Oasis Aurum 181 Hotel

Traveling to Hong Kong, my friend recommended this hotel. The location is very convenient, not far from bus stops and MTR stations after stepping out. For Hong Kong, where every inch of land is precious, the room size is decent, larger than I expected. It's also very clean and tidy.

The day before yesterday, I had some business on Hong Kong Island and couldn't get back to Fanling, so I decided to book a hotel in Sai Ying Pun (my old stomping ground, haha). It was around 10 PM. I opened Trip.com and saw that the WHC 181, which usually costs over 1000 RMB a night, had rooms available for just over 700 RMB [blushing emoji][blushing emoji][blushing emoji]! What a steal! I quickly booked a sea view room. When I checked in, the friendly front desk staff member thoughtfully upgraded me directly to a sea view suite worth over 2000 RMB [fireworks emoji][fireworks emoji][fireworks emoji]. It was such a pleasant surprise! The room was incredibly spacious. Upon entering, there was a large living room with a desk, fitness equipment, and a big TV. Then came the bedroom, which also had a large TV. As soon as I opened the curtains, the entire window offered a stunning sea view 🌊. The bathroom was located between the living room and the bedroom, featuring two sinks, a separate shower, and a toilet... The experience was absolutely fantastic! [wow emoji][wow emoji][wow emoji] So happy...

The hotel is conveniently located near the University of Hong Kong MTR station, just about a 5-minute walk. I booked a sea-view room, which was surprisingly spacious and well-equipped. The breakfast was exquisite. Overall, it was a pleasant and satisfying stay.

The hotel facilities are good, and the sea view is expansive. They also provide 3 free self-service washing machines and 3 dryers, which is a very useful bonus during the rainy season. For disposable toiletries, only toothbrushes are provided. Bottled water costs $2 per bottle. The skincare products are a classic body and hair care set from the Australian brand Grown Alchemist.

It's alright, and the service attitude is good. The front desk staff are also nice. The beds were changed, no dirt. There are toothbrushes, bathrobes, towels, and a hairdryer. Plenty of hot water. The space is decent, and the view outside the window is okay. There's a public washing machine, a gym, window views, a refrigerator, a TV, bedside tables, and a charging adapter.

The hotel itself was very good. It's a quick walk to the metro and there's a 7/11 right around the corner, though it is a bit far from Central in general. The only problem: you can hear the street noise quite clearly, and even after turning off the AC or ventilation, it's not quiet. There's always a buzzing sound. However, the view from the 19th floor is absolutely fantastic.

The sea-view room overlooking the harbor for a little over 1000 [currency unit] offers great value for money. Breakfast is 200 for one person, and also 200 for two, which is a very good deal. Unfortunately, my child wanted to eat breakfast elsewhere, so we had to skip it. When checking out, they mentioned a charge of 2 [currency unit] per bottle for the bottled water in the room. In any hotel on the mainland, this is usually free. In fact, in higher-end hotels, if you ask for two more bottles after finishing, the staff might even bring four. In comparison, this felt a bit stingy.

We booked a sea-view room, but it had a flyover and a courier hub right below, which made the sea view less expansive. On the night of check-in, the guy at the front desk was a bit stiff. The room size was quite generous, which was its biggest advantage. It had an entryway and a bathtub. Special shout-out to the bellhop on the first floor. He helped us with our luggage as soon as we arrived and was very enthusiastic when we left, even helping us call a cab. Thumbs up to the concierge staff at the luggage department!
