My stay at this hotel was, I believe, somewhat unusual due to the ongoing rain season and the resulting flooding.
Considering the hotel’s price per room and the challenging weather conditions, the overall experience was satisfactory.
However, I strongly advise against staying in this hotel and the surrounding area during the rainy season. The hotel’s proximity to the river makes it prone to flooding, which unfortunately disrupted my stay. For two days, I was unable to receive deliveries or taxis, as Grab drivers refused to deliver due to the high water levels.
Fortunately, the hotel staff went above and beyond to assist me. They helped me place an order for food using their other hotel address and delivered it to my room. While this solution was effective, it did take some time.
Additionally, the hotel provided a valuable service by arranging free transportation from the hotel to the area that was not affected by flooding. This was a relief, as taxis refused to pick me up at the hotel.
To improve the overall experience during flooding, the hotel should take proactive measures. Firstly, they should notify guests about the impending flooding so that they can make adequate arrangements for food and water, as delivery and transportation services are severely disrupted. Secondly, they should inform guests about potential difficulties caused by the flood, allowing them to make timely adjustments to their stay, such as changing hotels, purchasing appropriate footwear, or re-planning their itinerary.
In terms of cleanliness, the hotel meets the expected standards for the price range. The rooms are relatively clean, and the bedsheets are acceptable, although there are some spots that could be cleaned with bleach.
Overall, the experience at the hotel was positive and constructive. However, there are several areas where improvements can be made to enhance the overall stay, especially considering that those changes shouldn’t cost a lot for the hotel.
