The Malibu Hotel

Friendly staff, very clean, and the room was absolutely beautiful. It's a short walk to the beach, truly five-star standard. The breakfast was rich, varied, and delicious.

Do NOT book this hotel. The lobby looks super luxurious, like a 5-star, but the rooms are absolutely, positively awful. When I checked in, they showed me a notice about renovation noise from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. But the noise actually started at 7:15 AM, and at 4:40 PM, it still hadn't stopped – I have videos to prove it. Complaining to the manager always resulted in an 'I'll check' response. The room facilities are also incredibly old and outdated. I really regret not booking the Pullman next door instead.

Malibu Hotel in Vũng Tàu gets a perfect 10! The location is superb, right in the city center, just a 3-minute walk to the Tam Thang Tower and the beach. There are plenty of restaurants, eateries, and amenities nearby. The hotel has a beautiful swimming pool on the 5th floor with a kids' water play area, which my child absolutely loved. The breakfast buffet offers a good variety, and the food is quite tasty. The staff are also very enthusiastic. Overall, everything was great!

Last Chinese New Year, I went to Nha Trang, and this year I flew to Ho Chi Minh City. My travel plans were quite last-minute, and honestly, Ho Chi Minh City doesn't have many attractions. Hotels in Mui Ne were ridiculously expensive, so luckily, Malibu Hotel had rooms available, and we just booked a private car to get here. Vung Tau is pretty much on par with Sanya Bay in Hainan – lots of people and very lively. The seafood stalls are incredibly affordable because there are hardly any foreign tourists here (no Westerners, no Koreans, no Chinese). The only downside was that ordering food was a bit difficult as English communication wasn't great, so I had to rely on my phone for translation. It's definitely an affordable type of holiday destination. The hotel is a standard Vietnamese chain five-star. The room had a small balcony with a sea view, which was generally very good. The pool isn't huge but suitable for kids, basically meeting the needs for a family vacation.
