My family and I had an absolutely amazing stay at Screebe House. The location is gorgeous, and the accommodations are beautiful and pristine. We felt so welcome by Liam when we first arrived, and the manager, Ursula, took wonderful care of us. The food is delicious, and my family enjoyed the lovely spa, pool, and the outdoor hot tub with a scenic backdrop. This is a very special place that we hope to return to again in the future. I give it my highest recommendation! Deirdre

Very relaxed ambience inside the house and the staff are lovely. Have to say, had lunch and dinner today and the food was exceptional. The flavours and the presentation was unreal. Will definitely come back next year.

Screebe House was the perfect getaway for my wife and I. The staff were warm and welcoming and the small number of rooms meant it was very intimate and personal. With access to a pool, jacuzzi, sauna and pier for sea swimming, you have a full range of relaxing things to do.

Another place in the middle of nowhere. In this case in the heart of Connemara, which is a must. To reach it, you go through amazing roads and landscapes. This is a very nice property in front of a lake, a bit neglected. Quick check-in. The room was nothing special. Quite small with a comfortable bed and a decent bathroom. Despite being Saturday I was completely alone in the SPA, which was quite messy... One important aspect of this hotel is its restaurant as you can't find any in many km. Therefore we booked a reservation there and we must say it was a very good surprise. We had an excellent dinner, especially the two dried beefs which were delicious. Breakfast was also good, on demand. But above all, when you pay 315 Euros for a B&B, you definitely expect something extra.

This is a MUST when it comes to getaways. The whole experience from the second you arrive to when you depart is unforgettable. You are treated like one of the family. Michelle had a beautiful warm welcome for us on arrival. My husband wanted to see a GAA match. Immediately, Michelle set about organising a big screen for him. Simon’s professional is exceptional. He demonstrates a genuine interest in doing his job well. No stone is left unturned. Ursula, the owner is full of personality, kindness & fun. She wants her guests to truly relax & enjoy their stay. The food is out of this world. The bedrooms are so cosy and warm. The spa is amazing. I couldn’t find fault with a single thing. cannot wait to return.

Stayed 22-24 April 2025. Easily the best welcome and most comforting stay of all our Ireland trips to date (50+). The stay was a Christmas present from our daughters and booking was a doddle. Our room was perfect, large and old fashioned, with a view out the back to the lough and out the front to the garden. All the bedclothes and pillows were of top quality and the bed extremely comfortable. The breakfast menu was extensive and all the items we choose over two mornings were delicious. Dinner was also top notch, with an emphasis on seafood (which I don't eat). I had venison on night one and, in conversation with staff about my preferences, next day discovered that there would be steak available that night (even though it wasn't on the menu). Unreal service. My wife and I agreed that it was our best stay anywhere to date, and much of the credit for that goes to the managing family, many of who work in the house. Big shout out to Ursula and Michelle, for whom nothing was too much trouble. I have already recommended this venue to my extended family, even though it is genuinely 'out of the way', but throughly worth the journey. The scenery in the area (west to Connemara) is beautiful. We'll be back.

Outstanding 18th century mansion on the shores of Galway Bay. Beautifully restored premises with the addition of a pool, sauna, gym, and jacuzzi. It is truly a place to relax and pamper. Amazing food with daily specials using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
