The Maynard ★★★
"This was the latest of several visits to the Maynard. A lovely country house hotel with a glorious garden and terrace. However….not quite up to usual standard on this occasion. No chairs in the room and some had to be found, also the fan given to us to cool the room ( huge south facing windows in a heatwave!) was totally inadequate and we spent two very uncomfortable nights. They appeared to be very short staffed in the dining room….we waited 40 minutes from ordering evening meal to being served. Staff all pleasant and doing their best, but clearly under pressure. We will be back because we are very fond of the hotel….but we hope these problems are temporary."
Days Inn by Wyndham Sheffield M1 ★★★
"I booked through trip.com paid through the app, but upon arrival I was told my payment wasn’t showing on there system. After showing them proof of payment I was told I have to pay again to secure my booking.. so now I’ve paid double the booking fee"
YHA Castleton Losehill Hall ★★★
"2nd visit to the hostel but first time taking the tent. The grass area is massive and my little one loved the fact there are lots of sheep and lambs roaming freely. Another fantastic stay. The staff here are friendly and helpful and we loved spending time in the grand lounge. We will be returning again. Would definitely recommend this place for camping."
The Miners Arms ★★★★
"Really quaint & cosy accommodation in a pretty little village. The staff were really friendly & helpful & the food was great! The only negative for me was the late check in (5.30) on a Monday & the decor was pretty tired looking. I certainly wouldn’t let it put me off staying again though. Overall a pleasant 3 day stay 👍"
The Hide at Chatsworth ★★★
"These kinds of English country inns are very common 😀. They often have restaurants and bars, perfect for evening meals and conversations, or for a quick night's sleep before heading out the next day. Don't expect too much; most people abroad are on their own. Tip: This inn also has self-check-in, but the system often malfunctions. If you encounter problems, ask the staff for help. The bar has good beer; you might want to try it."
The Moon Inn at Stoney Middleton ★★★★
"The environment is average, a very shabby cabin, but the good thing is that the breakfast is very good👍"
Ibis Budget Sheffield Centre St Marys Gate ★★
"Nice hotel for the price. The rooms are on the small side which is to be expected from a budget hotel, but it was clean and modern, and a nice bathroom and decently sized shower. The main negative was that the shower water pressure was poor. I would stay here again when next visiting Sheffield!"
Buxton Crescent ★★★★
"Perhaps not many Thais visit this spa town. The room was small, but it's in the heart of the city, and the building is the most prominent and beautiful in town. Breakfast was à la carte and took quite a while to be served; I would have preferred a buffet. Overall, it was an okay experience for a once-in-a-lifetime trip."
