Nicholas and the whole team made our weekend really special. It was my wife's birthday and Nicholas bought a bottle of champagne for me, to put in the room before we arrived and supplied a birthday cake for breakfast! The rooms are huge and the whole place is really high spec. I can't recommend The Pickled Pheasant highly enough.

Never been here before, walked in and asked whether we were in pickled pheasant or Munch , a man replied so rudely and sarcastically, we almost walked out . Food had featherblade beef , very tender, dry mash virtually no gravy and no vegetables. Very disappointing as not cheap for very small portions, definitely would not return . Does this represent Holmfirth?

I took 2 of my friends for lunch. Beautiful sourondings. The food was amazing and plenty of it. Impressed with the selection of vegan and vegetarian options for my friends. Highly recommend the hummus and roasted red pepper toasties! Great service too. Definitely goi g back.

Superb evening as usual, very attentive young staff . Took our drinks ordered very promptly . Food came very quickly after ordering, all food was excellent . Can really recommend the pate and then the lamb burger and my partner ordered the fish and chips which she said were excellent . Not a criticism but would like to see the menu change a little more often or a bigger choice of specials !

The room in itself was lovely however there however it is impossible to sleep due the safety lighting. The room was lit up all night with the brightest green light making it impossible to sleep. We travel a lot and we have never ever been to a hotel that has this poor design and issue. Completely spoilt our stay. It is so bad you should be warned on booking and eye masks should be provided. Breakfast was really poor too, very small and over cooked. Not enough tolietries and not even hand soap in the room. A real shame and we will not stay there again and would not recommend.

Following a trip to Holmfirth Winery, 16 males on a day trip arrived at the Pickled Pheasant for an early dinner. Nickolas and his team could not have looked after us better. The food was delicious and the beer excellent. All the guys said they would go again without hesitation. It's a lovely place well looked after by an excellent manager and staff.

Had an overnight stay at Pickled Pheasant this week. Where do I start? Looks lovely and welcoming from outside even on a wet grey day! Lovely welcome on arrival from staff and taken to our room. We stayed in Quail room. Beautifully decorated… cosy and comfortable. Gorgeous bedding, spacious bathroom and great facilities! A great night sleep was followed by a delicious breakfast… recommend the pancakes!! Again staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful. Would highly recommend this lovely place! Thanks for having us…. I hope we will back soon!!

We visited for food only. We can’t comment about the rooms. The venue was attractive, bright and cheerful. Food took a good while to arrive. Place not massively busy. Service wasn’t attentive. Apart from the young man who was working there. A dessert / ice cream sale for our party was missed as my partner was left standing whilst 3 staff were chatting behind the bar. She rightly got fed up of waiting and we left. Food 4/5 Service 2/5
