Had to wait while one of our 2 rooms was made up but the room that was supposed to have been made up had only had the beds done. Toothpaste splattered across the bathroom mirror, toilet unscrubbed, no face washers, hand towel or bath mat though there were fresh towels on the beds.
The kitchen hadn't been done as there was no dish cloth or liquid for cleaning only 2 tea cups, no mugs and the fridge contained half eaten yoghurt, a full bag of grapes and a 1/4 of rotten watermelon its juices all crusted under it.
The well frosted freezer contained a partially eaten iceblock frosted into the freezer, obviously it had been there long enough to be frosted to it.
The kitchen had not been stocked with tea coffee sugar or most importantly for me milk (being a little fussy I bring my own tea and coffee)
I have doubts about if it was vaccumed due to the pills as several other items on the carpet. I mention the pills as we had young children with us.
The aircon remote had no batteries or back to it but we just swopped out the batteries for the T.V. remote
The cleaner sent to remedy this politely made it clear that she wasn't the one who'd made up the room. She cleaned the mirror restocked the face washers, hand towel and bath mat, removed the food from the fridge and freezer and upon request gave me a cloth for me to scrub off the crusted watermelon juice.
The beds were clean (I checked) with fresh sheets and comfortable. They were clear that they expected courtesy to others by not making alot of noise late at night or slamming doors. The pool area could have been cleaned. I don't know where the dirt came from but it was there when we arrived and still there when we left. The lobby chairs I wouldn't sit in, needed a good scrub with soap and water.
They unlocked the freezer at the Cafe late one night for us to buy ice cream. The staff were helpful and polite. The kids loved playing ping pong and swimming.

Firstly, the room was excellent, ultra clean with bath and shower. The sheets were exemplary, bed very comfortable as were the pillows.
Bar fridge and microwave, toiletries in the bathroom.
Towels excellent.
Airconditioning excellent.
I was excited to see a very large, modern wide screen TV with onboard Android system.
Disappointed that no internet connection (so I could have used my own passwords for my streaming services.
Even more disappointed that there was no aerial connected, but I had brought my own tech and internet. I just switched off the TV.
Imagine my extreme displeasure to board the 3rd floor lift at 05:00 to have the doors closed - but no button worked!
I WAS TRAPPED IN THE LIFT!!!
I pressed the yellow emergency button for 5 seconds - no answer - pressed multiple times.
I phoned the hotel main number, so they could press the lift call button - no answer.
I phoned the 24/7 emergency 1300 number. The operator said she would send someone out - who would phone me with an ETA.
Getting anxious, being 60 years old with a heart condition, I dialled 000 to call the POLICE!
The dispatcher commended me on remaining so calm.
I assured her, being very hot in cramped spaces with very little air was definitely not conducive to my remaining calm.
They said to call 000 back if I got out before the fire brigade arrived.
Five minutes later I heard voices outside. Someone heard my banging on the lift doors and cries for help.
I GOT OUT
That night the guy on reception said sorry.
I explained that, although the room was marvelous - and that I did eventually get out, a man of my age and I'll health could have died - why wasn't anyone on duty to answer the damn lift emergency phone?
He said he was sorry.

We only spent a night there but it was a magical location. Beautiful views of the canals. Glorious sunrise. Excellent attention. If we ever need to stay in the Gold Coast then this hotel will be in the list.

I booked this hotel because of the location, wanted to be near by my friend’s house. From the checking up and till check out I was so annoyed.
For starters receptionist was so rude, checked in then it was so hard to find my room, it’s like a maze with stairs here and there, imagine you are dragging your luggages!
Broken tv, broken door handle, dirty bathtub
So over all, not coming back and would not recommend

Love the view from room. You need to walk a bit far from the receptionist. There’s no small spoon for us to make the coffee and no phone in the room. Got someone knocked our door at night. When we checked, no one outside.

The buffet breakfast was a great price but bayonets needed to be kept warm as the food was semi warm to cold made the experience and taste unpleasant. Also our toilet was hard to stop running so services on the rooms need a little more care. Overall staff were friendly and helpful and kind and we would stay here again.

A good 3-nights stay. Happy to enjoy a bbq with the free use of stove at the outdoor area of the restaurant.

Definitely value for money. The room was clean. The pool and spa were freezing cold. Not heated at all. The kids had a lovely time. The location is very nice.

A great hotel within easy drive to all the shopping and the fun parks we were visiting , cafe and bar on the ground floor was super convenient and the rooms were more spacious than I was expecting . I can highly recommend the Hope Harbour Hotel to anyone looking for a central point to explore the Gold Coast from .

I was quoted $297, I was charged $301.50.
I booked for 2 adults but was informed at checkin the booking was for 2 adults and 2 children.
The accomodation was pretty good for the price.
