Stayed at Coral Sands Hotel for 10 nights in July 2024. Excellent location, next to the hotel there is everything you need: beach, cafes, souvenir shops. The staff was responsive and promptly resolved any issue I had. The buffet and restaurant are excellent! The food is very tasty and varied. The room is comfortable with working air conditioning, the sea view is stunning. Overall, I was pleased with my stay and recommend it to everyone!

Coral Sands Hotel beach front property. Special Thanks to “Executive Chef Mr. Christopher & all Kitchen staff / Operation Manager Mr. Randun Preajayth & His entire staff. Very tasty 🦀 Crab Curry & Healthy Drumstick Leaves Soup specially made to us by our Executive Chef Christopher and team. Thank you to the entire Kitchen staff. We have been to this beachfront hotel many times but this time I invited a few of my family's friends along with us. Beach front Location was amazing, and the staff was really good. Food was also tasty and the overall stay was quite comfortable. Their concept to ensure privacy for each room is also great. This is an amazing place to stay. Very good and friendly Housekeeping & Restaurant staff. Very Good security service day / Night. High Speed Wifi service. I highly recommend this Beachfront resort. We will be keep coming all the way from Canada 🇨🇦. Please keep up the good service. 🙏🇨🇦🇱🇰❤️

Our stay at Coral Sands was much more than I expected. Can’t recommend this hidden gem enough. It may not have all the bells and whistles of the newer hotels or larger chains in the area but if your looking for a reasonably priced hotel that’s clean and has what you need with excellent customer service check it out. The location was perfect for us, beautiful views and a short walk to turtle beach. The staff have gone above and beyond and are what makes this humble hotel awesome. Given a choice between the larger chain hotels in the area, I would still opt for coral sands again purely based on the service received from the staff and the fact that the hotel is so clean. We booked via @bookingcom and got a great deal on half board and easy to book. #hikkaduwa #srilanka #coralsandshotel #bookingcom

We booked our holiday with Mercury holidays as an All Inclusive lite board basis (meals plus selected local alcoholic drinks). However, we discovered upon arrival that this was essentially Full Board Plus, a single drink with each meal and a few beers a day. Not much use if you don't drink beer. Thankfully our Mercury rep Ananda and the Hotel Manager Thilina were absolutely fabulous and managed to sort us out a deal that work for us. FYI wine is imported so not a local drink. All the staff were absolutely fabulous throughout our stay. The pool "boy" the bar staff, the waiters, cooks etc, all brilliant. Friendly, attentive, engaging, helpful. Honestly cannot praise them enough. Rooms are basic, but with everything you need. Wardrobe shelves looked worn but they were clean and dust free. The fridge looked rather outdated, but it worked very well and even had a freezer section which we put some bottles of water in. The beds were very comfy, absolutely no complaints about them. Plus our son had a proper bed, not a sofa bed which is always a bonus. There was also very good air con in the room which was a welcome relief from the Sri Lankan heat. Shampoo and body wash are provided, along with bottles of water, tea, coffee and a kettle. Other than the water we didn't have any drinks in the room (except those brought back from the bar!). There is also a TV but we never used it so can't comment on it. The balcony was lovely with a clothes horse to hang your swim wear on. The rooms were cleaned daily. Meals were excellent, for a small restaurant there was a lot of choice each night. We never had a problem finding something we liked for the 10 nights we were there. My son loved the omelet station at breakfast, and the shredded bacon. Personally the deserts were my fav, but they did some amazing mains too. We tried a few local dishes and instantly needed glasses of water, our pallets are not that spice developed! Lunch was a 4 course meal which was far too much for us, particularly with the heat. The staff were fabulous though and let us just have a burger or something lighter. The hotel has two pools plus a small kids pool, which was primarily used for sunbathing in while we were there! There were clean and of a good depth with varying levels. All very warm due to the heat of the country. By the smaller pool were the steps onto the beach, these could do with some work and it felt safer to cut across the diving centre section to get to the beach. Also the brilliant idea of a small area of water to wash your sandy feet in as you come back from the beach, along with a shower. The beach is great, watch the waves depending upon the tides, but there is a clearly defined swimming area and next to it a defined area to explore the coral reef. We saw so many fish, but the delight was the sea turtles, a least a meter long swimming alongside you!! That experience was just amazing. Even better than seeing them at turtle beach which is a 10/15 minute walk down t

We had a XL upgraded room and were All inclusive booked through Aitken Spence via Mercury Holidays who I thoroughly recommend they gave us a private transfer to and from airport and they have a local Rep who looks after you. The room had bedside tables with an English plug and 2 usb slots. Comfy King size double bed, good shower (cubical a bit worn/grubby around edges) and jacuzzi bath there was a small sitting area, free Safe, tea coffee making facilities, small outside balcony with Excellent 180D sea and pool view. The staff are friendly and helpful. Although 3 star the food is just as good as any of the 4 star hotels we stayed in on our tour. Food is buffet style so something for everyone. Excellent quiet a/c and also ceiling fan above bed. Pool area looks clean and well kept. Service 4/5, Cleanliness 4/5, in some places it is a little tatty around the edges. Our room was bug free, Sometimes there are power cuts electric goes off but then comes straight back on again. There is some road noise at night but otherwise quiet. There was also entertainment on Saturday night in the dinning area 2 men playing acoustic guitars mainly 70s American music and they were surprisingly very good. Safe calm swimming beach right outside of the hotel sandy bottom so no need for swim shoes. Reef comes right up to beach so snorkelling from beach is safe and shallow with lots of large and small coloured fishes. Turtle beach 5 min walk away. There are shops, restaurants, banks etc on the road just outside hotel, no path but we felt safe walking around local area. We found heckling to be minimal. We would stay at Coral Sands again so recommend it.

This was our fourth but for shore not last stay at this lovely hotel, and as all the times before we left with a big smile and a lot tears since the stay been so amazing. Lots of laughs, new friends from all around the world, and marvellous memories from the wonderful and friendly staff. Coral Sands offers everything you can ask for. Clean rooms, friendly and service minded staff, a really great breakfast, superb lunch, and a great dinner. The pool area is great even if the sea with its wonderful coral reefs attracts a little more, don't forget the snorkel and cyclop. Get up early in the morning, have a lovely breakfast, and then you can relax in a sunbed at the pool. As soon as you need something, the staff will quickly help you. If you like to have something to eat at lunch the restaurant offers a varied meny with really good food. The location is also perfect, just a few steps from the beautiful green ocean where you can swim and almost touch the small fishes. The railway station as well as the bus station is only a few minutes away by foot. The bus will take you to Galle where you can do some great shopping.

Had a fantastic stay in this hotel with my family. We all had 3 deluxe rooms with large balconies overlooking the pool and sea. The staff here are outstanding. All very friendly and cannot do Broughton to make the stay wonderful. The hotel is perfectly located in Hikkaduwa. Right on the beach. The sea is clear and warm and you can feed fish and turtles. Paradise!

Old place the hallways are dark, food was meh and they didn’t allow me to have a visitor. Like I’m wanted to welcome my friends who are in other accommodation to have a chat in my balcony but it was not allowed. In some hotels they don’t allowed beyond 10pm but my Visitors are at lunch time. So that’s an awful experience. They dont have free toothbrushes also and there are cracks on my walls. It’s kinda good but actually bad for what it is. Gonna stay somewhere else next time!
