"Absolutely stunning and incredible lodge. Beautiful luxury retreat in a game reserve and Rare Sand Forest. Amazing Infinity edge pool overlooking bush and wildlife. We loved our private outdoor jacuzzi at our chalet with beautiful views of outdoors nature. We watched a Spotted Genet Cat grooming himself for some time on a tree at the outside jacuzzi.one evening and what a sight! The food is excellant. We enjoyed the boma barbecue under the stars and zebras visitng. We will be back soon!"

"From the moment we reserved our stay at Thanda, through Lara Soldat, we knew that we were in for a truly magical experience. We were met at the gate by our friendly guide, Martin, and his tracker, and transported to the main lodge, where we were welcomed by Siya and Lucky, both beaming with welcoming smiles and passion. The lodge, accommodation, spa, facilities, delectable cuisine and drinks were outstanding, but it is the friendly and courteous service, that stands out and makes this lodge a premier destination. Spending at least 7 hours in the day with our guide and tracker made this experience an adventure of a lifetime. The professionalism, passion, knowledge, excitement and commitment displayed, was absolutely outstanding and made this voyage of discovery, in the African bush, a never to be forgotten experience of memories and friendship. Gooderson Bushlands Game Lodge ★★★

"I recently was again with a group of people at gooderson Bushlands lodge, and again it was “ok”. Some people did not had water, others mentioned that cleanliness was a bit on the poor site. My own room was spacious but the tv was removed and only wires hanging out of the wall and it smelled a bit damp, but otherwise ok. All in all nothing serious. But what is unexceptionable is that staff takes stuff, not theirs. I left a very expensive headlight behind, realized it the same day and phoned in the same evening. I asked if it please can be couriered to Cape Town before my flight back in 13 days. Wich was assured. However after more then a week I got a phone call I need to organise a courier to pic it up and bring it to Cape Town. Not only have now precious 8 days past, I was also expected to organise a courier while on holiday. Needless to say I had to fly back without my goods. On later enquiries it was told one does not know where the headlight is! This is theft in my opinion as it was clearly found by staff and brought to reception and management. Unacceptable !!"

"Very disappointed with this accommodation. Started badly when we couldn’t get in the gate. There was an intercom, turns out it doesn’t work but there was no sign to tell us that it wasn’t working. Had to phone reception, they then phoned security guard to let us in. Parked car and lugged our bags all the way along a rickety boardwalk to the reception - turns out if you leave bags at car they will take them to your room. Friendly reception staff who greeted us with a welcome drink. Given key to our lodge - expected a beautiful view over the lake but disappointed to find there was very little view due to the vegetation. Room was shabby and small. You can’t drink the water so have to have the water they provide. Our room wasn’t turned down the first night so water wasn’t topped up which meant a trek to reception to get some drinking water. Menu was poor and provided in a shabby plastic folder. Food wasn’t great, reminded me of a Wetherspoons. Husband hired a mountain bike but chain kept coming off and gears didn’t work. One hour boat trip out over lake was worth doing and we saw a hippo. Staff friendly and try their best but place need an injection of money to bring it up to standard. This was the forth place we stayed on our two week trip and really disappointing."

He really goes the extra mile and explains in detail (well worth the money). The unit we stayed in was very clean, and staff were friendly. Over all, a great weekend and experience. "
