The Standard, Hua Hin

This was my first time in Hua Hin, and I chose the pool suite at The Standard, Hua Hin, to celebrate my birthday. It certainly didn't disappoint! The room was clean, and the staff were very friendly. There are also many free facilities available at the hotel, and it's just a 5-minute walk directly to the beach.

I loved everything! The service was excellent, and the staff were incredibly lovely. The place and room were very clean, and the breakfast was delicious. I will definitely go back and stay again. I'm sure to return! 💛

I chose this hotel myself, primarily because of its beautiful, vibrant, designer, and upscale colors. Seeing the hotel staff's uniforms, I wondered if the Asaka in Beihai copied them? The hotel has a strong resort vibe, and the open-plan lobby makes guests feel very relaxed. The rooms are spacious, with an overall Scandinavian feel, and the bathroom facilities are excellent. Breakfast is abundant and high-quality, mainly featuring local and traditional European dishes like Italian. The bar is a favorite among foreigners, who mostly spend their evenings there drinking and chatting after a day by the pool. Oh, and the pool bar is very distinctive; we spent two whole days there. The multi-tiered loungers extend to the sea, and the beach stretches far to both the left and right, allowing you to walk a long distance even during high tide in the evening. Finally, the overall location is great, within a 10-minute walk of Hua Hin Night Market and the old train station, and taxis are easily accessible. In summary: A truly impressive all-rounder.

The hotel is relatively new, with a predominantly yellow decor, giving it a stylish feel. The room was quite clean, but it was a bit far from the restaurant. Breakfast was good, and the coffee was delicious, but it only ran until 10:30 AM, which was a bit of a shame. The pool was quite small and lacked entertainment facilities, just a tiny basic pool. The beach wasn't particularly clean, and there were many horses, making it quite smelly. You also need to be careful of jellyfish in the shallow waters. Overall, I was quite satisfied.

First time in Hua Hin, a city where you can truly relax. This hotel is great, perfect for a week-long vacation. The only downside was the bacon, it was too hard. 😀
