Townhouse No 12

Love the keyless code entry system. Very useful if your arrival is delayed. The attic room was clean and well presented, with two single beds. Quiet location, so got a good night's sleep.Joan the host, allowed us to store our two bicycles in the hall for the one evening, which we stayed. Would stay again

I stay here regularly. Joan is great and looks after you. Cracking location for the town centre and always spotless inside. Excellent value for money. Rooms have shared toilets, but individual showers, etc. For the price they charge, its spot on.

I was visiting Huddersfield for a guest talk and the university booked this place for me via an external website. The email confirmation did not actually specify that after 6pm, there is literally NO WAY TO GET IN - you have to call them AHEAD OF TIME to arrange access. When I arrived at 8pm, there was nobody at reception, the place was dark and locked up and the mobile listed on the door went straight to voicemail (bizarre - would you switch off your phone and go to sleep at 8pm if you knew you had someone who booked to stay?). I left my name and number as requested, but alas, no reply. Like, ever. The sign on the door also said that we are not to bang on the door, which would indicate that this happens on a regular basis. Who knows what it's like inside? Maybe there are other rules in addition to the arrival curfew - lights out at 8pm? Group calisthenics and cold showers at 5am? Or perhaps shared different-coloured towels for different body parts, like in The League of Gentlemen? I guess I'll never know - after waiting in the cold drizzle outside for a while, I trundled off with my suitcase through the dark streets of a city I don't know to look for another hotel. Premier Inn next time.

The pictures make the place look lovely when it is lit up. In reality, it badly needs some TLC. I now understand why a £50 deposit is requested. Lovely big clean room, with comfy bed, bathrobes, coffee making facilities, and a shower and sink. Unfortunately, our shower did not work due to know water? The commual bathroom was clean, but there was no hit water for a shower. Thankfully, it was a working weekend and not a social one.

Stayed here for a couple weeks whilst working away from hone. The room was very spacious and immaculate. Facilities were clean also. Will be staying here again when working in the area. Would definitely recommend.

When we visit Huddersfield we find that number 12 is always cheapest and Joan the manager is quick & helpful. Never had a bad experience and we have used number 12 a dozen or so times. It’s close to the town centre and all that offers and 5 minutes from the train station. Will definitely be back soon.
