SHINE INN (TST Metro Station B1 Exit) Reviews

The owner, an elderly gentleman, was very kind and thoughtfully introduced Hong Kong's local delicacies and transportation. The room was very clean, and the location was excellent. It's very close to Victoria Harbour and the Star Ferry. It's also just a ten-minute walk to China Ferry Terminal. The only downside is that it's located near a busy road, so the noise from cars and pedestrians was quite loud. Even with noise-cancelling headphones, I could still faintly hear the noise, but it's understandable given the prime location.

The room was decent, with two 1-meter beds that were quite comfortable for sleeping. The only minor issue was the bathroom's drainpipe, which wasn't working perfectly. We arrived at the hotel late at night, and the front desk staff handled our check-in seamlessly over the phone. The location is excellent; we walked to Victoria Harbour and the Avenue of Stars, and the next day, we also walked to the Hong Kong Palace Museum. There's a large HSBC bank right outside the hotel.

If you're on the bottom bunk, watch your head! A child playing forgot and bumped theirs. It's very clean and convenient, and the hotel owner is very kind. Right across the street is Red Tea Cafe, their pineapple bun with butter is delicious. The metro station makes it easy to get anywhere, though once you're in the station, you still have quite a walk, haha. It's super convenient for getting to the Avenue of Stars, Tsim Sha Tsui Ferry Pier, and Kowloon Park. Chungking Mansions is just a block away if you want to take pictures. Overall, it's a good stay! 😊

The owner of the accommodation was very kind and friendly and nice. He advised we on things they needed to know and be aware of. He tried to explain everything to us in detail so that we could enjoy our trip. The train station is right in front of the accommodation. It makes travel very convenient, and the bus stops are also nearby for many routes. There is a small 7-Eleven convenience store near the entrance to the accommodation. It's located near the famous Red Tea restaurant and it's near Best Mart 360, a place where you can buy a wide variety of snacks and souvenirs. just a short walk away. The rooms are clean and have complete amenities. Ideal for travelers who aren't focused on luxury and want to save money on trip.

Beyond its convenient location and good transport links, there's not much else positive to say. The room decor was basic, and the bathroom pipes were exposed! The 70-something-year-old man working there was like a strict dorm supervisor from my school days, with an average attitude and too many rules. It was an unpleasant stay.

Shine Inn has unbeatable strengths for its location, accessibility, and affordability. However, if you do not speak Chinese or Cantonese, I'd like to recommend you ask the room number and/or check-in process in advance. The owners, whom I didn't get to meet, seem to be nice. Unfortunately, a self check-in would have super challenging, almost impossible, if it weren't my colleague who could speak with the owner on the phone. What I'd like to recommend for Shine Inn is to put more instructions in English. Since it is now being promoted on Trip.com, Shine Inn will likely get more customers who do not speak Chinese or Cantonese.

This was my first time staying in a guesthouse in Hong Kong, and I chose it for its proximity to the Science Museum. **Pros:** The location is excellent – very close to the MTR station, the Hong Kong Science Museum, and Victoria Harbour. It was also reasonably clean. Situated in a lively, bustling area, there are plenty of dining options. **Cons:** The facilities and amenities are quite dated. Our room had bunk beds, and without handrails, getting on and off the top bunk was very inconvenient. The bed was positioned right against a non-opening window and the curtains. An old-fashioned air conditioner was mounted directly above the upper bunk, blowing cold air straight down. I worried my child would get sick, so I tried to turn off the AC in the middle of the night. However, there was no remote control, and I couldn't easily reach the unit. I had to scramble to manually switch off the old AC. After a while, the room became hot again, and I just had to tough it out until morning. Furthermore, disposable slippers and bath towels were not provided; we had to specifically request towels from the owner.

The room is a private bedroom within a suite, but it has its own bathroom. The environment is clean and tidy, and the beds in the family room are soft and comfortable. Given the size of the room and its location in Tsim Sha Tsui, this guesthouse is truly excellent. The owner is exceptionally warm and enthusiastic, providing helpful information about shopping and activities. The room even has a landline phone for easy contact with them, which is a thoughtful touch. Highly recommended!

The inn is in a very good location from the mrt and, a few minutes walk from many nice shops in the area especially food such as Red Tea restaurant, the famous keewah bakery. The airport express bus A21 also stops right in front. However the noise insulation is not that good as my room was facing the main door of the house, so whenever there are other tenants leaving the house early or coming back late, I can hear the main door bang and I am awoke. The air con works but there are also noises coming from it but not all the time. Overall a good stay for a few days.

The lady at the front desk was incredibly conscientious and had a great attitude – very easy to get along with. The room wasn't huge, but the hotel is right above Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station, which is super convenient. For this location and price, I'm extremely satisfied.

The room was tiny. While there are plenty of dining options nearby, you can't boil water in the room, and showers are limited to 7 minutes before the water turns cold. I was here for the Hong Kong Marathon, and check-out was strictly at 12 PM.

This place is super close to the subway, a really convenient location. There are also tons of food options downstairs. The grandpa who checked us in was incredibly nice and even wrote down a bunch of travel tips for guests.

The TV in the room was broken, and the communal water had to be boiled by ourselves. The washing machine was also out of order. The old gentleman's service attitude was quite good; he even recommended nearby eateries. The location is truly superb. It's quite good if you're just a couple on vacation, but I personally feel it's not very suitable if you're traveling with younger children. There's a 7-Eleven on the ground floor, which makes getting around very convenient. Across the street, there's a park where you can experience tranquility in the city.
