Hadley's Orient Hotel

This Victorian-era hotel was built by convicts. The front desk staff are Nepalese, very polite and courteous. The breakfast is excellent, a buffet with everything you'd expect, not a set menu. It's in the city center, making it convenient for getting around. The value for money is great, better than most international chains. Although it's an old hotel, it's tastefully decorated and clean, and the bathroom facilities are surprisingly modern, not at all like something from a century ago. Highly recommended.

The hotel's location is excellent, right in the city center, close to everything. Being near the sea, it's very convenient for trips to Bruny Island, Tasman Peninsula cruises, and Maria Island, with all meeting points close by. The hotel is clean, quiet, and well-equipped with amenities like shampoo, conditioner, soap, skin lotion, and shower gel, all from good brands.

The rooms are charming, a bit old-fashioned, but close to restaurants and in the CBD. The staff are friendly and provide excellent service.

The front desk staff, Cyril, was incredibly friendly and helpful, willing to explain many details! Out of all my travels, this was easily one of the top three friendliest front desk experiences. The hotel is steeped in Hobart's history, with many interactive little stations that help you understand the connection between the hotel and local history! It was a lot of fun! However, there's no main light in the room, so the lighting is a bit dim!

The room type is a bit small, but the hotel has a lot of character. The closet space is quite narrow, so it's hard to fit a large down jacket.

A very historic hotel with an excellent location, within walking distance to lots of dining, shopping, and attractions. The front desk staff were very friendly. During our stay, there were free performances in the lobby every day, like harp music and choir singing, which created a wonderful musical and artistic atmosphere.
