J·Mountain Hotel

Huangshan|2.17km from Tiandu Peak
Our stay at the J. Mountain hotel was beyond our wildest dreams. I rarely leave reviews but our 3 nights here were so stunningly exceptional that we felt driven to express our gratitude and appreciation for the stellar staff, service, and beautiful setting of this hidden gem of a hotel. The service was without exception some of the best if not the best I have ever experienced at a hotel, and I travel often, having visited over 20 countries in the last few years alone and stayed at many beautiful and well-known five-star hotels and brands. Despite being a very young hotel (having just opened in September) J. Mountain Hotel holds its own and then some. It began months before our stay when we reached out to the hotel on WeChat to ask for guidance on equipment, tickets, and transportation. As we are visiting from America the area isn’t necessarily the easiest to access or plan for. Responses were almost immediate no matter when we reached out and always went above and beyond. For instance, my mother is nearly 70 and although very active was worried about slipping and falling while hiking in icier conditions; they offered to even purchase crampons for us should we wish although they advised us we would not need them for the time of year we were here (they were right). While here their thoughtfulness included texting us updates on and warning us about inclement weather while we were hiking around Huang Shan (there is cell service), drying and fluffing our wet gear when we returned from a particularly wet hike, and most astounding of all resolving an incredibly stressful issue we had with an upcoming flight that had been canceled (they suggested and secured alternative means of transport to a second city and then arranged for a different flight with the airline directly). We must specifically give our thanks to Hotel Manager Ryan, who is young but clearly extremely talented and excels in his role. He not only oversaw and proactively sought to help us on every front but was responsible for resolving our flight emergency. He also clearly had directed staff to help us to their utmost ability at all times, including having breakfast and dinner ready for and served to us at the times we requested. Ryan also personally met us and gave us a tour of the hotel and its history and design, as well as accompanied us to the art gallery and an evening tea tasting held in the gorgeous tea house on the grounds. He checked in with us every day and night and made sure everything was to our liking. Driver Wang Kai was our personal chauffer throughout the stay and was extremely courteous, professional, and attentive; he was always there to pick us up and see us off at multiple locations throughout our trip and not once were we ever allowed to wait. He even brought us hotel slippers and large down jackets to change into out of our soaking wet gear when picking us up at the end of a hike. When we said we did not think we would need some of the gear they offer their guests, we noticed he packed it in the car just in case we changed our minds and needed them later. I could literally go on and on but wanted to make sure I left room to appreciate how beautiful the hotel itself is and how much attention to detail has gone into its design and planning; at almost every turn we discovered something that added to the ease, enjoyment, and comfort of our stay. J. Mountain Hotel, thank you for one of the best experiences we have had in many, many years.

UPCLOUD SHILIN VILLA

On the mountain Huangshan|2.79km from Tiandu Peak
The second time I stayed, this time I stayed in the Shuiyin room. Impeccable accommodation quality, water sound, the room is as its name suggests, there are small streams and waterfalls outside the window, but because the sound insulation effect is so good, if there is not a lot of water, it is difficult to hear it with the windows closed. On the second night of my stay It was windy and rainy on the mountain, and it was still raining heavily in the morning. When I woke up, there was the clear sound of water and light rain outside the window. The Shuiyin room is hidden in a small corner. It is very quiet, like a hermit's residence. It is inconspicuous. You can see the mountain peaks and green pine trees outside the window. The window is half covered by rocks, which adds to the sense of seclusion. The room is very quiet and comfortable. . It is really my first choice to live in seclusion in the mountains and cultivate immortality~ The advantage of staying at this hotel is that the experience is excellent no matter what the weather is. When the weather is nice, you can go for a walk and watch the monkeys in the sea. Shixin Peak is very close, which is a great viewing spot to watch the sunrise over the sea of clouds. If the weather is bad, you can play in the hotel, live in seclusion in the mountains, relax and enjoy the rain through the window, and fall asleep listening to the rain. When there are many people, it feels like a paradise. Once you enter the hotel boundary, it becomes extremely clean. When there are few people, this place is like a sanctuary. Even if the scenic spot is empty, there are always smiling staff who greet you immediately when you return to the hotel. Warm, clean and beautiful lobby~ Come to Huangshan, the less crowded the better the experience! When the scenery is too scarce, there are too many people on the mountain. The mountains are covered with rain and the clouds are rolling, which makes it more beautiful and quieter. Anyway, if you have any needs, the hotel will try its best to help. There was a surprise after staying for three nights in a row. I was given a souvenir when I left. The staff were all very good-looking. The girls had round faces and big eyes, and were pretty and kind. Boys are capable, and they are very capable at first glance. Hahaha To live in seclusion in the mountains and cultivate immortality, you must try it. Although expensive, it is well worth it! Huangshan is particularly suitable for losing weight. It is all sloped and you can get aerobic at every turn for 30 minutes.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a comfortable hotel in the beautiful and serene Yellow Mountain, Anhui. The overall experience was excellent, thanks to the comfortable accommodations and the stunning natural surroundings. The hotel itself provided a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, making it the perfect retreat for anyone looking to escape the bustling city life. The rooms were well-maintained and offered all the necessary amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. The staff was polite and attentive, always ready to assist with any requests or inquiries. One of my favorite aspects of the hotel was its idyllic location amidst the breathtaking scenery of Yellow Mountain. Waking up to the awe-inspiring views of lush forests and majestic peaks was a truly unforgettable experience. Exploring the nearby trails and enjoying the fresh mountain air served as the perfect tonic for the soul. However, my only disappointment was with the dining options at the hotel. While the food provided within the hotel was of decent quality and showcased local cuisine, it would have been nice to have some alternative dining choices nearby. As the hotel was the only dining option in the immediate vicinity, it limited the opportunities to explore the local food scene.

This hotel is well located to bright summit peak and turtle peak, ideal for watching sunset and sunrise. They recommended that we watched sunrise from bright summit peak, and therefore, we should go to turtle peak for sunset, and we were very lucky to witness both! We booked a triple room. The room was a good size, although the bathroom was on the smaller end. The only downside was the room was quite cold, despite the radiator being on full power. There were extra blankets in the room for that purpose. The service was otherwise impeccable: we were given ginger tea on arrival, we were shown to our room (albeit it was outside the main block), the hotel supplied down jackets and torches for sunrise the next morning. They called us to inform us that there were a lot of visitors on the summit, and to leave earlier the next morning for sunrise to get a good spot. We were also given snacks, fruit and a free coffee the next morning for our descent. Breakfast was a buffet and there was a good variety of food.

An amazing experience at an incredible location! Shuguangli Villa is located just 10 minutes from the Houzi Guanhai scenic viewpoint and is a peaceful retreat from the, at times, massive crowds that come to visit Huangshan. The hotel property is wonderfully landscaped, and the bungalows feel secluded with their own porches and gardens. While the exterior appears rustic, each room is well equipped with amenities and is quite modern. We especially appreciated the foot massager after a long day of hiking. The staff are also superb. We were received warmly and were well-attended to throughout our stay. Our dinner and breakfast were also excellent, showcasing local Anhui dishes and ingredients. It’s additionally special considering how difficult it is to get things up the mountain peak. Honestly can’t wait to come back!
