The Beach Motel

The Beach Motel

📍 Lon St Ffraid, Trearddur
★★★★ 8.8 (103 reviews)

"We arrrived in the afternoon and we’regiven the keys to our room on top floor and offered help with our luggage. The room was large and clean extra pillows were available in the room. Towels were bath towels so nice and big. Tv worked well, beds were comfortable the bar and the service and meal were very good. There was some noise during the night sounded like teenagers but was not right outside our room. All in all it was very good and value for money. We’re used the hotel as a night before we went over to Ireland on ferry next. It was less than 10 minutes away by car so very handy."

"I am very grateful to this homestay because I missed the train, so it was already more than 9pm when I made the two transfers from Chester to Hollyhead, during which they emailed me and forgot to check on the train. The boss seems to be Indonesian, but very friendly, arranged a room for me, had to take a boat early in the morning, so it was not their breakfast time, he brought me milk, all kinds of cereals, juice, fruit. . . When the snacks, just put the keys in the room when you leave. For me, it is snow to send charcoal, if you want to spend the night in Hollyhead, you can go to their home, this town is not big, there are some small shops in the town center to solve the problem of food and clothing, the town house is quite distinctive."

"Staff were very helpful and supportive when our car broke down, we arrived very late and they let us stay longer while it was fixed. No frills but good value for £71 for family of 4 booked at last minute in an emergency. Comfy beds! Very close to port."

The Anchorage Hotel

"Hotel is winding down its bar and restaurant because the owners are retiring. It is best to contact the hotel before check in because reception is only staffed part time during the day. 9.30 - 13.00 then 16.00 - 18.00h. No cooked breakfast. Rooms are clean, comfortable and well maintained. Good value for money."

The Beach Motel ★★★★
"Lovely area, lovely welcoming staff, the outside could do with updating, not appealing at all, but the room itself is a good size, nice and clean, no issues at all, great location, comfy beds, very thin walls to next door, can hear every word"

"The staff here are unbelievable. So friendly and go out of their way to help. We asked to recommend somewhere to eat, we got so many recommendations. Nikki, suggested we had a takeaway and she would privide us with plates, forks and spoons. The staff couldn't do enough. This is our new place to stay when off to Ireland"

The Haven Guest House ★★★
"We had a lovely stay at the Haven Guest House before an early ferry! The room was clean, spacious and comfortable with a good sized bathroom and we had a fan to beat the summer heat. Well placed for the town Centre, only 5 mins drive from the ferry terminal and easy to get over to the marina side as well (approx ten minute walk). We couldn’t park outside the Haven (not enough space left) but there is a very affordable car park (Stanley) just next door with lots of room. Great spot for a stay ahead of a ferry trip - we’re only sad that our ferry left too early for us to sample the breakfast!"

The Bull Hotel ★★★
"Friendly staff Evening meal excellent Breakfast good Pub interior good Our room not worth the price we paid, blinds broken and slats missing, curtains very difficult to close, not rectified despite speaking to the manager, The whole area needs upgrading, the carpet on the stairs and corridor to rooms was filthy and gave a poor first impression, notices written on scraps of paper not professional, the lighting in the corridor is on a sensor which goes off to quickly, shower ok but too high and no where to put your toiletries, missing hook on back of bathroom door and bathroom smells of drains. We did make the manager aware of the issues"
