I stayed at many hotels, but the Royal Hawaiian was the best among them. The room was not large, but it was good with a classical and solid feeling. The bed was fluffy and comfortable, and I enjoyed it in my room. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. I checked in quite early because I was moving from another hotel, but the room was available and I was allowed to enter. I enjoyed the banana muffin service and free yoga lessons. If I had to say, there was no bathtub and slippers, and the amenities were different depending on the day. But I definitely want to stay again.

Review of Alohilani Resort where we stayed for 2 nights! Location: The location is really great. It's right in front of the beach, so it's great to play, swim, and come in from the beach There is also Cheeseburger Paradise, one of the top 3 burger restaurants in Hawaii, right next door. Maguros Spot, famous for its poke, and the famous Musubi restaurant are also nearby. Room condition: Clean, but cleaning is done once every 2 days I already knew about the cleaning part, so there was nothing inconvenient - I stayed here and moved to the next hotel, but they clean it every day! Was it good for nothing? Toothbrushes are not provided separately! I didn't even have slippers, so I brought them to my room. It's quiet, and each room has a balcony, so it's good to dry your swimsuit. Breakfast: Additional tips!!! (One star off because of him!) They said the breakfast was buffet style, so I even paid an extra fee (I thought it was 30 dollars per person). It was the worst breakfast of my life.. They say it's served like that on the weekends.. Give me a plate of fruit and a plate of bread and you're done! You can't choose the price, you have to eat what they give you. If this is the case, even if you go to a nice brunch cafe and eat it, the price is half the price and it would have been much more satisfying. Totally disappointing Additional facilities: Infinity pool is good. The infinity pool is good, and in the evening, do a DJ performance at the bar next door. There is a beam projector on the building side of the pool, and the atmosphere is good. At night, I bought a cocktail at the pub next door and ate it while swimming in the pool. There were many stars in the sky and it felt good. There is an abc store on the 1st floor, so it's convenient, and there's also Kai Coffee, one of Hawaii's top 3 cafes, so I drank one kai latte a day during my stay. Hawaii hotels are all too expensive - The entire stay was very good because I liked the location, facilities, etc. But no matter how much I think about it, the breakfast was too good - deducting one star.

The Ritz Carlton Waikiki delivers a true 5-star experience. From the minute you arrive to when you leave you are greeted by name whether in person or on the phone. Our special requests were either met or exceeded. The room was super-clean and well stocked with more than enough towels, robes and slippers, coffee and tea. Requests for more hangers, a bucket of ice or anything else were taken care of without delay. The bed was super-comfortable, as good as any I’ve experienced in a hotel. The staff were, without exception, professional, courteous and super-friendly at all times. We didn’t eat in any of the restaurants but the Dean and DeLuca store was a good source of pastries and coffee to bring back to the room. The view we had was ocean and, it’s worth noting, sitting on the lanai was a bit noisy, this is a very urban and busy location so the upside is it’s close to shopping. The adult pool fills up quickly so it’s worth getting there before the sun comes round. The very pretty beach is an easy 10 minute walk and the hotel provides beach towels and water at no charge. Chairs and umbrellas are easily rented on the beach. As there is a small kitchen we stocked up on a few snack and drink items. Do yourselves a favor, stay out of the over-priced ABC’s and head to the Waikiki Market the inventory and prices are way better. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Ritz Carlton and look forward to staying at the next one, maybe Maui?

First time staying here but definitely won’t be the last. So many people we met who were staying at the hotel were regular guests over many years and it wasn’t difficult to see why. A perfect sanctuary in Waikiki - close to everything but a luxury escape when you want a little peace and quiet We had an Ocean Suite which was spacious and very well appointed, but what made our experience was the the staff. Without exception they were first class and so many had worked at the hotel for 20+ years which says a lot. Already dreaming about our next stay and we have only just arrived home.

The location of the hotel is not on the main street, but it is also very close to the sea, just across the road. The lady at the front desk is very friendly, but the check-in time is after 4:00 p.m. We had to wait five or six hours for our early flight, which made me a little irritable. Most hotels in Hawaii check in at this point, and there will be a lot of people, so it is better to choose a flight to arrive at night, so you can check in directly and avoid the rush hour. The hotel is old and the facilities are very old, but it is clean. The room is very big, and it is a bit uncomfortable to fly from Japan. There is an infinity pool on the 6th floor of the hotel. It is not very big, but it is not bad. Next time I come back, I should choose a few new hotels on the main street. Oh yes, there will be fireworks on Friday night, remember to watch it~

The most satisfying hotel during the whole trip is indeed a five-star hotel. Although it is a little distance from wakiki, the hotel has everything, and I don't need to go elsewhere. Several of the hotel's own restaurants are unique and the food is delicious. There are many Japanese, and there are basically no Chinese. The driver who took us to the hotel said that the location of the hotel belongs to the rich area, and they also praised the hotel's reputation. The room itself is very large. Opening the window is the hotel's own golf course. I will stay there next time.

