The Haven Guest House
9.4 (100 reviews)

The Haven Guest House ★★★

📍 The Haven, Marine Square, Holyhead

"We had a lovely stay at the Haven Guest House before an early ferry! The room was clean, spacious and comfortable with a good sized bathroom and we had a fan to beat the summer heat. Well placed for the town Centre, only 5 mins drive from the ferry terminal and easy to get over to the marina side as well (approx ten minute walk). We couldn’t park outside the Haven (not enough space left) but there is a very affordable car park (Stanley) just next door with lots of room. Great spot for a stay ahead of a ferry trip - we’re only sad that our ferry left too early for us to sample the breakfast!"

Trearddur Bay Hotel

Trearddur Bay Hotel ★★★★

📍 Holyhead, Trearddur

"The views from room were horrible . 11an check out not acceptable banging on your door just after 11 when you could only have breakfast at 10.15 Rooms were just okay ."

Orient B&B

Orient B&B ★★★

📍 Monraven, Porth-Y-Felin Rd, Holyhead

"I am very grateful to this homestay because I missed the train, so it was already more than 9pm when I made the two transfers from Chester to Hollyhead, during which they emailed me and forgot to check on the train. The boss seems to be Indonesian, but very friendly, arranged a room for me, had to take a boat early in the morning, so it was not their breakfast time, he brought me milk, all kinds of cereals, juice, fruit. . . When the snacks, just put the keys in the room when you leave. For me, it is snow to send charcoal, if you want to spend the night in Hollyhead, you can go to their home, this town is not big, there are some small shops in the town center to solve the problem of food and clothing, the town house is quite distinctive."

📍 South Stack, Holyhead

"Just visited one of the pods for two nights, with my partner and our small dog. The location is simply beautiful- quiet location with South Stack a short walk away. You are very lucky here to wake up to Coastal and mountain views and only being short car journeys from amazing restaurants (The White Eagle in Rhoscolyn, and the Sea Shanty in Trearddur Bay). The pods are very comfortable (compact but the perfect base for a short stay) and the fact that they give you all the possible amenities you will need E.g disposal bbq, fresh milk, tea, coffee, fruit and breakfast cereal, really just makes the stay. The en-suite bathroom is an added bonus. You can really tell the owners have thought about the little things to make your stay that little bit more peaceful, for example a black out blind and a silent mini fridge in the pod. There is also a lovely area out at the front of the pods with seating/bbq areas along with views out to sea. A really wonderful place to sit and relax in the evening or first thing in the morning. Thank you, we will be back :)"

Premier Inn Holyhead

Premier Inn Holyhead ★★★

📍 Parc Cybi, Holyhead

"The entire stay was a delight. I had seen comments about the state of the buildings render outside however, although this may make the building look less than desirable, it most certainly doesn't affect one's stay. It's clearly a design failure due to the local climate. The staff inside the hotel definitely make up for the outside. They are proud of their hotel and go to the extreme to make one feel welcomed and comfortable. My experience in the hotel and service industry makes me a fair judge, and I can personally recommend this hotel and nominate it as one of the best Premier Inn’s in the country. J.T"

Travelodge Holyhead ★★★

📍 Kingsland Rd, Holyhead

"We stayed at the Holyhead Travelodge last weekend as we wanted to see some of the Christmas markets and visit friends that had recently relocated to the area. The location on the hotel was perfect for what we needed, it was central to everywhere we had planned to go to. We had a minor issue with the room however this was dealt with efficiently and did not affect our stay at all. Every memeber of staff we encountered were amazing, friendly and helpful. My son has a variety of needs including autism and every member of staff was amazing with him. They acknowledged him as a person and spoke to him like they would any other guest. This for us is a really important thing as we don’t always have that experience within the wider community and this has definitely influenced our decision to return to this hotel in the future. The value for money was brilliant as we had booked quite far ahead of time. They don’t have a restaurant on site but they have a lot of local restaurants locally so this isn’t an issue at all. They also offer breakfast boxes if you wish to have one of those instead. Everywhere was very clean, we had an early check in and our room was ready prior to us arriving. Being next to a major road there was little external noise and you couldn’t hear anyone from inside your room. We would definitely recommend and we will be returning."

The Anchorage Hotel ★★★

📍 B4545, Holyhead, Four Mile Bridge

"Hotel is winding down its bar and restaurant because the owners are retiring. It is best to contact the hotel before check in because reception is only staffed part time during the day. 9.30 - 13.00 then 16.00 - 18.00h. No cooked breakfast. Rooms are clean, comfortable and well maintained. Good value for money."

"I chose this hotel because I had to catch a boat very early the next day. It's very close to the pier, and the cleanliness was acceptable, but otherwise it was just average. There weren't many restaurants to choose from around the area."

"We had an amazing stay at this lovely cottage. Although it was a small room, it was quite luxurious. It had a nice garden space with seating outside, so that was a plus. The location is perfect as it's right next to RSPB Cafe, Eilins Tower and just a stone's throw away from the South stacks. Paul was a gracious host and ensured that we had the most comfortable stay inspite of the inclement weather later in the day."
