We were a group of 8 people and had an unforgettable stay here. The hotel owner is one of the kindest and most helpful people we’ve ever met. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us warmly, gave us great local recommendations, and even personally drove us to each destination!
On the day we went hiking in the mountains, he provided us with free walking sticks. He helped us with everything — arranging transfers, buying entrance tickets, and planning the route. He also allowed us to check in early and check out late, which was incredibly convenient.
I shared room 8303 with my friend. The room is designed for two people and had two separate beds, both very comfortable to sleep in. There was also an air conditioner in the room, which made our stay even more pleasant.
Another thing we’re super grateful for — the owner kindly let us do laundry. After hiking in the mountains, our clothes definitely needed it!
The view from the window was absolutely stunning. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, full of natural light, and have plenty of power outlets. The showers were great, with clean water and convenient showerheads. There were all the necessary toiletries: body soap, shampoo — we recommend bringing your own conditioner if needed.
The hotel can also prepare food for guests. We really enjoyed the tomato and egg noodles — delicious and homey.
There’s also a local café nearby where we had breakfast a few times.
The hotel is located in the mountains, perfectly positioned for visiting nearby attractions, waterfalls, hiking spots, and even riding quad bikes.
A tip: bring a good quality raincoat if you’re visiting during rainy weather!
The owner speaks basic English, and even though it wasn’t easy for him, he patiently explained everything to us in English with so much kindness and care. He truly went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable — even helped us search for a lost phone in the mountains!

The hotel is located below the Yuping Cable Car station, about a 10-minute walk away. From the window, you can see the Renzi Waterfall, with a remarkably clear lake nestled beneath it. They provide shuttle service to and from both the Yuping and Yungugu Cable Car stations, as well as the parking lot. Free raincoats and hiking poles are also provided. A complimentary breakfast and dinner are offered daily, along with tea tasting sessions, making for a truly pleasant and comfortable stay.

On Friday evening, as soon as we got off the car, two lovely ladies came to greet us. I had pre-ordered dinner on the way, so we could enjoy fresh, hot food right after settling in. The dishes were made with natural ingredients, and their homemade rice wine was incredibly delicious. We stayed for two nights and had all our breakfasts and dinners at the guesthouse – so yummy! Due to a small mishap, the owner even upgraded our room to a loft, which made my child excitedly exclaim it was a 'princess room'! Overall, the experience was fantastic. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit.

The Anhui restaurant across the street, recommended by the owner, has great food and is affordable. The room is spacious with plenty of hot water, perfect for families, featuring one large bed and one 1.5-meter single bed. The decor has an industrial style. It's a very cost-effective option for a family of three. The owner's pick-up and drop-off service was also warm and punctual. 'Climb Huangshan and no other mountain is worth seeing' – what a perfect end to the trip!

GGuest UserMy family and I (5 of us) recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming homestay in Hongcun for two days and one night, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The building, steeped in history at 400 years old, is located relatively close to the West entrance, making access a breeze. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean, and well-kept. Although I initially booked three specific rooms, they were unavailable due to renovation. However, I was provided with three other rooms that turned out to be more spacious, which was a delightful surprise.
The lobby felt incredibly welcoming, with a cozy living-room-style atmosphere. There’s a lovely café to the left and a souvenir shop to the right, adding a nice touch of convenience and charm as you walk toward the living area. Wan Jie (elder sister Wan), the host, was truly hospitable and attentive. Her warmth shone through from our first phone call, which she answered cheerfully while helping arrange our pickup, as cars aren’t allowed into Hongcun, a UNESCO Heritage Site.
One of the highlights of this homestay was the restaurant nestled in a ”secret” garden—a serene and picturesque spot where my family and I could have happily spent more time. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, adding to the overall experience. Though it was too cool to use during my visit, the homestay also features a pool that would be perfect for summer days.
At the end of our stay, Wan Jie went above and beyond by accompanying us to the village exit to wait for our driver, ensuring everything went smoothly before saying her goodbyes. It’s rare to experience such personalized hospitality, and it made a memorable impression on us.
Based on my positive experience, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Hongcun. It’s a unique blend of history, comfort, and genuine hospitality that truly enhances the visit.

GGuest UserStaying at Baiyun Hotel during my trip to Huangshan was an absolutely fantastic experience! Its location is truly 'center stage.' Situated right in the heart of the Huangshan scenic area, I could open my window and marvel at the incredible peak forest landscape. Especially in the morning, with the clouds swirling around the peaks, it felt like a fairyland – perfectly capturing the essence of 'the mountains are more beautiful with clouds, and like a painting when the clouds are gone.'
The hotel's service was impeccable. The staff were warm and attentive, treating me like family. They even arranged for someone to look after me during my excursions, allowing me to fully enjoy the stunning scenery without a worry. The room was spotless and well-equipped. The bedding was soft and comfortable; after a day of exploring, sinking into the bed instantly melted away my fatigue. Plus, the room had excellent soundproofing, ensuring I could get a peaceful night's rest.
The hotel's dining was also outstanding. They offered a wide array of local specialties; the unique flavors of Huizhou cuisine were unforgettable. Every dish was like a work of art, perfect in color, aroma, and taste. My trip to Huangshan was made even more perfect by staying at Baiyun Hotel. We took the 'South up, North down' route to avoid the crowds, ascending via Yuping Cable Car at noon and descending via Taiping Cable Car. We arrived at Xihai Hotel around 5 PM. The front desk staff were excellent, quickly checking us in and providing detailed information about the facilities and activities, which was fantastic. They even upgraded our room! The restaurant offered a wide variety of buffet options, and there was a folk culture performance in the evening. They also provided a sunrise viewing service in the morning. If I have the chance to visit Huangshan again, I will definitely choose Xihai Hotel.

AAnonymous UserIt feels especially suitable for self-driving, with mountains and rivers, and a stream at the door, where you can go rafting in summer. The hotel room is very clean and quite large, with a terrace. The owner raises stream fish, and if you stay there, you can ask the owner to braise the stream fish, and the white thick soup will be delicious. The wild fruit tofu is also very delicious, and I basically finished the whole plate. At the end, the owner also gave us a big pumpkin (originally my mother wanted to buy one), and arranged for us to park the car at the foot of Huangshan, saving us money.
