Old Palace Resort Sahl Hasheesh

Old Palace Resort is an amazing place - beach, pools, all inclusive (if you pay extra) and the staff are so friendly and helpful - nothing is too much trouble. I already extended my stay by 2 nights and wish I could stay longer. I would definitely stay here again

I booked the Chalet, and it is super convenient for families from 2 adults and 2 kids or 3 adults and it was nearby the heated pool, kids pool, jacuzzi and main restaurant. I spent four nights and I found that everything about this place exceeded my expectations. It is polygamizing , keeping attention to the smallest details, and outstanding service in every aspect. The management team Mr.Bishoy Albert the duty manager was very delighted to welcome us and make birthday celebrations as a complementary gift The animation team is very friendly and professional. Many thanks to Jolia the animation team leader for her amazing work especially with my kids. The restaurant staff was so friendly and supportive, many thanks to Mr. Ahmed Mahmoud and his team for their efforts to make every day different types of food. I will definitely go there again and again whenever possible. Many thanks to the Old Palace resort management and staff for this wonderful experience.

Actually the place doesn't include alot of kids' stuff but the sea and the pool are nice, you can play water polo in the pool which has two fixed nets. You can also rent a bike or golf cart (there's a road for this activities and it's long enough). You can also play volley. There are many markets from which you can buy whatever stuff you need (food, drinks, water suits, etc..). There's also an evening party which might be not suitable for a child. I believe that's all you can do there so you can judge by yourself is it suitable or not. :)

This was our second stay at this lovely hotel. Our first stay was in 2019 and we enjoyed it so much that we went again for two weeks returning home a couple of days ago. We intend to book again next year inshallah! One downside is the suite we were in badly needs refurbishing especially in the bathroom. That said the shower though old was good and most importantly hot with controllable temperature. The bed was very comfortable and once in bed with the doors shut perfectly peaceful and we both had great night's sleep every night. Ready to go to the main restaurant for breakfast. Breakfast was fabulous and I am sure we both added a few pounds in weight! Breakfast items ranged from any type of cooked egg you can think of to hot tomatoes with cheese and a vast selection of other hot food. All types of bread and pastries were also on offer as well as fruit of every description. Lunch again was really good with many different types of hot food from roasted chickens and freshly cooked pasta to a great selection of salads and vegetables and often very well cooked and hot French fries. Dinner was always very special with many themed evenings including Egyptian buffet with the best koftas I have ever tasted! There was a Mediterranean buffet special night which was delicious. I could go on about food but I won't! The staff in the restaurant from the magnificent Head Chef Mahmoud Eltayb to the floor sweepers and cleaners were all amazing. One particular cleaner was always smiling even when cleaning up spilled food (sorry I didn't get his name!), our constantly smiling and ever busy waiter was tearing around the place but found time to treat us like royalty - his name Mohammed Ali. What a treasure he was! We tried mostly to eat where he was working he was so good! All the waiters from the junior to the more senior were always helpful, polite and hardworking - Omar remembered us from our last visit and was also extremely helpful and hardworking. The beach is fabulous. Cleaned most days and the sea is so clear and warm. The only problem here is the age old and international hotel problem that is guests reserving sunbeds before breakfast and then not returning for hours, generally taking up prime positions to the utter annoyance of the other guests! We waited for a wind break and a couple of beds away from a makeshift place by the path while we could see beds in much better places to ours remaining unoccupied for hours on end right under our noses. So what can you do but complain to management who did come down to step in and sort it out for us - but the person who should have been sorting it out ignored us for the rest of the holiday (2 weeks). He also spent most of his time on his mobile phone! Other helpers still acknowledged us and lots of praise to the waiters/clearer uppers who were again always smiling and happy to get drinks from the bar for us - no hanging around for baksheesh either! The beach lifeguards were always alert so worth a mention! T

