Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel

Whenever I visit Hong Kong, I always stay above Harbour City. This is my second time at Marco Polo. Since the hotel is a bit older, there are some unavoidable issues, like a slight musty smell, and in some king rooms, you have to shower in the bathtub. However, the location is excellent, the rooms are spacious, and the service is very warm and welcoming.

The location is excellent, making shopping incredibly convenient. The hotel features a pool and a gym, and there's a direct elevator access to the mall, which is perfect for shoppers. It's an older, established hotel, so the decor is a bit dated, but the breakfast selection is plentiful. That's about it.

Facilities: Very clean, but a bit old, as expected from a long-standing five-star hotel. Cleanliness: Quite clean, and they upgraded us for free to a deluxe king room. The bed was huge, and the room was also very spacious, which is truly rare in such a prime downtown location. Environment: The location is excellent. Right outside the hotel is a bustling area, and there's a shopping mall downstairs. You can buy anything you need and satisfy all your dining, drinking, and shopping cravings without even leaving the building. I really love the mall downstairs, haha, all my favorite brands are there. Service: The service was very good. As soon as we got out of the taxi, hotel staff quickly came out to help us with our luggage. Even when we went down late for breakfast, the restaurant thoughtfully reminded those who hadn't come down yet to hurry up and eat, instead of rushing people out as soon as the time was up. Overall, our three-day stay was a pleasant experience. My child also really enjoyed it; we walked her around the streets next to the hotel, looking for the 'horse' from the Year of the Horse. It was a lot of fun.

This was my second stay here, and I really like the convenient location. It's right next to Harbour City, and Victoria Harbour is just behind it. The high-speed rail station is only a few minutes away by taxi. The hotel is quite old, but it's very clean and hygienic.

When I booked, I requested a high floor, a quiet room, and a good sea view. Upon check-in, the front desk lady recommended a sea view room on the 15th floor. Although it was a bit smaller than the sea view rooms on lower floors, it felt larger than I expected once I was in it, about 20-something square meters. I borrowed a power adapter from the hotel, and they were very prompt in refilling bottled water for free during my stay. Aside from the room decor looking a bit dated, everything else was fine. The location is also very convenient, right next to the Star Ferry Terminal, Avenue of Stars, and Harbour City.

The cleanliness was subpar. In the evening light, I could clearly see dust particles floating in the air. There was also a lot of grime on the ventilation grilles of the bathroom door. Photos are attached.
