Santiago Guesthouse Hiroshima

A relatively well-located hotel in Hiroshima, but still has some flaws in terms of details. The check-in time, which must be done by 9:00 PM at the latest, is a bit restrictive when you arrive and are not familiar with the schedules (while most hotels offer check-in until 10:00 PM or even midnight). Next, the beds are poorly soundproofed, and most importantly, the top beds have curtains that let light in from above and offer no privacy. What's the point of having black curtains if they let light from other beds through? From the first night, I was glad to only stay for two nights in total and move elsewhere...

Staff was great. Gave good advice on local transportation and provided a map.

It's definitely the international place that you are looking for. But they also have all the amenities. Kitchen is huge and functional. 2 big screen in the common room. A few sofa and nice chairs. They have a rooftop. Laundry is possible too. Staff speak English... Maybe even Spanish and French... Of course Japanese too. Bed is ok. But you need to make it yourself. It's common in japan. Airflow in my dormitory room was ok too.

Affordable stay option within the quieter part of Hiroshima with clean facilities, friendly staff and convenient location for exploring the local area. Minutes walk to Hiroshima Hondori Shopping Street, nearby convenience stores (7-Eleven, Lawson and Family Mart) and reasonable travel time from Hiroshima Station (~15 mins on Hiroden Streetcar Tram to Fukuromachi Station and a few mins walk). Things to be aware of: - Limited space within dorm for re-organising luggage contents, I'd recommend having essentials in a backpack for easy access and minimise disturbance to other guests. - Lobby area can get quite warm during the day if you arrive too early as reception won't be available until 4pm, per check-in information once booked.
