We booked this hotel because it advertised a restaurant and bar. After a busy day we arrived to find no bar or restaurant. Staff were friendly but could not help. Room clean but no air-conditioning so it's stuffy and as the hotel is right on the busy A127 opening the window makes it very noisy. We bought sandwiches from a nearby m&s and had to eat them in our room because there is no social space. Can't get the WiFi to work either Disappointed There will be discussion on the price in the morning

Booked to be nearer London for a hospital appointment the next morning. Arrived to a very busy hotel hosting a huge wedding party who had taken over the hotel. I was not advised in advance there would be obvious disruption to my stay and would not have stayed here if I had known as needed a relaxing stay before a stressful trip to London. The room itself was very nice apart from the aircon was set at 23C and you cannot control it. Returned from dinner to feel very intimidated by the wedding party who obviously felt no one else should be at the hotel. Went to bed early as I had an early start and was woken repeatedly by people shouting, children screaming and running up and down the corridor. There were people outside my window shouting through the night. At one point someone was trying to come in through the connecting door which was only locked by a small flimsy bolt. Things really kicked off after midnight with people hammering on our door, I could see it was people from the wedding party who perhaps thought they knew people in my room but they were very angry and it was frightening. I got barely any sleep. The next morning the police had cordoned off reception and I was unable to check out or speak with anyone, a cleaner took my key card and said there had been fights. I then found my car blocked in and the whole car park was full of broken glass. I was late for my appointment and very stressed. I realised I had forgotten my charger in the rush half asleep trying to leave. I had no contact from the hotel who obviously had no concerns for their guests who were staying in this horrendous situation. After a lot of chasing after a month I was eventually given a refund (initial offer was a goodwill gesture instead of a refund which I declined) I spoke to several people requesting my charger to be returned as I lived too far away to collect and to chase the refund. The only helpful person I spoke to was Heena, 5 stars for her brilliant customer service and getting things sorted, thank you again Heena.

I had no contact from the hotel who obviously had no concerns for their guests who were staying in this horrendous situation. This was a week ago now and the hotel's current response has been an insulting offer of a goodwill gesture which I am yet to hear what that is but do not want to return and that I can make the 100 mile round trip to collect my charger, no offer to send it to me as an apology for everything that went on. I have requested a refund as I do not expect to pay for such an awful experience but do not expect them to do the right thing and refund me.
