We parked at the hotel and I asked to use the toilet for my daughter who has learning disabilities. I was told there were no facilities for the public and was turned away despite this being a requirement of the 2020 Disability Act. My daughter had to squat in the carpark. Not a good experience. Very strange place .

Great location in St.Ives. Good value for money. We stayed in room 73 which had been refurbished to a good standard. A well equipped bathroom with great shower. A lovely view across the sheep filled meadow and also view of the river. Parking is secure and free for residents. Staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. The only negative was there was no Scotch whisky in the bar. We will definitely stay again though. Many thanks Richard and Pauline

We totally recommend this hotel that is currently being refurbished after being out of public service for several years. The check in with a lovely friendly chap who showed us to our room. Free & secure car park at the hotel. The reception is currently being refurbished but we knew that so not a problem. We had booked two nights under a Wowcher offer so very good value but we did request an upgraded & quiet room so paid an extra £25 per room per night. The room was fabulous with a wonderful outlook onto a meadow & the River Ouse. The room was very big, a comfy bed overlooking the serene view. We were in room 68 & we would request that again or one along the same side. It was beautifully refurbished & spotlessly clean. The sleep quality was excellent. There is a nice bar with a lovely riverside terrace. We were booked B&B but as the breakfast time was only up-to 9am, well that is a bit to early for us, our choice to have a lie in instead. All the staff were very friendly & helpful. We will definitely be back as such a fab location, you have the little town on your doorstep with plenty of bars & restaurants. Good luck to the team at the Dolphin as they start to ‘breath’ new life back into this lovely hotel that is well worth a visit.

This is an awful hotel. I was denied a refund even after I refused to stay in the room immediately after viewing it. I left immediately. The room was dirty and had a smell and the public areas were also dirty. The receptionist was rude and out of their depth and stated they had never had any training. I have been emailing for 2 weeks for a promise to resolve this and getting nowhere. I have asked to speak to mangers and this is ignored. They are either not available or "out of the country!" Don't stay here. Worst hotel ever

This is a place of mixed responses. The staff are lovely - friendly, welcoming, helpful. And the location is great, right on the river by St. Ives medieval bridge. There's a great terrace there, that overlooks all this and at night, you can sit there and listen to the music and chatter and laughter drifting across the water from the town. And that's the issue - everything's happening across the river. The first night I stayed, I sat on this terrace, totally alone, with a drink from a bar that was... completely empty. So wha't wrong? Difficult to say but there are some key things that stood out. Still in the bar, there's no whisky... there's bourbon and excessively expensive malt but no regular whisky - in an English bar. Then there's the room. Perfectly well presented with comfortable bed and some tea making facilities and even biscuits. But housekeeping consists of someone making the bed and... that's it. No emptying of bins, or hanging towels or replenishing tea and coffee. And the shower mounting was broken so only water on the chest and not on the head. And breakfast, whilst not expensive, was served in a vast, joyless event room on tables that hadn't been laid. This meant several trips to the serving area for hot food that wasn't hot and, in come cases, was very dry and overcooked. There is an unfinished air about the place. It should be great but it feels tired and half-finished. And some sort of idea about what service is needs to be looked at. There is massive potential here but, in a town which seems to have live music in every pub and some great, and full, restaurants, there's a lot of competition. It feels like a missed opportunity,. but it's still an opportunity. And the staff were nice.

Sun trap with a great view across the river and bridge. Was great to see people in boats and wake boarders moor up and pop in for a drink. Staff were nice, and location was perfect.

Me and my husband have just stayed here for 2 nights for our wedding anniversary. The hotel is lovely, its quiet and relaxing. The views are great. Close to the town which is a short walk. The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was nice and plenty to choose from, the food and drink was replenished regularly. The only thing I could moan about was the fact that wowcher stated that we would get a bottle of presecco but we didnt recieve that. I would definitely stay again

Ok this place was closed for years but is now undergoing a refurbishment the public bar is open and lookin fresh which was always a go too for drinks as it’s one of the nicest beer gardens in st ives right on the river and looking over to hemmingford meadow the other way. fantastic sunset good choice of beer etc and average prices for town. The work is ongoing but they are getting there and the staff are great. Definitely worth a lazy drink or two.
