"We booked a low-priced sea view room on a certain website (I thought it was a promotion so the price was lower), but when we checked in, we found that this was a slum-style sea view room. It felt like all the people living there were Asian, African, and Latin American brothers (crossed out). There was a sea view, but the room was really dark and low, and our room was connected to the one next to it. I immediately checked the rooms for that day and found that there were still rooms available and the price was lower than what we booked. Even if it was a sea view room of one level, it was lower than the price we booked. I went to the front desk and asked for a paid upgrade (we really could accept the paid upgrade, after all, we came all the way here), but the front desk said that the manager was not there and had to wait until tomorrow, and the paid upgrade also had to wait for the manager. The hotel contacted us early the next morning, and the manager helped us solve the problem. We like the hotel very much. Their sea water is very good, especially suitable for swimming, and the sea view is also beautiful. I feel that many British people go to this hotel, and bus No. 4 can also reach the door. It's OK to go to the pier to take a boat to the sea. We will go again."

"The Gran Melia sits on a truly beautiful, "luxury" property with stunning views. Unfortunately, the room quality and service execution were not up to the standard expected for a $4,000 five-night stay. The Good: The breakfast buffet and menu items were excellent. The property and grounds are breathtaking. The Issues: Serious Shower Problems: The water pressure was consistently low, and the temperature violently fluctuated between cool and hot every 30 seconds. We and multiple other guests on our floor experienced this. The manager's response of "we’ll send someone to look at it" felt dismissive and treated guests as gullible, as this is clearly a systemic plumbing issue, not a quick maintenance fix. Slippery Bathroom: The polished marble bathroom floor and shower are dangerously slippery. When we requested a rubber mat, we were told they would "spray the shower to make it less slippery"—another unhelpful and insulting response. Understaffed Breakfast Service: While the food was great, the dining room was significantly understaffed (by at least two people). The existing team worked hard but could not keep up, resulting in persistent delays for coffee refills and prepared food orders every morning. Worn Mattress: Our mattress was clearly overused, showing a noticeable sag/indentation and a subpar firmness level (I'd rate it 6/10). When paying a premium price, you expect excellence and a basic amenity like a reliable hot shower. This hotel failed to deliver on those expectations."
