It's about a 10-minute walk from Terminal 1. The hotel is quite large, and the rooms are spacious by Hong Kong standards. There are purified water dispensers along the corridors where you can refill your bottle. Breakfast was good, with changfen, and made-to-order omelets and noodles, though the auntie making them was a bit lukewarm in her attitude. Other than that, everything else was pretty good, and you can see the airport from the room.

This is definitely the place to stay if you're hiking the MacLehose Trail! We were camping, so it was great to be able to leave our luggage here overnight for an extra HKD 20, which was totally acceptable and saved us a lot of hassle.
To get to the MacLehose Trail, you can catch the 289 bus right across from the hotel. If you want to shop for outdoor gear in Mong Kok, there's a bus stop downstairs that will get you there in half an hour – so convenient!
It's also super easy to take a bus to Sha Tin Plaza, which is a great place to explore!
The hotel rooms are spacious, and we even got an upgrade to a river view room. Opening the curtains to that river view was incredibly comfortable. The hotel's back exit leads to a food street and convenience stores, and the surrounding area is residential with a lively, local atmosphere. No need to squeeze into a tiny 'pigeon cage' in the city center; staying here really exceeded our expectations.
And the staff here treated mainlanders just like everyone else, which was a huge relief (I was genuinely worried about that beforehand, haha!)

The hotel lobby is beautiful. It’s large and open, very grand. Staff seem friendly and helpful, and speak great English so there’s no need to worry about communication.
The level 10 corridors are a little like being in a carnival hall of mirrors or a ****** which is odd (image of carnie corridor included 🤣)
The room is clean and spacious enough for two people who don’t mind being close.
I stayed in the room alone so it feels very section.
Great water pressure in the shower!! 10/10
A good spot for a layover for sure

The Regal Hotel was the biggest surprise of our Greater Bay Area trip, exceeding all expectations! While an older hotel, it's very well-maintained, spotlessly clean, and the bedding and mattress were incredibly comfortable and soft. The absolute best part is its superb location in Causeway Bay, offering excellent transport links. We arrived from Zhuhai via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, and the A11 bus takes you directly to the hotel. For our return to mainland China, there's a CTS (China Travel Service) bus ticket office right next to the hotel entrance. You can buy tickets a day in advance for easy access to Shenzhen Port, Shenzhen Airport, and various cities in Guangdong. During our stay in Hong Kong, we walked to Sogo, Hysan Place, and Times Square, and there were plenty of dining options nearby. To get to Wan Chai Pier for the Star Ferry, you can catch a 'ding ding' tram right outside the hotel, and the MTR station is also very close, making getting around incredibly convenient. Finally, a special thanks to the hotel for providing a birthday cake 🎂 and red wine for my friend, which made for a wonderful birthday celebration in Hong Kong.

The hotel is quite close to Kai Tak, just a 10-15 minute walk. There are also some decent restaurants nearby, though not many affordable ones; convenience stores offer the best value for money. The hotel breakfast is alright, but there's no in-house restaurant for other meals.
I'm not sure if it's because of all the construction around Kai Tak, but the air quality isn't great. The particulate matter content felt noticeably worse than back home (which was quite unexpected). The beds, however, are quite large; for Hong Kong, the size of a twin room bed is really good. The bathroom is acceptable; water pressure is fine, but the bathtub size… honestly, it's quite small. The toiletries provided are pretty bad (luckily, I brought my own). What's truly a first for me, even including my trips abroad, is that they didn't provide toothpaste, only chewable tablets. And the hairdryer (which was tethered) – the airflow was so weak… I can't say it was entirely useless, but it wasn't very effective.
All in all, the hardware is okay, but the details don't match its star rating. I only realized I forgot to take photos when I was looking for them – there really wasn't anything worth photographing.

Overall, I don't think it's as bad as some reviews suggest. For this location and room size, it's quite good, offering decent value for money. The hotel itself is a bit old, but the service and facilities are reliable. While the cleanliness and newness of the amenities might not match a newly built hotel, they are still satisfactory. The hotel sees a large number of guests daily, and the staff are patient and professional. Plus, there are plenty of dining, entertainment, and shopping options nearby. My last stay was at the InterContinental Grand Stanford across the street, which cost 1600+ per night. This time, the Regal Kowloon was 900+ per night, and I feel the value for money is comparable (I booked a room without a view).
If you prioritize convenience, choose a hotel near Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station. If you want more scenic views, go for the Grand Stanford. But if you're looking for good value, comprehensive facilities, and decent service, the Regal Kowloon is a solid choice.
