Kunlun International Youth Hostel (Huangshan Youth Hostel)

Your typical cozy hostel! Loved the interior design in the public space. Lots of snacks and water to take for the hike! The beds are pretty private with the curtains completely sealing you off from everyone else. If you have any questions or concerns about your trip to and back from Huangshan, the front desk people can gladly help you, referencing this big map painted on the wall! One thing you should pay attention to is that the regional bus to and from the long distance bus station and the hostel ends earlier at around 5pm, so if you arrive after that time, you can either take a didi or do a 35 minute walk it’s a pretty nice walk).

Excellent location and easy to find. Their dog, Pirate, is absolutely adorable and such a cuddle bug. They have an easy to use luggage storage with free-to-use washers and dryers next to it. The hotel allows you to taste test the cookies they sell and there's always something pleasant playing on the movie projector in the common area. It's also very convenient that when you add them on WeChat you immediately get all the information regarding the mountain (however, some information seems to be incorrect as it says the last downbound bus is at 17:40 when my and my partner were still able to take a bus down at 18:10 and there were still many people hiking behind us so I doubt that was the final bus) The room was clean, however, we changed rooms after our first night and our second room did not have any big towels. We asked the people at the reception for food recommendations in the area and they could only give a vague recommendation of "turn right" rather than anything specific (which was a shame because we later discovered there was a very highly dianping rated restaurant just a bit further than 'turn right' with delicious food). All in all it was a pleasant experience.
