The accommodation experience is clean but a little lacking in comfort.
This time we stayed at ”Chun Yu Man Ju” in Meishan, Chiayi. It is located in the bustling Chinatown and has a convenient location, but the overall experience is more like an ordinary B&B-style business hotel. If you expect more services or special experiences, you may feel a little bit lacking.
The room design is simple and refreshing, with beige and lake green colors matched with wooden walls. It is visually comfortable, but the space configuration is quite basic, with only a small table and a simple hanging area. The bathroom is separated into dry and wet areas, and has a bidet, which is nice. The homestay also boasts of having purified water for the entire home, which is also very good.
The following are some unfortunate things:
The price is high, and the cost performance is not high considering the facilities and the lack of breakfast.
There is no bottled water in the room, so you need to bring your own or go downstairs to the water dispenser, which is a bit inconvenient.
The small refrigerator in the room was not plugged in, and I found out there was no ice when I was drinking a drink.
Other factors include cleanliness and bed comfort. If you are just staying overnight and don't need much space, this is still a good choice.

This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. If you demand a high level of service, our guests have indicated that this hotel has excellent standards.
"A big thank you to Ms. Yi (staff member)! Not only did she greet us warmly at the entrance, but she also meticulously explained the hotel's surroundings, including sunrise times and the direction to view the sea of clouds from our room. Her biggest help was recommending some excellent, high-value restaurants and providing tips on what to look out for when visiting Alishan National Park. Wow! The breakfast on the second morning was incredibly rich, and from the outdoor terrace, we could enjoy a breathtaking mountain view. I would highly consider staying here again on my next visit to Alishan."

YYule TUNGIf you are traveling to Penghu, this hotel is also a convenient transit stop. My two friends and I took a taxi from Xinying Station and it cost about NT$700. There are convenience stores nearby for supplies and it is convenient; you can choose bus or self-driving to Budai Pier.
The overall hotel environment is comfortable, and a 4-foot bed per person is great!

Aasdfg25673The guesthouse was great overall. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and even reminded us that nearby shops close early so we could go for dinner earlier. The room was clean and free of smoke. In the morning, you can go to the 6th-floor observation deck to watch the sunrise – the view is amazing! It's great value for money and definitely a guesthouse I'd stay at again. 👍

Upon arrival, they warmly welcomed us in and gave us delicious tea, apple, snacks, and their good company. The room itself had amazing views over the mountains, tea plants, and sakura. The room was really big, equipped with a good shower and comfortable beds. We even got a free room upgrade and tasty breakfast with fresh fruits. Next morning we were taken on a tour over the Tea Plantation and the owner told us not only about the process but could give us information on all the other plants like coffee plants, flowers, etc. We really hope we can stay here in the future again.

GGuest UserThe facilities and cleanliness were excellent, and the towels were pristine white. The room was spacious, and the terrace offered a view of the mountain and sea of clouds. At night, the lights of Chiayi, a vibrant sight, could be seen from behind the mountains in the distance. The hotel's own tea garden is open for exploration. The ingredients for the evening BBQ were fresh, especially the vegetables, which were very sweet. After confirming my reservation, the staff contacted me via WhatsApp with hotel and travel information, responded promptly to my questions, and stayed in touch with me even before arrival. Every staff member was polite and attentive, preparing breakfast for us at dawn so we could take it with us to watch the sunrise. The hotel's surroundings were peaceful, and no noisy guests were welcome, so we could sleep soundly.
However, due to the low temperatures in the mountains, air conditioning is unavailable, including at the hotel. However, fans, electric blankets, and heaters are provided for use in different seasons. The location is a bit far from the Alishan Forest Recreation Area, a 40-minute drive away. However, most Alishan attractions require a car, so it's worth leaving early just to watch the sunrise, but it wasn't a major inconvenience to visit other areas.

The room is not air-conditioned, but because it is on the mountain, the air is very good and it will not be hot. The nearest town takes about five minutes to drive, and then the road is narrow, and the driving technology is not very good.

DDONGJUI’ve been busy and don’t have time to comment. I have time today to tell my heart. The boss is really nice, warm to others, and feels really at home. Just like at home, I really saw it on the day when I drove us to see the sunrise! It is cloudy again and can't be seen. Although breakfast is simple, there are also many convenient porridges to choose from. Bread 🍞 delicious porridge is sesame paste and other self-made porridge to choose from. Friends dinner is healthy and delicious. The boss helped with the luggage when he left. He is really an internet celebrity and he is so nice! Everyone is welcome to experience it.

GGuest UserAfter reading horror stories on google reviews, as well as on this platform, I thought I had wasted my money.
However, the opposite appeared to be true. The room was clean, including the bathroom (little to no signs of mold at all in my room). The room even came with a functioning sauna, which was a very nice way to relax after a long cold day.
Front desk asked me if I wanted a wake-up call which I gladly accepted - and they actually did provide the call. Though, setting your own alarm is not that difficult either.
Yes, the bed has a very hard mattress, but this is quite common for 2 to 3 star hotels in Asia. Yes, the water is only hot between certain times, but it's still warm enough after it.
The only true downside I experienced is that you can indeed hear everything from the neighbors, but then again, you only have 1 neighbor.
All-in-all, this place was well worth it given the scarcity of rooms/hotels in this area.
