Nostalgic route 66 hotel with old cars in front of each unit. It was cute and ok for 1 night. The units definitely needs to be updated while keeping it 'original ' as well. The bathroom didn't have an outlet and the mirror made us feel like we were in a fun house. We enjoyed the stay overall. A deep cleaning would help as well.

This is a novel idea but that's where it ends. Great photo op. The heater was very loud but worked really well. The bathroom/shower are super small but hot water and good water pressure. No coffee pot, microwave or clock. The TV was small, but the cable was nice to have. The receptionist was super unfriendly and acted like I was inconveniencing her. I will add this to the "been there, done that" list. If I get back to Holbrook, I will stay somewhere else and wouldn't recommend. As someone else said, take a photo and move on.

We were so excited to finally have a reservation for a Wigwam room at the Wigwam Motel. This reservation was confirmed via email and again twice by telephone the day before and the day we were to arrive. We advised we would be arriving late (around 8 p.m.) as we were coming from LA. There was no problem, we were told. When we arrived, the front desk young woman at first wasn't even around. We walked around for about 15 minutes before she finally returned to the dark office. When we said we were checking in and we had a Wigwam reservation, she stated that was impossible because there weren't any left. I gave her our reservation number and she checked it. She stared at it for awhile and then went to the office and pulled out a book, looked at it and then stated, "I don't know how this happened. Your reservation is here but your room was given away. This isn't supposed to happen. Your reservation is right here." She then offered us a motel room for the same price. We refused. She then offered a full refund and the motel room for $50 and we again refused. We wanted to speak to a manager to find out what happened and she said one wasn't available. We started to try to find other hotels within a 30-40 minute drive and she said she'd just refund the room and comp us the motel room. Since it was now getting late and we had been on the road and in traffic all day, we took it. We should have refused it. The room she gave us was a disaster. By the time we had looked at the room and returned to the front desk, everything was locked up and she was gone. Look at the attached pictures: Extension cords running multiple appliances from across the room, electrical tape keeping a window closed, water stains and damage to walls and ceiling, fixtures that wouldn't even be acceptable in a third rate trailer park...the list goes on and on. We seriously considered sleeping in the car but we were so tired. There was no one in the office when we left in the morning, so we left the keys in the room. Everything about this stay was a complete disgrace.

Believe it or not, we drove from Sedona on a weekday morning to start our Northern Arizona Route 66 trek. Holbrook is quite the Route 66 town with many Route 66 venues that still exist. Other than the Jack Rabbit Trading Post near Joseph City, the La Posada Hotel in Winslow, the Museum Club in Flagstaff and a few others that have operated continuously in Northern Arizona, this is a recognizable place by most Route 66 aficionados. When we were there on an unusually cold February day, the only signs of life we saw here was a maintenance man heading into one of the wigwams. There is a sign outside the hotel that claims Holbrook is the only place on Route 66 where a right angle still exists. I doubt that, but let’s move on. Would we stay here? I try to support places along the route with positive comments. I have also read that there are only two Wigwam Hotels left in the USA. This is the second one I have been to; it is located near Horses Cavern, Kentucky. I believe there is a third in California. So, they would be very fun to stay at, I’m guessing for a quick sleep over to say you’ve done it. Like many towns along Route 66, Holbrook is run down when you get away from the Interstate a few blocks. There is lots to see here, if doing Route 66, start at Lupton and head west, the views are spectacular on the north side of the interstate (we failed to do this, all of the new places are on the north side, but we did eat at what we think was an original Dairy Queen right at the Interstate 40 bridge (exit 286) on the east end of the town. ) the nostalgia here is indescribable with authentic cars sprinkled around the wigwams, definitely worth seeing.

What a treasure! This motel is a true blast from the past with just enough modern touches. The wigwam was very clean, cozy and warm on a cold night. If you are looking for fancy, this isn’t the place for you but if you want true Route 66 experience, it is highly recommended. The old cars parked throughout are a fun touch. It’s the Cozy Cone Morel for humans! Thank you for a wonderful memory!

This is fantastic, unique lodging! Have you stayed in a teepee lately? Originally located on Rt 66, this place has stood the test of time! There were originally 9 locations throughout the US. Holbrook’s Wigwam Motel is one of three remaining. Sarah welcomed us warmly and answered our area questions. Our room was two comfortable queen beds and a bathroom and shower with good pressure. An A/C unit and heater are provided for hot/cold temperatures. Internet strength was good and cable tv is provided. Train tracks run behind the property; ear plugs are provided. The trains never blew their whistles. The vintage cars and trucks throughout the property are priceless and lend to the nostalgic feel! Disney had to have based the Cozy Cone Motel in “Cars” on this lodging! My daughter and I highly recommend spending a night!

Stayed here on my Rte 66 trip. Great classic cars parked outside the Teepee rooms. Stayed in one of the Teepee rooms. It was small but beds were okay and room was clean. The front office staff is great and the museum connected to the office is interesting. Family operation, iconic motel.

We enjoyed sleeping in a wigwam. The rooms were comfortable and more roomy than expected for the age and style. Staff was friendly and helpful. My husband is 6’-3” tall which made showering a little challenging as the shower head was as at about 5’ - not a negative but something to be prepared for.

An absolute waste of money, the wig wam gimmick is the only thing going for it. On arrival after a 300 mile drive { doing Route 66} we were looking forward to a much deserved cup of coffee. On arrival, the surroundings are not the most welcoming, a car park that is basicall waste ground, as for the old style cars around it, to give it a Rustic Route 66 feel I suppose, well they were just scrappers from the car yard. On entering the room there are no drink making facilities, so I went to the reception to ask if this had been overlooked. The reply was a rather caustic "There aren't any, you can get a coffee from the gas station down the road" a good 1/2 mile away, useful when you get up, NOT. It's a Motel, the one thing you would expect after a drive is to be able to get a drink, even if it was in the reception. The toiletries are very basic and minimal. Basically it relies on being part of the iconic Route 66 trail and does as minimal as it can get away with, I certainly can't recommend it. TAKE A PHOTO AND MOVE ON!!
