I am extremely disappointed with our stay at Hostel 16 in Chungking Mansions First of all, the bedsheets were not clean when we arrived. There were visible stains, and the area under the bed looked like it had not been swept for a very long time. The customer service was also very rude and unhelpful throughout our stay. My aunt even lost her winter jacket during our stay, and the hotel staff did not provide any assistance regarding this matter. I also had an accident inside the hotel because there were no warning signs placed in a hazardous area. This shows a serious lack of concern for guest safety. On top of that, we were asked to pay 300 HKD for maintenance and cleaning fees, but our room was never cleaned even once during our one-week stay. No one collected our trash, even though we placed it outside our door daily. We repeatedly requested room cleaning from the front desk for three consecutive days until we eventually gave up. Clean towels were never available. We had to use the same towel for seven days, and our bedsheets were never changed throughout our entire stay. Security is also a concern. There was only one lock on the door, and one night at around 10:30 PM, someone was knocking on our door without saying anything. We did not open it, and when we asked the front desk about it the next morning, they said they had no idea who it was. Additionally, guests are not allowed to take pictures or videos at the front desk because of a posted sign saying everything there is confidential. This policy seems to work to their advantage, as guests cannot document issues or gather evidence when problems arise. Overall, this was a very unpleasant and unsafe experience. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Very gross and disgusting hotel and unfriendly staff. The cockroaches are very nice and with alot, they tried to cuddle with me in bed. There is a smell of curry spiced **** in the whole building. Plenty of brown, white, red and yellow stains in the bed and sheets, very colorful like a rainbow! You never shower alone, there are always many kinds of fungi ready to party with you. By sleeping there 2 days I lost 10 years of my life.... don’t go there!

This place was awful, I only stayed one night and then left. It's truly uninhabitable and a complete waste of money. The room was tiny, the bedding wasn't even white, I didn't dare use it. It looks nothing like the pictures – it's much worse in reality. Plus, it's mostly foreigners here, I wouldn't recommend it for Chinese guests, it felt quite scary. The front desk only speaks English, and they don't understand Chinese, so if you don't speak English, you'll have a hard time. I suffered through one night and fled early the next morning at 7 AM. I'm never going back to Hong Kong; this accommodation was an absolute nightmare.

The environment is very poor, and the attitude of the front desk staff is very poor, Disgusting accommodation environment, the corridor of the room is full of luggage of Africans, Indians, Indonesians, and Indonesians, one of the most dangerous hotels in the world, I hope Chinese compatriots do not book this hotel, believe my sincere evaluation. 便宜没好货，好货不便宜 希望我的真诚的评价被国人看到能帮助我的同胞不再被骗。

Was room is very small but near to main city and can find easily Indian halal food in same building and reception is level 10..

Disgusting and to be avoided, the bedding, the smell the dampness the air is toxic in the room with no circulation, and they also charge 80 HKD for wifi and rotten towels

Great location steps from the metro. Smells bit like curry however.

The room was big and nice..I just have comment regarding the water exits in the bathroom..The water overflow and too slow to go down the exit.

Disclaimer, the pictures aren't what they look like in real life. I get that the accommodation is cheaper than others but it doesn't satisfy the basic minimum of hygiene!!! For that price I understand that it should be humble but not unsafe for human health.

Thank so much for accomodating us well though some of your services is not so good like there's no one cleaning the room for the 3nights we have stayed, still thank you for your warm welcome to us especially your front desk personnel 😉😉,, who is willing to leave our 5 Luggages for almost six hours,, thank you to you 😊😊😊
