We are so disappointed with the condition of this lodge after staying at 6 or more Darwin escape lodges previously The lodge was very smelly and dirty on arrival it’s extremely scruffy and unmaintained We reported it to the main office who was were helpful but unable to change our accommodation A lovely lady in the reception came to clean the lodge unfortunately the smell and scruffiness didn’t improve We had to call the out of hours to report our heating wasn’t warm enough we were advised that the heating is controlled by the park and cannot be turned up above 20 which is totally unacceptable the thermostat is in the kitchen area so switches off and the bathroom and bedroom stay cold Nowhere does it state the heating restrictions We have contacted Hoeseasons who were who we booked through waiting on a response Them

This lodge is unfit for purpose it’s filthy dirty scuffed and scrapped everywhere The smell was overpowering when we opened the door the staff at the park have very little interest Be aware the heating can only be used to a set temperature of 20 the park have locked the thermostats so if it’s chilly the lodges are cold This place has been a massive disappointment. I would advise to check if you are booking that you don’t get lodge 38

Beautiful location very tranquil, staff very friendly, lovely hot tub which is monitored daily by the staff. Comfy beds, chairs etc. Walk straight into the forest, on a bus route. Only constructive criticism is one frying pan not enough between 5 and the towelling robes are a challenge to dry could do with bigger airers. My 3rd visit and already have next one booked. Love it love it love it there

We stayed in Lodge 40. Very comfy and clean. There are scuffs and marks but it didn’t detract from the beauty of this place. The kitchen is well equipped. The bedroom spacious with a comfy bed. Now the niggles. This lodge gets no sun. If you want to sit out on the balcony and catch the rays, think again. It sits under some big trees. The sap falls on to the balcony, which was very dirty and attracted a lot of wasps. Not good! I did end up scrubbing the balcony with soapy water and the sweeping brush. The bedroom could do with a voile as the neighbouring lodge looks straight in. The bathroom window (even though it’s small and high up) has no blind or window covering. Yes it’s frosted glass but again, if you’re in the shower, you can be seen from outside. Our shower was stuck on hot for 3 days. I had to ask twice for maintenance to come and look at it, as it was unusable. We expected a welcome pack, user instructions for appliances, things to do in the area etc, but unfortunately there wasn’t anything. I hope the niggles don’t put you off, as this really is a nice place, but some things need addressing.

On arrival reception seemed friendly we were impressed with the site as we travelled through it the lodge's looked nice & the outside spaces were private. On entering our lodge we found the decor was in need of attention paint worn off & dirty marks all over the walls. As we looked further into our lodge we found it to be absolutely filthy. The chairs were covered in stains. The floor was covered in dirt, food & small bits of tissue that appeared to have blood on them. The kitchen table & chairs were absolutely filthy with food. The ensuite shower was again filthy and clearly hadn't been cleaned properly in a long time. The shower also leaked so we were constantly cleaning up water. By the time we had found what a disgusting state the lodge was reception had gone home leaving us no choice other than to spend our first day cleaning. When we did report it to reception they didn't seem that bothered or apologetic and just asked for the pictures to forward to housekeeping. I never even got a response to my email. Overall really disappointing.

Lovely comfortable lodge very well equipped the hot tub was very relaxing and well maintained, lot's of places to visit all within a 30min drive and a very nice walk into the woods via a path at the back of the site I would definitely come back again

Lovely lodge set in pretty surroundings. Great size for two of us. Well equipped, even down to a small bottle of washing up liquid. Bed was very comfortable and I am picky about that. Friendly staff, the hot tub was a lovely treat after walking around the area during the day. Excellent towels too!

Lodges not very big. Tv reception really bad. Not enough saucepans and no frying pan. Not very well equipped. No cushions in lounge very basic. No extra blankets for bedroom. Patio furniture not cleaned. No welcome pack for site or things to do. A lamp in lounge would be nice.