This's my first time booking through ”trip” app. I glad i did. Our room is corner views where we got both the view from diamond head and oceanfront. This's the best experience i have. We arrived at the hotel on a Friday night around 7pm Hawaii time. Didn't expect they were doing fireworks around 8pm. I got to see it right from my window view. Omg.....i was breaking in tears where i haven't experience of fireworks this close before. I wish they allow video reviews in here where i can share my recording of the fireworks to you all. My daily views from my room are the best everyday and night throughout our stay. We walked around the beaches, restaurants and stores around the hotel area everynight before bed. Anyway, thank you for the awesome experience and memories. Love it so much and totally recommend.

Don’t book a room cheaply! *Environmental location, next to Wakiki Beach and on the main road, it is very convenient to be connected in all directions. The room was comfortable and large. The two large beds with a good mattress. The complete toilet, although a bit small (you can brush your teeth and pee at the same time 😅). The room has air conditioning, safe, fridge and microwave. The TV is quite large. In addition, a balcony with two chairs and a table. Pity about the views and the noise. The views are on a street with a lot of traffic and the balcony glass did not insulate the noise, so you could hear the noise of cars and police and ambulance sirens all night long... Parking is not included and you they charge 28USD (+ taxes) per night. In addition, they don't guarantee you a place and if you arrive and it's full, they make you go to another car park. There are supermarkets and shops nearby and it's a 20-minute walk from the famous Waikiki Beach.

This hotel is perfectly located with all of the amenities you could want. Loved the filtered water station in the lobby in particular! I have to give a shout out to Taciana who cleaned my room each day during the duration of my stay. She always made me feel welcome and well taken care of. Thanks, Taciana! This is my daughter(5) and my favorite staycation spot for the last few years. The pool is wonderful, very relaxing and fun. The location is great for those who want to shop and dine at the Ala Moana Center. As we live on Oahu, Waikiki can be a bit too busy so if you are those who want to stay off of Waikiki, this is great as it’s at the edge of Waikiki, right by Ala Moana! We also enjoyed the free lei making with friends we made at the pool too.

So....got a great rate on Travelzoo voucher for 4 nights. This hotel has been remodeled and is still in process of completing some work in common areas. Starbucks opened when I was there, and Monkeypod will open in the future. Staff was fabulous! No complaints there. I was able to check in early and got a partial ocean view on floor 11. Room was spotless. My only complaint, and it's a big one for me, is the soundproofing. I should say lack of it! Doors are HEAVY and each open and shut on the floor nearby is a shock to the sleeper. Also, the wind whistled and the band and traffic comes right in through slider to balcony. The band stops at 9, so that was no problem, and very nice. But....I hated the door slams and other interior noises. If you are a light sleeper, I don't think you will enjoy yourself. I wore ear plugs. Location is superb! It really can't be beat. Pool is OK. The jacuzzi was kind of icky. One being closed the entire time, the other kind of grey and the one attached to the pool generally full of kids. No jacuzzi for me. Towels and loungers were readily available. No problems there. We did have a problem at restaurant/ bar with what we think was bad turkey or mayo on a club. My grandson and I got sick within a couple hours. Unfortunately for the maintenance staff there was some cleaning up to do in the bathroom. The staff responded immediately and were so nice about it. I cannot thank them enough. However, when I reported this to the restaurant manager in the morning I was not totally happy with his response. All in all, I would stay there again for what I paid for it.

This review has to do solely with the staff which is why I rated them 5. A separate response regarding the hotel itself will be posted at a later date. I specifically want to say that the staff over all were amazing. Even when there seemed to be chaos with the amount of people coming and going they were always helpful and went out their way to accommodate and assist me. If you decide to stay here, REQUEST MRS JOSIE FOR YOUR ROOM SERVICE!!!!! I cannot stress this enough. I came here for a surgical procedure that put me in a sling with very little mobility. I had meal prepped all of my stuff in preparation for the recovery but she was the only room service staff (mind you I had 3 different clean my room) that washed my dishes because she saw me in my sling. Multiple times the other employees cleaning my room saw me in a sling unable to move my arm yet they never washed them. Mrs Josie was the only one who did. Something so small but also so kind. I requested her clean my room for the duration of my stay and she was amazing. Again, I will have another post regarding the hotel itself but unfortunately I don’t have enough time because it’ll be a long one. Again, The staff is amazing overall.