I was there for the first 3 weeks of March and the position of the hotel is perfect for the R&R holiday I'd so looked forward to. Everything was kept very clean and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. I was lucky enough to be moved from my first room to one of the newer rooms closer to the Jacuzzi pool (the heated one) and also the dining room; only because I have mobility problems and the second room had a walk in shower which was much easier for me to negotiate. So a big thank you to Katya one of the Guest Relations Managers for arranging that for me. Also a huge shout out to Mahmoud the wonderful Head Chef who half way through my holiday started to prepare all my meals especially for me due to a medical condition I developed and this was the answer. He brought each dish to my table personally and the other guests were forever wondering why I’d got this special treatment! And talking of food I must also thank Neveen, who is one of only 3 female employees in the entire hotel, who took time always to ensure that every guest was okay and with her trusty note book as a reminder, sorted out any requests that came to her attention. Do try both the Brazilian and Italian speciality food nights and come hungry! From a food perspective there was always plenty of choice and every day there were special dishes being cooked on the BBQ and also a fresh pasta station where your dish was cooked with a choice of all the ingredients you could ever want. The bar staff in the lobby were always attentive, but one word of warning, steer clear of anything with gin it, sorry Old Palace, but it tasted awful! During our stay there was a lot of public area refurbishment going on, thankfully always at night. Hopefully this will include reducing the lobby marble floor from ice rink conditions to something less slippery! The animation (entertainment) crew worked tirelessly to ensure that each night the guests were kept amused and I must make special mention to Angelina, Illya (who has the loudest handclap I've ever heard!) and Dasha for all their hard work and friendliness. One other person who also needs a thank you is Mohammed Ishmail or maybe it’s Ishmail Mohammed, anyway he is Deputy F&B Manager and always wore a grey jumper even when it was hot! Almost everyday asked how me and my friends how we were and was there anything he could do for us - just buy better gin please! To sum up, a lovely hotel, good rooms, great staff, beautiful grounds wonderfully maintained and about a 15/20 minute walk away along the promenade by the beach from Sahl Hasheesh town centre, depending on how quickly you can do it. And of course, the weather! A little windy at times but incredibly dependable. Don’t be afraid to ask for anything (within reason!) the management team will do everything possible to help you out. I’ll be back again – one day! Thank you everyone.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Perfect location. Rooms are very clean. Food quality is excellent. Service at pool and beach bars is extremely good 😍 It is our 4th time here and never got enough for staying here💃 sandy beach very clean. In general: When u ask for something, all staff hurry up to help u. Receptionists are welcoming us warmly, they have a lovely smile always. All is perfectt👌 highly recommended hotel 😍❤️ Special thanks to: mr. Ahmed fawzy, restaurant manger mr ahmed mahmoud, chef mahmoud el tayeb, chef megally, mr mohamed mimi. You never know what to expect when visiting a hotel in Egypt but Old Palace was a pleasant surprise. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The animation team made you feel welcome at the beach and pool. There were lifeguards at the beach and pool which was reassuring to see. My room was clean and well presented. The hotel had WiFi throughout which was refreshing compared to other hotels I have visited in Egypt. The food in the restaurant provided a good choice, and was always very pleasant. I went to the Italian restaurant one of the nights and that was particularly nice. During my stay it was my birthday, and I returned to my room to flowers all over my bed and a birthday cake, which I thought was superb customer service. I would most certainly recommend the hotel - This would be my 6th visit to Egypt.

Not our first time in Sahl Hasheesh, but our first time in this hotel. PROS Food Generally, the food is fine but still a bit weaker than of what you'd expect of a 5 star hotel. However, chefs will accommodate almost any of your requests. Special thanks in that regard would be to chef Sayed and Hassan. Once a week they have oriental night. Pastries and desserts are great. Waiters are friendly and special thanks goes to waiter Abnob who was so pleasant and there wasnt a single time that man wasn't smiling. Truly a fantastic employee! Also waiter Mohammed Gda, very pleasant and professional. Often you can stumble upon sanitation technician sampling food for checking, which is a positive thing. A la carte restaurants Italian restaurant was nice. Although at time we were on a bit packed, but nevertheless nice. The waiter that was serving us was the same in Italian and Brazilian. He was fantastic. Special thanks would be to the chef Ayman Abbas. Brazilian restaurant on the other hand didn't hold the expectations. Food was the same as in main restaurant except some of the souses. Management Management is the strongest aspect of this hotel. Very effective and prompt. Whenever you have a problem they will immediately deal with it. They are the ones pulling the weight. And know how to run things.  Special thanks to Assistant f&b manager, GR Neveen who is attentive and pleasant, and Ahmad Mohamed Ass. restaurant mng. Accommodation Rooms are presteen clean. The furniture is dated and it's a part that definitley requires a renovation. Especially bathrooms. We knew about the old finntiure, so we didn't find that troubling. However, the thing that was bad was lighting in the room. The room was lit only by table lamps without ceiling lights. Which makes room unpleasant to be in and even wose for reading. There was no light over the bed. That's were management came into play and they immediately solve the problem by changing our room. It was done promptly. Special thanks to Mohammed Memmy. Grounds Well kept and you can tell they put a lot of effort into it. Landscape technicians are working non stop to maintain it. We were pleasantly surprised. It's also pleasant to be in it. Lobby bar The staff is very friendly and the bar is always clean. Always ready to chat and serve you. Cleanliness Overall cleanliness is immaculate. Just be aware of dirty cups. Beach  Beach is great. Much better than in other hotels in SH. There is a mareen store nearby, with fixed prices and the guy there is very pleasant to talk to. He won't hustle you to buy anything. CONS Beach bar Stuff is rude and aggressive. First, they don't serve in order. And handful of times I was served last even though I came before many. I didn't mind that. Maybe they just didn't like me. What I mind is when you ask them specifically to do something like put coffee in ceramic cup and they pretend they don't understand or speak English. Then they pour coffee back from the pape

The hotel and all the staff there is so PERFECT! Waitress, barmens are like your friends you know all your life. Room always was so clean. Everyone who want to be like a part of a family in Egypt must go there, to Old Palace Resort hotel. I promise, you will love it!
