Old and tired inn. Unkept with overflowing trash and equipment stored in a hallways. Breakfast was late. Advertising is very overstated. Pictures must be very old or doctored. When I wrote the innkeeper a personal note to express our dissatisfaction he just gave me excuses.

We booked this Inn months ago as part of a larger trip so we didn't have the benefit of seeing reviews from April and May 2025. We thought it was a B&B with delicious breakfasts as other earlier reviews stated. Check in confirmation email stated "breakfast is served from 8 am to 10 am." Day of arrival we received our check in instructions with a note that "due to rising costs we have made the difficult decision of simplifying our breakfasts", we did not realize what that meant. In the morning we were told that the store-bought muffins in the dirty plastic container and the small apples were free, but if we had wanted a yogurt parfait we would have had to order in advance and pay extra. ?? ! Trash in the dining area was overflowing onto the floor. We didn't see any other snacks or drinks (bottled water) available. We opted to visit the town and have breakfast at a delicious restaurant. 3 stars because the bed was comfortable, room was clean, and the Inn is a lovely house in a nice neighborhood. Please don't advertise as bed and "breakfast", maybe make it clear up front (when free cancellation is still available) that it is really a room with complimentary pastries and coffee available.

Terrible! Do not waste your money. The photos on the website have to be at least 10 years old if not older. The property is very worn and dated. The bathroom sink in the Secret Room has a ring of mold or mildew around the faucet. Nothing looks like it does on the website photos. Nothing cute and charming about the house. It’s more reminiscent of an old ******* house. And 20 mins before our arrival, we received a text stating they are in between seasons and not serving breakfast and the hot tub is out of service. I never saw a single staff person. Just a waste! Not worth the price they are charging. Avoid!

Very disappointing. We booked at this place because we heard their breakfast was totally amazing and because they had a hot tub. 1/2 hour before check-in time, they sent us a text message saying that their hot tub was no longer available and they would not be serving a real breakfast but rather bread and fruit. (The fruit turned out to be a bowl of small bruised apples.) If we had known ahead what this place was like, there is no way we would have booked there and paid the price that we did. Not worth it. And their communication with us was way too late. If they had told us earlier about the changes and offered to refund us, we totally would have. Instead, they waited until 1/2 hour before check in time. Location was nice, but our view was the parking lot, and neither the bathroom door nor the shower door worked properly. And no hot breakfast - which was a huge selling point of this place. And no hot tub - which was one of the things that we wanted for our anniversary weekend getaway. Very disappointing. We felt lied to and deceived. They offered a 10% discount for our trouble, but that was way too little and way too late.

We arrived to the Inn shortly after 9 pm after 2-3 hours of driving. Finding the parking lot to park was difficult but we managed. It was nice to just be able to code into the main door to enter as well as into our room. There were a lot of things that are not fixable just due to the age of the building (like creaky floors). We stayed in the "Secret Room" on the first floor and could hear guests walking around on the second floor which was distracting. We were only there to sleep for the night and were up and out pretty early the next morning so I can't speak to the breakfast availability of the Inn but wanted to highlight a couple of pros and cons of our night: Cons: The string lights that were hung up on the wrap around porch of the Inn (picture included), although beautiful, were incredibly bright and steamed into our room. One of the photos I attached was taken at 10:30 pm. The blackout curtains did a great job of filtering out most of the light, but as you can see, with the lights on it looks like it's daylight outside. Which made it incredibly difficult to fall asleep. There was no hand soap provided in the bathroom. Pros: The bed was incredibly comfortable. Which helped be able to stay asleep (once we were able to fall asleep). Just for note: The room provided a couple of robes, ironing board, and heater in the closet.

This is a beautiful home with lovely gardens and rooms. We enjoyed our stay. It was an drive to the business district, breweries and down to the river. The Secret Room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the attached bathroom had plenty of counter space. There is a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker in the room. The common room and porch are very pleasant, and the owners provided access to plenty of guide books for hikes, flower identification, kids activities, games, and lots of printed information to help enjoy the area. They had just transitioned away from serving a full breakfast when we stayed. Instead, they provided slices of cake and fruit for breakfast. (The addition of plain or lightly sweetened yogurts with nuts for protein might have been nice). While this was a surprise to us, there were benefits to not feeling like we needed to wait around for the breakfast that used to be served at 8 am. We enjoyed an earlier breakfast at one of their recommended places (Bette's- open at 5:30), which allowed us more time to explore our favorite hike of the trip -- the Memaloose hills wildflowers -- before the trail started to get crowded.

House has lots of character, Victoria and the chef were great. Bathroom VERY dirty. I don't think the back patio has been cleaned for weeks.Signage could be updated to look professional (Not a marker) For the price I would stay somewhere else. We had to ask for shampoo and hand soap. No coffee in tin. The breakfast was amazing!

Walkable distance to downtown Hood River which was lovely. Good communication from hosts via text message and check in was an easy process with very clear instructions. The carpets throughout the home were dirty and stained with rugs that appeared old and worn. Most furniture in the communal space were covered with various blankets and tablecloths that did not appear clean. Area outside of the garden suite was cluttered with home supplies and miscellaneous items that were covered in dust.