Spent July 3, 2022-July 5, 2022, we are Kama 'aina's and did not feel the hotel extended any kind of extra Aloha for us locals. Also, very upset when I pre-booked the reservation through a 3rd party and as well paid in full, and on confirmation sheet states that room and everything else PAID ALREADY, WHEN CHECKING IN THERE WILL ONLY BE A BALANCE OF $46 IN TAXES. Well, when I checked in I was told that I would still need to pay $45 a day for the resort fees daily which totalled $85 I still would owe. Parking, I was told by the Front Desk would be $50 a night ( insane )!

What do I need to say? The completeness of the trip is greatly enhanced by the scenery of the sea and sky that changes every moment in the morning/lunch/dinner. The staff here are very friendly, and the shopping/restaurants are great, especially since it's in the center of the city. The sea can be reached on foot, so be sure to rent a sunbed/parasol/beach towel (free) on the first floor and go to Waikiki Beach 👍👍👍 My next trip will definitely be here 😍

The location was very good and the hotel facilities were clean and nice. I arrived a little early, but they did an early check-in, so I had a good rest. I checked out at 4:30 in the morning, but the staff was there even then, so I checked out comfortably. Teddy's Burger, ABC Mart, and Starbucks are all right next to the hotel, so it was really convenient. Parking was easy as there is a free parking area nearby and a zoo.

Booked this in 2019 for our 20th anniversary and had to cancel due to COVID and they said they would honor my booked rate for the next year. Had to cancel again and they honored my price for 2022! I was impressed with that. Hotel is in a great location-you can play in the ocean and see Diamond Head and we were lucky enough to spot two sea turtles. (one was a baby) You can walk to International Market Place, Al Moana shopping center, and Beach Walk Street with many good Restaurants. and Lewers Street. Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center down the street also. We didn't get a rental car and took an uber 4 times and had several tours booked where you get picked up and dropped off. Much cheaper than a rental car and having to pay $50 a night just to park the rental car at the hotel. Hotel was in definite need of a remodel. Was told would have a higher level room and put on first floor. We requested to move next day. Moved to 9th floor. Room was clean, hotel was clean, restaurant was very clean. People were friendly. Lots to do on Oahu. A lot of people here.

Our second stay at the Royal Grove Hotel in as many trips, and we continue to be impressed with this small family-owned business. The Royal Grove is one of the few who do not charge an amenity fee, which makes a big difference in one's budget. The rooms are spacious - the ones with lanais are great - we sat out on ours every morning and enjoyed the bird song that served as our alarm clock. The staff are very helpful, and we wish we had caught the name of the young woman who never seemed to have a day off. Thank you for being so accommodating. The pool area is really fun and great for small children and families. There are boogie boards and beach mats to borrow when you go to the beach, and the best part of Waikiki Beach is just 1 1/2 blocks away. There is a handy ABC store at the end of the block, and a grocery store a few blocks away. Most units have kitchenettes, which we made good use of to cut down costs, and the laundry is just off the main common area and is efficient and affordable. The Royal Grove has a sense of community we haven't found in other hotels and Wednesday nights from 7:00pm - 9:00pm are ukulele night with many attendees having played here for over 20 years. We've stayed a total of 18 days over two visits and this is where we make our home in Hawaii - it really does feel like home when you are here. We highly recommend the Royal Grove Hotel.

Booked this in 2019 for our 20th anniversary and had to cancel due to COVID and they said they would honor my booked rate for the next year. Had to cancel again and they honored my price for 2022! I was impressed with that. Hotel is in a great location-you can play in the ocean and see Diamond Head and we were lucky enough to spot two sea turtles. (one was a baby) You can walk to International Market Place, Al Moana shopping center, and Beach Walk Street with many good Restaurants. and Lewers Street. Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center down the street also. We didn't get a rental car and took an uber 4 times and had several tours booked where you get picked up and dropped off. Much cheaper than a rental car and having to pay $50 a night just to park the rental car at the hotel. Hotel was in definite need of a remodel. Was told would have a higher level room and put on first floor. We requested to move next day. Moved to 9th floor. Room was clean, hotel was clean, restaurant was very clean. People were friendly. Lots to do on Oahu. A lot of people here.

Even then, there's so little furniture in the room that you can't even see the TV cuz the lamp covers it up...you have to place the lamp on the floor to see the TV, when it works. Finally...manager....PLEASE stop pulling your mask down to speak with guests. You should know better.

