Travelodge Hexham ★★★
"We stayed for one night. A cheerful greeting on arrival and we were given information about our stay. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and it was a good size room. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast had plenty of hot and cold choice and was decent quality. Our only negative was that the toilet space in the bathroom was somewhat snug!!"
Langley Castle Hotel ★★★★
"All of the staff at this hotel were exceptional. We have not stayed anywhere where the service was so consistently great, and deserves comment. Loved our stay thanks"
The Railway Hotel ★★★★
"No arrival details were sent, just a link to the hotels dot com app. Some simple instructions regarding the key safe used would have been appreciated. Luckily the girl in the bar had a scrap of paper with the details. The room was small but comfortable and nicely furnished. There's a kitchen/breakfast room with two chairs at a small bar. There's a fridge, toaster, microwave etc but no sink. Unfortunately, it was difficult to use the room because other guests had left three bikes in there, practically filling all the available space. Assuming the management don't actually condone this practice then it suggests a lack of supervision of the property. During the evening there was a lot of noise from the street outside which I assumed was from customers of the pub."
Rose & Crown ★★★
"Lovely staff, very welcoming and accommodating. The food was excellent."
George Hotel ★★★
"The hotel is in a very good location, convenient for visiting Hadrian's Wall and the surrounding countryside. There is a small river flowing next to it, and the scenery is very beautiful. The hotel is a bit old, but it is well maintained, and the bathroom seems to have been renovated. There are plenty of parking spaces in the parking lot. The breakfast is good, but dinner is not all-inclusive. You have to order it yourself, within 25 pounds, and you don't get a refund if you pay more, and you get more if you pay less, which is a bit unusual."
The Beaumont Hexham ★★★
"Bed very low and hard bedhead curved so pillows fall down behind. Breakfast advertised 17.50 when went they charged you for individual items which turns out very expensive. Parking only 7 cars free in underground carpark. Bar has awful draught beer if you like beer with lemon flavour your ok. Asked for sofa bed for other guest when arrived not set up or bedding. After paying alot of money for 1 night stay thought ot wd be good. Sorry but i would not book this hotel again"
The Coach and Horses ★★★
"Just passing through, we had lunch and drinks in the bar. Food was fantastic, generous portions, compliments to the chef. Lady behind the bar was brilliant. Service was excellent (thanks for the gravy on the side). Overall a very pleasant experience, would definitely recommend, and we’ll be back next time we’re in Hexham."
Brown Rigg Guest Rooms ★★★
"Exceptionally clean beautiful bedding extras like a place to put hot items like hair straighter and tv controls were in a new plastic bag to maintain cleanliness. The shared facilities including kitchen were also outstanding. I took my neice to see the Perseids meteor shower as this is a dark sky area, we also saw the Milky Way thousands of stars and the northern lights. Quiet immaculate place in the middle of the countryside in darks sky very beautiful. The only difficulty for us is that we arrived on a very hot day, the room was very warm even with the fan but this was extreme weather! I did love the shutters on the windows though great for keeping the shade if you want. Lovely welcome from the staff and shown around so we knew where facilities were"
The Pheasant Inn ★★★★
"Our stay at the Pheasant Inn was great. The room we had was lovely, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was absolutely delicious. We would definitely stay again."

"This week at the Riverdale Hotel has been so enjoyable. The staff could not be more helpful. The food was excellent and well presented. There were 9 of us touring on our bikes and we all felt the same. Special thanks to Lee and Kerry who looked after us. A hidden gem with lovely grounds and lovely clean rooms."
Hollybush Inn
"Great stay, unfortunately only for 1 night. Lovely warm atmosphere in cosy bar with fire. Had a meal in the restaurant, again great service and food fantastic. Really friendly staff all round. A big thank you to everybody who made our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Definitely recommended."
The County Hotel
"A fantastic place to stay- staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was perfect. Spacious, clean and tidy."
Spacious family cottage on farm on Roman Wall in Northumberland National Park
The Bowes Hotel
"A simply amazing stay. Firstly Ian and his team helped us remedy an error made by ******* on booking rooms at the Bowes hotel. Really friendly and interpersonal staff along with extensive knowledge of the area and further beyond particularly Hadrian's Wall path along with the Roman Museums and Forts. The food served was amazing aswell, better than some other independent restaurants, also the Thai-cakes are a must try! The room is clean and tidy with a great buffet breakfast to boot, they also make lunch for your journey ahead. If you are staying at Bardon Mill, this is the place to be, just a walk away from the station that connects back to Newcastle. Friendly neighbourhood and locals that shares stories from their journeys and also fellow travellers from around the world mostly doing the Hadrian's Wall walk. I cannot fault this wonderful and cosy hotel and pub that is the Bowes Hotel!"
Anchor Hotel
"The room is very old and the bathroom facilities are very poor. It is not recommended to stay here."
The Twice Brewed Inn
"We stayed here because there was an event hosted by the place and it was very convenient just near the hotel. The tour itself was clean, but it was really small so it was hard to move around. However, everything else is OK."
Rye Hill Farm
"Lovely peaceful farmhouse B&B close to Hexham and Hadrian’s Wall. Elizabeth is a very experienced and friendly host, serving excellent breakfasts, and the rooms are spacious, comfortable and very quiet. Slaley has a well-run community pub providing good food, excellent beer and welcoming atmosphere."
Brown Rigg Lodges
"I had a great stay here recently. I spent 2 nights and was well taken care of. It’s a short walk into Bellingham where you can find cafes, pubs and groceries. It is also just off the Pennine Way. I stayed in the guest room building, which has a handy, communal kitchen. There are also self catering lodges. Hazel and Katie did a lovely job of looking after the rooms. This place is in dark sky country so there are spectacular views at night. I would be very happy to come back here!"
