This was my 4th visit to GR having left a 5 star review in May 2023. Unfortunately had to check out a day early this time due to multiple issues. What's gone wrong since my last visit: No welcome treats or stocked minibar anymore (now have to order) My friend's room wasn't ready when we arrived after 4pm, cleaners still in there Found someone else's shoes in my room, seriously !!!! Bone in my breakfast sausage which I had to spit out Friend had to go to reception 3 times to get his door card working Our bikes (£25k+) left in unsecured storage unlike previous years Offered free aperitifs then tried to charge us for them Reception took 3 attempts to get our checkout bill right, kept trying to charge for 3 nights when we left early Jules at the bar was helpful throughout. Management did email back but felt like generic responses rather than genuine concern. The location is still great but for a 5 star hotel these basic things shouldn't be happening. Really hope they sort it out as we've loved coming here in the past.

Really lovely hotel in a gorgeous setting. The rooms are quirky and really atmospheric, beds are super comfy. The spa is a great place to relax but it feels a bit odd knowing you pay for an hour and so are constantly watching the clock. The bar is a wonderful place to enjoy a pre dinner cocktail (what a view) Staff really friendly and helpful. The only disappointing thing I would say was the food in the hotel, the breakfast was always cold. On one evening we ate dinner in the main restaurant and were advised to eat the pasta because the chef was Italian, well it was very underwhelming and really not pleasant at all, we also could not believe the price of wine, it was ridiculous, I mean you are in France and everywhere else it was incredibly reasonable, so why the crazy prize tag here.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner meals were both excellent in the hotel restaurant with other nearby options for meals as well. Very nice view of the Alps while sitting on the back balcony. Although the room was very nice, while staying on the 2nd floor, there was a constant "rat-a-tat-tat-tat-tat" noise that started in the morning and continued in to the evening, likely emanating from the first floor, kitchen perhaps. I asked a front desk staff to listen, but he had no clue as to its origin but said he would look into it.
