Outstanding
GGuest UserThe lowest priced hotel in the whole UK, the best hotel, impeccably clean, tidy, exquisite and beautiful. The old lady is so friendly and friendly, and there is a Chinese lady. The breakfast is very rich and delicious.
Although not in the city, York is really small. It takes only 20 minutes to walk to the central scenic spot with the children and take a taxi for about 5 pounds. Very recommended.
HHoAbout 15 minutes from the train station, the location is a bit far, but the room is very good, downstairs is the restaurant, you can have dinner, the reception attitude is very good, you can consider staying here next time
GGuest UserThe staffs here are so friendly and the breakfast included is on point. You can have a full English breakfast and everything else on the menu as long as you can finish them all. The location is just fine, about 10 minute walk from the train station and to the city centre. However, in winter, I recommend checking in before 3pm because there is a forest opposite the guesthouse and it would be creepy to walk there when it's dark.
AAnissa_sasaA traditional and historical hotel with a perfect location in York. The room is nice and the bed is comfortable. Though it is an old hotel, it is not outdated at all and makes you feel good. The location is prime and there are lots of restaurants nearby and it only take a few minutes to walk to different attractions in York. The only downside is that there is a staircase in front and it will take you some energy if you bring along a large luggage.
WWing Ki JaniceIt was a very good experience staying in the Vikings. I would definitely go stay again next time I visit to York. It took us 15 minutes walk to the city centre and there is also some cafe and shops nearby.
JJiangThe temperature in the room was much higher than in the hallway and outside. The temperature on the day I stayed was between 15-20 degrees Celsius, and it was 15 degrees at night when I went to sleep. However, by midnight, the room was still as hot as 30 degrees, much hotter than the outside during the day, making it impossible to sleep. A fan was provided, but it was very old and noisy.
OonepiperA very suitable B&B. I booked a room with a bathroom. The price was a little expensive, but it was quite comfortable. The breakfast was very warm and the waitress was very nice~ You can also store your luggage.
The location seems remote, but York is not big and it is quite convenient to walk around. It is within walking distance to the train station, the entrance to the city wall, Minster and the butcher's street.
Attached are photos of the surrounding environment~
Ddashv1llWe had a lovely stay at Diamonds Inn. We booked the Standard Suite, Ensuite 3-bed room which is located at the top floor of the building. A very quaint compact en-suite family room great for a group of friends or family. All basic amenities are there including towels, shampoo and shower gels. There’s also an electric water kettle, coffee/tea, hair dryer and a small fridge! Beds are soft and comfy. Walls are thin and may hear voices of other guests in the halls during the day but was not a major issue during our stay, mostly quiet after 10pm. Location is very convenient as its only a stones throw away from one of the famous wall entrances, a pub and restaurant across and York Minster. Host was lovely and friendly as well, called to ask if we can get an early check-in and was happy to accommodate us.
TTLzThe hotel was in a lovely location. With efficient service. The rooms may benefit from a little upgrade of carpets and the beams were dusty. The room we had used a shared bathroom which was fine to use however it was a walk down some stairs which are carpeted not most hygenic. The fire alarm went off at 6am and it did take owner 7 minutes to arrive to response and check. After this we were able to return to rooms for rest. The hotel is 35 mins walk from centre of York lovely when a nice day.
GGaryRoom was nice and not too far walk from the city centre.
But after checking my bank account the day after I noticed the hotel had taken £50.00 from my account.
When I called to check, I was told it was a deposit to protect against damage to the room.
I was not made aware this was being taken and did not give any authority for them to take the payment.
I found this very concerning and I now have to wait a few days to receive the refund.
So please be warned before booking..
