Montesol Experimental Ibiza

This place was obviously old but very well updated and appointed. Some might call it quaint. The hotel staff was very accommodating, professional and pleasant, and for the most part spoke English well which made communication less of a challenge. We had a booking discrepancy which necessitated a larger room, fortunately we were able to move into the two bed premier unit which by my standards was very nice. The AC cooled the room off exceptionally well, the windows and balcony doors were all new with double insulated panes and sound trim insulation. The balcony overlooked the square which tended to be noisy throughout the night but not so much that sleep could not be attained. Obviously this facility has no control of people in the square. The rest of the room touted a nicely decorated and well designed living space, and a ceiling fan that could really move some air, the bathroom was newly redesigned and also very nice. Plenty of hot water, not that we needed it in this summer 2022 heat wave. Parking was a challenge, we rented a car when we arrived and street parking was nearly impossible. Lot parking was 38e/night. The upside is with a receipt the hotel reimbursed that expense which was a pleasant discovery. Would definitely stay here again. I had zero concerns or complaints about this hotel. Side note for other Americans contemplating to rent a car or not. I suggest that you do. Parking, though not convenient but reimbursed makes it worth it and getting around the island via one of maybe three taxis would be crazy expensive and not worth the time standing around wasting. Driving is easy after you realize how the roads are laid out IE mostly one ways, the triangles on the road mean you yield at that intersection AND pedestrians ALWAYS have the right of way. Scooters and motorcycles will pass you up on the left and right so just keep an eye out. Once out of downtown Ibiza driving is much more relaxing and easy, the rest of the island is an easy and relatively care free cruise. The sunset at Cafe Del Mar is greeted with cheers nightly and an accompanying beat from the club. I would like to come back here again for a longer stay. A full month would suffice.

The Standard, Ibiza

Ibiza|0.27km from Ibiza Museum of Contemporary Art
The service: I was very much looking forward to staying at The Standard Ibiza due to its modern design and beautiful rooftop. This experience was soured by the treatment myself (American) and my friends (British) received from the staff at both restaurants. They did not hide the fact that they did not like English-speaking guests. We dined at the rooftop restaurant and Jara (floor level) multiple times and each time had a similar experience. The waiters would completely ignore us. We had to get up and track someone down to get a menu even after the bartender looked me straight in the eye and went about her business. We had to ask for drinks multiple times before we got them. Ask for our check several times. When we finally got up to ask the bartender for something she would respond with ”ask my colleague”. Tonight we dined at Jara and not once, not a single time did the waiter come to our table to take an order or ask if we needed anything. We had to get up and find him each time to get service. Meanwhile, he was attending to a family at the table next to us all night (Spanish speaking). I've honestly never experienced such poor service at a hotel, despite the fact that myself and my friends were extremely courteous and patient. We spoke Spanish as much as we could with the wait staff. It was just very obvious that they do not appreciate the business of English/American patrons (visible eye rolls and sh*t talking with each other). I witnessed another American guest have an altercation with the bartender when she asked for more ice in an iced latte. They are very stuck in their ways and unwilling to accommodate reasonable requests despite the high price we pay to stay there. The room: very modern and nice, however, the bathroom sink leaves no room for personal effects, and the bed shares a wall with the hallway, so you hear and feel the doors slamming day and night. Overall: It's a beautiful hotel, but I would not return after the treatment that we received. Many of the wait staff seemed like they hated their jobs.

Ibiza Gran Hotel

It took a day or so to get used to the hotel but, once we did, we really enjoyed it and found it very comfortable. We had a junior suite with a pool view but we also got a great view of the 'old town'. Highlights : - A comfortable room with good sized balcony and great views - An astonishing breakfast, as many have said. The food and service were exceptional - Really good location, 20 minute walk to the 'old town', 5 minutes walk to the marina - 2 good pools with fantastic service, particularly at the adult pool - Good lobby/reception space with helpful and knowledgeable guest services staff....their recommendations were all spot on. - Some impressive art and sculpture So, why give it 4 stars rather than 5 ? - It's a tiny bit dated....just a bit and feel unfair saying it - The open plan nature of the bathroom, with bath next to bed, was once quirky and original, now just a bit impractical and a trip hazard in the night 😀 - Lack of basic hotel information....I know we should use the hotel app but sometimes an old bit of analogue info does the trick - A bit of mystery about evening eating options only encourages guests to take advantage of fantastic restaurants in the town (just don't miss the breakfast). That all sounds a bit picky and shouldn't overshadow what was a great 5 day stay....both this hotel and Ibiza 'old town' we would highly recommend. P.s. we left some items behind by mistake....the hotel has been very helpful in locating them and allowing us to retrieve.

Hotel Royal Plaza

02/05/22. Dinner 2 persons. Belvedere Restaurant, Royal Plaza Hotel, Ibiza. Even if you are not a resident, you can be sure of exquisite cuisine in this comfortable room without the over-priced, over designed ostentatiousness of other, perhaps more well-known establishments on the island! This is, or should be, a well-guarded secret!… however tonight’s dinner was a revelation… I had a starter of Caprese salad that would do justice to any Italian place… my companion opted for a ‘main’ course of gambas in garlic with egg - a combination I’ve never encountered before! - I will return to savour this dish another day… My main: fish: Dorada fillet. This was cooked to absolute perfection and compliments were duly sent to the kitchen! No room for dessert … but coffees and brandy for me and more cava (gorgeous) which we had started with, for my hostess… The whole evening was a delight and because of a sudden downpour, more residents decided to eat here.. and like us we’re not disappointed… and the prices… well, has to be the best deal in town, considering the quality of the food! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ E.H.

Positive: very central, nice stuff, its clean Negative: i've been here 4 nights and was seriously thinking about changing my hostel after the first night. As a light sleeper, you're in hell here. Its SO LOUD, i can hear every single person in this hostal talking, banging doors, having S*x, doing whatever, it feels like the walls are made out of cardboard. And since there are people coming home at all times during the night and even the morning, i woke up a 100 times every night. The toilet right in front of my room was used by so many people during the night coming home from partying (even though it wasn't theirs to be used! ) and everyone was banging the door shut. Constraction work right outside the building starts early in the morning, so even if you found your sleep in the morning, it won't last long, believe me. Would never return to this place and dont recommend it.

Excellent location, very close to the center, the port, the beach of Figueretas and half an hour from the airport with direct bus . We have a very friendly and available staff, and we have given to our handbags, umbrellas and willingness to leave the baggage and enjoy the bathroom before departure. Breakfast in the very nice courtyard, recommended 🥰

Location is good and hotel is very clean. A slight criticism and one you should be careful of us the number of sea view rooms. We booked a sea view but were originally given a room that faced the wall of the building next door … we were given a better room although were told it is very difficult!!! The breakfast was good and Miska on reception was very helpful with info. Remember this us Ibiza town and we were woken by clubbers going out and coming in during the early hours.

The experience was nice generally, the hotel has the best views of the Ocean. The beach is also better compared to the sides of San Antonio. Their Blavos restaurant was also amazing, the food was tasty. I enjoyed my stay.
