A genuinely lovely accomodation in Hunmanby. Polite and caring staff, who cooked a proper English breakfast for us in the morning. The Village has great pubs for food, a whisky distillery and a brewery. 10/10 weekend

I Arranged my Dads funeral reception at Wrangham House Hotel. I was glad I did. The buffet was freshly prepared, delicious and well presented. My partner thought the food was wonderful as did I. My extended family also were very pleased with their buffet. The room was warm, well laid out and just the right size for us to socialise. We stayed over for a couple of nights in the coach house again we were warm and comfortable. Had a full bathroom with shower our hosts Peter and Stacey were very obliging and Peter made everyone feel comfortable at a sad time. Thank you very much for your care and attention and for the lovely breakfast too.

Firstly, when arrived it was a nice-looking old building. It did seem to be a good choice from *********** web site. Then at check-in we experienced the first indications that it would not be the perfect first family holiday planned in 4 years. During the check-in process it was found that the allocated room for my parents in their 80's was actually a 2nd floor room up a spiral staircase and when we said this was not practical as my Mum could not go up the stairs one of the owners said we should have mentioned this during booking. Maybe true we should have asked for a ground floor room, but nowhere online did it say the rooms had spiral staircases, (I did read others found this an issue). Anyway, we were allocated rooms and then just relaxed with visiting family before dinner. Before dinner we sat in the bar area, which was traditional and old, but a bit cramped for larger groups. Anyway, we had a drink and ordered our meals ok. Then to the dining room we were told we could sit down at our table which was ready except for the wine ordered which we pointed out to the waiter. After some time, the starters arrived which were all very nice, however the wine still after a few reminders still hand not arrived. Maybe the young staff forgot or were a bit too busy to remember to bring and serve the wine ordered. Anyway, eventually the wine did arrive after another request and before the main course. For the main course 4 from 5 meals were very nice, however my father's dish was not nice at all, and he could not manage to eat it. The waiter was informed, and we said ok, nothing else needed as by then we had all finished the main course. It was when the owner came later that the inquiry into the disappointing main course developed more to an argument than dialogue to which we decided it was best to stop. So, at this point we finished the meal and decided not to order coffee or desserts and just retire for the evening. But then when walking from main building to the coach house bedroom the lady owner stopped us in the carpark to basically complain at us. At this point my parents in their 80's were almost crying and scared for this provocative behavior and wanted to leave immediately which due to drinking during dinner we could not do. We decided not to stay the 2 days booked and the following morning, we packed and checked out as early as possible, which was 8am, (we were prepared earlier but the main building was locked, and the reception did not start so early) then left without the paid breakfast as we did not want another argument. Always 2 sides to any argument, however, to behave this way to elderly people who are paying customers is not acceptable in any shape or form. Additionally, I did find the rooms a little dated and needing an update as the photos show some parts broken and the single bed quite uncomfortable. In my years for travelling the world both for business and pleasure I have never had such bad customer service as this, not even close.

Had Easter lunch at this cheery country house hotel and the food was lovely, crisp roasties, fresh veg, large portions of meat. Staff are friendly and attentive and the hotel grounds are beautiful. It felt like a special occasion having drinks beforehand in the bar and coffee afterwards in the lounge. I felt like they valued all their guests and treated them as special.

This is the worse hotel I have stayed in . The colours in the room was all mustard that made it very dark all the lights were energy lights so they took ages to brighten the room up the bathroom was shocking you couldn't even get in the bathroom you couldnt open bathroom door due to carpet and uneven floor the shower was very disappointing you had to turn it on 10 minutes before just to get hot water if you were a bigger person you wouldn't even get in the shower I tried washing my hair and banged my elbows every time then there was nowhere to put your shampoo so had to bend down they kept banging head on shower lead The Hot water tap also took 20 minutes to heat up The windows in bedroom were black not been cleaned for years dirty floor behind bed When ever you wanted a member of staff you had to press a door bell everywhere This place is definitely not worth the price The only thing that was nice was the breakfast and evening meal but that was very expensive the evening meal and if you wanted a drink at the bar it was always closed or the door was locked I would never return here I couldn't wait to leave the owners are a nightmare The guy is like a big child and his wife needs to be more quiet they are to in your face

Absolutely perfect couple of days away. We initially booked for just one night however, the way we were greeted, the room, the food literally everything we asked if we could stay a second night. Nothing at all to complain about, Pete and Stacie were fantastic so friendly, wonderful company. Loved it so much we have booked again for another long weekend, cannot wait to enjoy their hospitality again.

Myself and partner recently stayed at Wrangham House for two nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this charming, characterful period property. The owner, Peter and staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating to us. We enjoyed a few drinks in the bar and a lovely chat with Peter followed by an outstanding three course meal in the dining room - we haven't had a meal out in a long time that was as consistently good as this and couldn't fault any part of it. Breakfast was relaxed and again, the food was great. We stayed in the Coach house and the room itself was fantastic with all the amenities you could want and the bathroom especially was great with a large bath and shower. The cleaning lady went above and beyond in ensuring that our stay was comfortable. As a location, it is an ideal base to explore Filey and beyond and a 45 minute walk to Hunmanby Gap (an excellent beach and cafe). The village itself has everything you could need including at least three really good pubs. We will definitely be coming back again and recommending.