It was convenient because there were bus stops to Poke Restaurant, famous pubs, and Alamoana Wilmart. The reason I chose this hotel is that I don't have to rent a car for a full-day tour such as Oahu Island Tour, Turtle Snorkeling, and Hawaii Folk Show Ruau, so I can sleep, so I pay hotel blood and stay at a famous hotel. Because there was no need. I was in the Wicolona Village, such as Big Ilan for 4 days, but I couldn't go to the hotel lounge or swimming pool because I was doing activities all day, and I couldn't see the famous dolphins, but I paid for the hotel blood and slept. It was so wasteful that I got this accommodation in Oahu, which is convenient for transportation, and I was satisfied with the choice. However, a very historical incident occurred and I filmed a movie that I will never forget. I laugh now, but how cool I was. On the first day, I was willing to eat beer and steak in the pub, so I left the card key at the hostel, and in the evening, there was no front desk, so no one opened the door. I can't contact the emergency contact network. . . Eventually, I asked for help with Trip.com online chat, but the hotel person said that I had to wait to read the email ㅠ. We went around the beach for 3 hours to find the bathroom, but we couldn't do anything, so we went back to our accommodation. On the roadside, we were scared to find out where the homeless appeared and started sleeping. This was the most amazing vacation! Staying at this Villa (B-709) was a dream come true. We had a perfect view of the ocean, the pristine lagoons and the beautiful grounds at the Ko'Olina Beach Villas. We spent so much time on the Lanai and just enjoyed the breathtaking view. The sunsets were spectacular! Meg was our main contact to make the reservations and answered my many questions. Our on-site hostess was Nicole, she greeted us at the front desk of the resort and showed us around the Villa and gave us lots of good information. Some of our favorites: Visiting the ABC Island Market - trust me - the food there is fabulous! We actually enjoyed the Prime Rib dinner on two different occasions. They have lots of yummy options that are very affordable. Some great activities in the area (for all ages) are: Train Ride from the Hawaiian Railway Society - only has train rides on a few days of the week. Of Course - Snorkeling in the Lagoons! We also saw dolphins (from our Lanai) playing in the ocean. We didn't get to take the Catamaran ride out of the Ko' Olina Marina, but it looked like it would be a great activity. Some of our family hiked Diamond Head and Snorkeled in Hanauma Bay - important information - you need reservations for both of these activities. We also visited a number of the beautiful Botanical Gardens and found new places to visit: Lyon Arboretum , Ho'omaluhia, KoKo Crater, Manoa Falls, and now our new favorite place to visit is Tantalus Lookout. (especially at sunset!) We really looked forward to going back to the Villa each evening. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfortable, and it has great air conditioning. The Lanai runs completely across the front of the Villa - from the Master bedroom, to the main living area, then to the guest room. The Villa had two nice sized bedrooms and bathrooms. Nice big dining and living room areas, fabulous kitchen with everything you would need to cook all types of meals. Many spices were available for us to use, plus they also had Tupperware, laundry soap, dish soap, paper towels, etc. The closet in the master bedroom had all sorts of great beach items - chairs, boogie boards, snorkeling gear and even a wagon to take everything to the beach! No doubt that this will be the only Villa we will book for future vacations. Thank you Meg, Nicole and Andre for the most wonderful vacation ever!! We had 4 nights at the Waikiki Monarch and found it to be a strange experience. We booked it through Booking.com and stayed in apartment 2703A. On the positive side, our apartment had an amazing view of Waikiki, right out to the ocean, as well as along the canal – very inspiring! The location also was very good, situated on the western end of Wikiki. It was only a 10min walk to the beach and about 10min over to Ala Moana Mall and beach park. There was a good internet-enabled TV with about every channel and streaming service you could want – really a nice setup. On the negative side, the apartment was not very well cleaned upon our arrival, especially the floor. A couple of the dining chairs and the couch were covered in stains and were downright disgusting. The apartment was lacking a few basics, such as bedside cabinets and dressers/drawers for storing clothes. I had to lay out all my clothes on the floor along the hallway wall. We also felt the lighting was quite dim in the evenings. The kitchen was small and outfitted with only the basics. The kitchen faucet was loose and about ready to fall off – a little basic maintenance would’ve been nice. Another thing that was odd was that there was no reception or other onsite staff which could be called on if required. We were told to collect our key from a little lock box. We arrived at around 1pm, and since we weren’t allowed to check in until the very late hour of 4pm, we asked if we could store our bags and were told we actually had to pay for bag storage ($5/bag) for the 3 hours. It’s the first time we’ve ever had the experience of having to pay for bag storage at the hotel while waiting for check-in! Not impressed! In any case, we won’t be staying here anytime soon. Not recommended – there are so many far better places to stay in Waikiki. Don’t make the mistake we did.

I ended up making a few reservations here thanks to the kindness and hospitality of the staff. A special thank you to Yulia for making my stay extraordinary, she had great recommendations, made great snax and drinks at the ”paniolo” a bar and Cafe located on site and was overall just so friendly and inviting to the solo traveler. Another special thanks to Dana, who kept me on constant supply of delicious speciality coffee! My room was clean, the hotel is charming and family owned, and it's location is exceptional. 5 stars and i will be visiting again :)
