We ate at the White Swan twice as the hotel we were staying at were not serving food on these particular days. We enjoyed our meals, however we thought the cost of wine was particularly expensive. The cheapest white Pino Grigio came out at £30. Our favourite Gavi was priced at £52. Needless to say we stayed off the wine.

We had a wonderful time at the White Swan and would happily stay again. The staff were so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We had a lovely, pretty room and the food was delicious (we had dinner both nights!). This is a really lovely hotel and would highly recommend :-)

14th April 5pm Just went with my brother for a drink ... lovely relaxed place comfy seating ...the young barman was very polite and friendly ... made the whole experience a very good one and I'll come again and maybe next time stay for a few nights Graham

Great location, wonderful staff, fabulous breakfast, dogs are welcome. My sister and I had a night away and stayed at The White Swan - it was really great. The staff were busy but always kind and attentive. They seemed to really care about their guests. Breakfast was delicious - I had locally sourced smoked haddock and poached egg, the whole breakfast was generous and fresh. Loved our stay and will be back.

Excellent location, with easy parking, and just a short walk from Pickering Station if intending to travel on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Staff very friendly and helpful, comfortable room (vintage) and excellent breakfasts and evening meal.

Staff can make or break a place and at the White Swan they definitely make it! Every member we met were great 😁. We had a lovely two night stay (Travelzoo) room was clean and comfy and the breakfast was excellent. We ate in the restaurant the first evening and we both enjoyed our meals, same with lunch in the bar.

This is an old building with lots of character. Staff all friendly and very helpful, breakfast and dinner menus excellent and food was really lovely. The little town of Pickering is delightful and the church is a must-see for its medieval wall paintings.

We have visited this area of North Yorkshire many times and we had popped into The White Swan for a drink but this time whilst visiting the NYMR to see Sir Nigel Gresley steam train, we decided to stay and we were absolutely glad we did. We booked in a Hideaway room as we have a dog. These rooms are well appointed and extremely comfortable whilst being practical with stone under heated flooring and your room door allowing direct access outside, a great bonus when travelling with your four legged friend. The dinner was superb and the staff members fitted us in as we had not booked which was just fantastic.The food was traditional and very high quality, certainly made with locally sourced ingredients as was the breakfast with a wide choice of offerings to set you up for the day….the sausages are amazing. The White Swan has now become one of our favourites and we shall certainly be back in the not too distant future
