"We hadn't been to Ilkley before, but are now pleased that we had, and that we chose the Wheatley Arms. We stayed for three nights, when the weather was very hot. Our room was lovely and, although we were above the bar, at no time did we feel disturbed by the other residents (or drinkers!), even though the bar was very popular, and there were outside tables. Ilkley Moor is on the door step and the hotel has a booklet featuring a number of local walks. Ilkley itself is walkable but was hard going in the heat. Fortunately, there is a railway station within a quarter of a mile of the hotel with frequent and late evening trains to and from the centre of Ilkley. We left our car in the car park for the total length of our stay, but the location is excellent for exploring Wharfedale."
