Premier Inn Hereford City Centre (Old Market) ★★★

📍 Blackfriars St, Hereford

"Check in was easy, room clean etc. The issue was breakfast in the morning. The attitude of the lady in charge was awful. She was very rude to customers and staff. Said we should of booked breakfast the night before even though we had paid in advance. We were never told we had to book in advance. Breakfast took ages to arrive. Young lad working was nearly in tears because of her attitude towards customers and staff."

Premier Inn Hereford Holmer
7.5 (44 reviews)

Premier Inn Hereford Holmer ★★★

📍 Holmer Rd, Hereford

"Plenty of parking at this Premier Inn. Reception was efficient. Booked a table in the restaurant. Our Premier Plus room was good and had a refrigerator with complimentary bottles of water. Thankfully the room was facing the shade. After travelling I was looking forward to a pint in the adjacent restaurant. It has shut down! The in-house "restaurant", The Social, did not open until 5.00pm so I waited an hour for a pint of lager @ £6.00+. Booked a table in The Social "restaurant". Bookings have to be staggered to avoid the microwave overheating I presume. The Social is more like a canteen. Menu was mainly pasta, curry, fish & chips or a burger. All easily micro-waved making it easy for the lone "chef". The curry was off the menu at 6.40 pm so I opted for a burger drenched in squeezy bottle, pink burger sauce and a handful of chips. We also had fish and chips. The fish was a bit shredded and of uncertain provenance. I had looked at the nearest pubs for an evening meal but their menus were pretty much the same as The Social. Premier is very popular with tradesmen for a one-night stopover. So it's a very relaxed ambience. Overall, the Premier Plus room was worth paying extra (though not cheap). The "restaurant"? Give it a miss! Would not stay there again."

"The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The smell from the drain permeated the room. Using the shower made me cry because the smell was so bad."

Premier Inn Hereford Holmer ★★★
"This hotel looks dreary from the outside, but inside is being refurbished. Although it is being refurbished our room was in the middle of what I can only describe as a 'bombsite' uneven floors, boxes left in the corridor by the workmen, loud music from their radio, workmen shouting from one room to another to each other. The food was not even mediocre, Premier inn have provided cheap uneatable food for the staff to try and make look presentable let alone eatable. The dining room was cramped and un comfortable, and poorly lit. This is not the usual standard of Premier inn, will this improve?"

Traveling with friends
The Priory ★★★★
"I hired the whole house (including both apartments) to celebrate my 50th weekend with friends. 16 ladies in total on a self catering basis. We were totally blown away by how lovely it was. The photos don't do it justice! The open plan kitchen, lounge and "snug bar" are perfect for entertaining. Every room has an ensuite and it looks like it has been fairly recently refurbished as each bedroom and ensuite was decorated to a very high standard. Not too expensive either (compared to similar sized properties in the surrounding counties of Worcestershire, Shropshire, Gloucestershire.) Only downside was that all the bedrooms (except one) were doubles rather than twins so all us ladies had to share a bed. Therefore it might be better suited for couples rather than "same sex" friends. Having said that, Nadia and Chris did their best by putting up all the sofa beds available, so we had the option to use those should we so wish. They also provided a lovely home made cake which went down very well. There is a nice walk to Stretton Sugwas pool from the property and Credenhill Woods are nearby. We hired a private chef for the Saturday evening (Your Plate or Mine) which was delicious and they were very professional. Overall highly recommend The Priory for house hire."

Trelough House B&B ★★★
"My son & I had spent the day making a sword at a local forge. We were exhausted upon arrival and sadly due to poor signal in the area were unable to contact the B&B. Lorraine had stayed up late to welcome us, and the spacious, warm, comfortable room was just perfect for two tired wannabe blacksmiths. Breakfast was everything we could've wished for too. Cereals and fresh fruit galore. Cooked breakfast to follow with freshly brewed coffee, both made to order and delicious. If we're ever back in the area again we wouldn't hesitate to return. We recommended it to Oldfield Forge too as it's only around 5 miles (15 min drive) away. Everything here far exceeded the usual "B&B" expectations. So many are literally spare rooms in overly large houses offered as accommodation, with Kellog's mini boxes left on the side for breakfast and soggy bacon with droopy sausages to follow. This blew away the B&B preconception and provided a hotel-class stay."
