We stayed in the apartment for 4 nights. As a rest stop during our trip to Tasmania, the attitude of the front desk of the apartment was acceptable. There is an elevator. There is a double bed and a single bed in the room. The kitchen facilities are quite complete, but not Clean, so much so that we went and bought a frying pan ourselves. In terms of cleaning, simply doing it every day is not enough. The apartment has convenient parking and a good location. Everything is within walking distance.

This budget motel in an old building offers small, cheap rooms within walking distance of the city and Salamanca as well as having two major supermarkets and various eateries just along Sandy Bay Road. Positives: Good quality linen, hot shower, plenty of extra pillows, TV, comfotable beds, quiet room and some parking, This is clearly advertised. Central location south of the city. Person on reception aimed to please, but was not able to give a positive response to our request for a light bulb to be replaced. Plug in heater was most welcome. Not so good: The carpet on the stairs is worn and torn (a safety hazard). Our room looked as if maintenance is a low priority - missing light bulbs, tiles missing in the shower allowing water to flow across the floor. This is a good place to stay if you intend to use the room for short periods.

I stayed here one night as I had heard about Montacute and so wanted to check it out. It’s a beautiful building in a quiet location. It’s a backpackers for an older set of customer, or for people willing to pay a little extra than a YHA. A hostel environment with shared kitchen and bathrooms. I paid for a twin for myself - $110 for the night. My younger self would’ve loved it without question, but my older self was a bit tired from my day and so the loud chatter in the corridors late into the evening was a bit tedious. Earplugs helped and anyway after 12am things settled and I could sleep soundly in my comfy bed. Very close to nice coffee shops snd Salamanca.

Great location in bush setting. All informatiin sent in email before stay was helpful, so access was easy. Self contained cabin,with all you need, included. Great for short, or longer stays. Not far from city centre

The location is good, not far from the port. If you check in on Saturday, turn right for two minutes and you will find the Salamanca market. There is a kitchen in the room. It is convenient to drive to the supermarket. Not new but okay, the elevator is a bit scary and it shakes when stopped. In addition, the parking lot is not large enough. If each room is driven by car, it is estimated that the parking is not enough, but it is free when parking.

Overall a well maintained and presented establishment. Beautiful gardens, easy parking (on first attempt you may mis the driveway in off the main road pending traffic), the best continental breakfast around with cereal, milks, serious sourdough, yoghurts, fruit salad, teas and coffee. The port at the end of the day with a chocolate is an enjoyable touch. Comfy rooms and amenities. If you don't mind a walk (15 minutes) to stretch the legs, easy access to the pier area and Salamanca markets.

I am very disappointed as I thought I booked a room in Wrest Point but instead it was in adjacent property called Motor Inn. I felt that I have been cheated as the picture in the booking details showed me Wrest point Towel and not Motor Inn. I thought the room was called Motor Inn as I have not been there to know the existence of Motor Inn. When I queried about it, they said it was the agent's (trip.com) fault . To move to the main tower will cost me an extra of $80. I felt I have been conned and they should have placed the Motor Inn building photo instead of the tower of Wrest Point in their website for booking. (It is deceptive marketing - show you a ferrari for sale and got a lemon after you have paid for it) Motor Inn is an old building and does not have lifts to the room we were allocated and being retirees , we have to carry our bags up to 2 flights of stairs. On top of that, the room walls were not sound proof and you can hear every customer slamming their doors and flushing their toilets. I thought we have booked the room with the sea view instead there were only bushes as a window view. It was so embarrassing when I thought I could request for a room on a higher floor in wrest tower for good views but instead shown out of the door to an old adjacent building call Motor Inn. In all its websites and advertising, there is not 1 photo to show Motor Inn as Wrest Point . It has always being the tower used to promote the sale of their rooms. The Bistro food is poor quality and costly. We order from the caviary and the food came out to be cold and dry. We wanted to try the other 2 restaurants Kwan Ho and the one on the 17 th floor in the main tower but were told they were close. I thought being a top notch hotel, their restaurant will be open 7 days instead they are closed 2 days.( sun and mon). - the days we were there sat,sun,mon) They have a fantastic location but sad to say they don't have the marks of a 5 star hotel. I had to complete a few circular routes off Brooker Highway as I kept bypassing the entrance. We had booked a Riverview Motel Room and certainly enjoyed the location and lovely views of the gardens, river and nearby mountains. All welcoming and efficiency at reception, everything ready for our 2 night stay, great advice on restaurant and other facilities and a very good selection of brochures for attractions, both local and further afield. Parking in front of the Unit, very good facilities although a little dated, another comfortable bed. Checkout easy.

When it comes to writing a manual on how to own and operate a small boutique hotel then the manager Robert Devine and his team at The Rivulet must've written it. We were upgraded to the ''Alonnah Suite'' from a ground floor room for our two night stay in mid December. The quality of the room amenities were outstanding. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom beyond exceptional. Being at the back of the hotel the room was also very quiet with lovely views of Mt Wellington from the free standing claw foot bath. The breakfast was to die for. A smorgasbord of fresh produce all tastefully presented.
