We absolutely loved our stay at Combe House Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel right at home. Gareth and Catherine are simply made for hospitality – the perfect hosts – and Lisa, Alexis, and the rest of the team were all incredible. The hotel itself is wonderfully cosy with a real "home away from home" feel. Our cavapoo, Ponyo, was so comfortable and excited to be there – it's clear that dogs are truly welcome, not just tolerated. Being tucked away in the middle of nowhere made it a dream escape – peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by nature. The food was absolutely amazing. As vegetarians, we were delighted by how accommodating the kitchen was, going above and beyond to create special dishes for us each day with plenty of variety. We’re already looking forward to coming back – it’s rare to find a place that gets everything so right.

I have reviewed this as a one but that’s generous! Arrived late at night and when opening the door to our room was extremely disappointed by the very cold dark and dreary supposedly a superior room mmm I think not! There were two spot lights in the bathroom one didn’t work then tried to put the light on at the mirror oh and guess what that didn’t work either the shower was diabolical right in the corner and trickled out. Breakfast was okay apart from the owner who needs to go on a customer service course as he obviously just money oriented also charging £2.50 a day for Wi-Fi we are in the 20th century and when you’re paying over £180 a night for a non superior room I won’t be going back

Perfect 2 nights stay. Hotel set in the Quantock hills which is perfect for walks especially if you have dogs. Rooms are nicely presented and beds very comfortable. The chef is amazing,all meals were beautifully cooked. We went away in need of rest and recharge and got that and more. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely return.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff and wonderful meals! Comfortable beds, charming interior, lovely fireplace and very friendly and attentive staff. We enjoyed every single meal served for us! The place is located at the end of a lane in a small village but close to some wonderful AONBs, where you can go for long or short walks.

The food was ok. It’s a shame that vegetables aren’t served as they used to be and that each meal is plated. It was lovely to be able to help oneself to the vegetables The food was piping g hot ante device was great. Sadly the crème brûlée was missing the brûlée. There was no crunchy top to it, surely a key point of the dish. It was soggy, not crisp and crunchy. Not just mine but each one that was served to us.

We had a wonderful couple of days at the Combe House Hotel. The setting is fantastic. From the front door a path takes you up into the hills where you can walk for hours. We saw a herd of Red Deer just 5 minutes from the hotel. The hotel is very cozy, lots of places to sit and relax inside or out. Great decor, comfy beds and delicious food. A great find, we look forward to returning.

Beautiful location, stylishly decorated in the bar, guest lounge and dining rooms. Very attentive staff and the food was delicious! Service wasn't rushed which gave us time to enjoy the wine and soak up the atmosphere. Thank you for our visit, highly recommend

Rather difficult to find. Not very good for people with mobility issues. Only ground floor can only be reached by either going up 13 steps, across the Hotel and down 13 very steps stairs. The alternative is to go out of the Hotel and walk around the outside and enter the room by its conservatory. Not great when it’s raining and/or freezing cooed. Lot of steps to go up and down to restaurant. Food was OK but not as special as we had hoped. Sadly the experience was somewhat disappointing and made my wife rather unhappy so we cut our stay short and came home a day early. The Hotel did, at least, refund us for the meal we would have had on the day we left. Shame as we were really looking forward to finding somewhere quite close to us thot did great food.
