Jingran Boutique Hotel ( Square Railway Station)

Our stay at this hotel was just okay—not excellent, but acceptable for a budget hotel. If you’re looking for an affordable place to stay in Hohhot and don’t have very high expectations, this hotel can be an option. One of the staff members was not very friendly toward foreign guests. We simply requested a chopstick to stir our coffee in the room, but unfortunately, our request was declined. It was a small thing, but the experience could have been handled more warmly. Pros: * Very close to the metro/subway station * Convenient location near Hohhot Railway Station * Plenty of affordable restaurants nearby * Budget-friendly Cons: * The carpet on the floor was visibly dirty * The hotel is quite old and could use some updating * Service could be more welcoming, especially toward foreign guests Overall, our stay was just good enough for a short budget stay, mainly because of the convenient location and affordable price. However, if you are particular or sensitive about cleanliness, I would recommend looking for another hotel.

Location is not the best area in Hohhot, but taxi is cheap in the city so it was not a big issue. What bothered us the most was the fact that the room is “non-smoking” but had obvious smell of smoke when we arrived, and an ashtray (?!) is part of the room amenities. I asked the front if I was put in the wrong room and they said that it was indeed non-smoking but due to the language barrier they could not explain the ashtray well. Besides that, it was OK in terms of cleanliness and the bed was comfortable. The smell faded away from the 2nd night. Staff was also very helpful for fulfilling our requests. I recommend the hotel to remove the ashtray to suggest guests to not smoke. All in all it is a decent accommodation for what you pay for.

I ordered it without seeing the small window in the picture. Bathroom was so dirty.
