We had a one night stay last year due to our flight being cancelled and was so impressed with the hotel that this October we returned to Xanadu. It's been a week now since we flew back from our holiday in Xanadu.... and we have just booked again to go at the end of January for my 60th Birthday and we are also making plans on for returning next October with a group of friends and family. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Check in was a breeze. The room was very nice, clean and modern. Our room was in the main building with a swim up pool, however the pool was in the shade most of the day and was quite cold, the rooms opposite our room, the swim up pool, were very warm as they were in the sun all day. The food was varied and of good quality, so many places to eat and drink during the day and evenings. The staff were amazing, especially Yuosef Ragab, who was a star, he worked tirelessly and kept the drinks/cocktails/snacks flowing while we were on the beach and during the evening entertainment. It was nice to see females working around the hotel, something we have not seen on our two previous visits to Egypt. The beach is great, nice to be able to walk into the sea, unlike the two other hotels we have previously stayed in. The snorkelling is amazing, there are so many fish around the reefs. On my first day I even had the privilege to snorkel above and to the side of a turtle for ten minutes or so. Four of us hired a glass bottom boat to visit some reefs. Not long after setting sail we were lucky enough to see a whale shark! The reefs/coral were amazing, however the hotel beach was better for numbers and species of fish. There are numerous pools with plenty of sunbeds and room to relax. The entertainment was very good, the beach disco was something else. There are quieter areas if you just want to chill with some background music. All in all a great hotel which I cannot recommend enough.
