Hua Hin Euro City Hotel

This is the first time in my entire travelling life all over the world that I encounter bad bugs, not once but twice. For a start it was my mistake to choose a fan type dormitory during the extremely hot month of April. Secondly, been the eve and 1st day of Songkran, the loud music from the celebration nearby occasionally even shocked the room (this of course is no fault of the hotel management and fortunately the loud music stopped around midnight). We, in the dormitory, were given a very narrow and thin type of mattress. That I have no complaints as long as it is clean. Due to a long day, I decided to sleep early at around 9 pm. From 10 onwards, I found that I was bitten in a few places on my body. At first I thought it was mosquito bites so I applied mosquito repellent and Tiger balm to try to stop the itch. By midnight I really couldn't stand anymore and went down 4 floors to the ground floor reception and complained. I was offered another bed in the next room. After that things seem to settle down. In fact I like the second room so much that I asked to change to a middle bed right under a fan. I thought that was the end of it. The next day I went out exploring Hua Hin. Later I was having lunch at the McDonald's and I started to feel itchy again in a few places on my body., in some hard to reach places as well. So I went inside a toilet and carefully examined my body and backpack. Here I discovered no less than 5 bed bugs that have been tagging along. I killed all of them with some satisfaction. Later in the afternoon, I dared not use the room any more and retreat to the common area at the reception. I tipped out the content of my bags and examined carefully along the seams of my bags to ensure no bugs are hidding there. At about midnight I gladly left the dreadful place to catch the overnight train to Bangkok. I have in fact paid for 2 nights stay but on the 2nd light I dared not lie downon the bed!

Accessible location - as it is near the railway station, the beach and the Hua Hin night market. You get what you pay for, as the hotel building is quite old & some areas of the hotel wasn't kept clean but it is pretty much safe and okay for budget travellers & short-stays (we booked this for 1 night only). Initially, it didn't seem too good on the eye. Walls were a bit old, and it wasn't a fancy room at all. Give it some time and this small niche might feel as cozy, if not luxurious. There's a little balcony as well if one likes an evening drink or just to lounge. Internet is pretty good. Considering it's a hostel-cum-hotel, it was pretty quiet and calm. The location is somewhat good and makes it accessible to markets and other touristy spots around. You can walk east to meet the beach after 20 minutes. I think I might come back here. For solo travelers, it's a good recommendation (2-3 nights max).

I would rate this hotel 3 stars. The price is affordable, there is parking available, and the location is convenient for getting around. However, the building and the room feel quite old, and there is no elevator, so guests need to use the stairs. Overall, it is acceptable for a short stay if you are looking for a budget option.

No kitchen facilities at all no microwave, no left ,old furniture like 100nyears old no connection to YouTube nor Netflix some cockroche it was like I was in jail , suffocating
