Howard Johnson by Wyndham Incheon Airport

This is by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. This was my third time, and while the first two weren't exceptional, they were acceptable, so I booked again. I checked in around 10 PM. The room felt warm, but I thought it was just the AC starting up, so I went to pick up my child. When I returned, it still wasn't cooling. The front desk sent someone who said there was no issue, but they brought a fan. It was almost 1 AM, and I was too tired to argue, so I accepted it. I couldn't sleep all night; the room was 25.5 degrees Celsius while it was 24 outside. The next day, I asked the front desk to switch rooms. Because I was in a hurry to leave for a concert, I didn't properly check if the AC was working. When I returned around 11 PM, I was greeted by another 25-degree room. I almost cried and broke down at the front desk before they reluctantly gave me another room, with a very sour expression. When I entered the new room, it was 19.5 degrees. Why did they keep giving me rooms with broken ACs when they had perfectly working ones? Were they trying to take advantage of me?

The lady at the front desk who checked me in at night seemed to have a prejudice against Chinese people, full of condescending attitudes and passive-aggressive comments. When I spoke to her in fluent English, her answers were irrelevant. Finally, when she asked me to type in my 'Chinese phone number,' I told her, 'I only have a US phone number,' and her attitude immediately changed to being friendly and welcoming. There was a very suspicious fan in the room. This fan had no switch, and in that black hole in the photo, I found something that *very much* looked like a camera. I poked it inside. The gentleman at check-out had a much better attitude. Anyway, I definitely won't be staying here again. That's all.

This was my third time staying here. This time, I also booked the airport shuttle service for the next morning in advance. However, when I got in the car, no driver or staff member checked my ticket, and the driver didn't ask me which terminal I was going to when we started driving. As a result, we didn't go to T2 first and then T1 as indicated. I had to get off and ask the driver which terminal it was, and only then did I realize it was T1. I told him I needed to go to T2, and the driver was quite rude, saying I wasn't a guest of this hotel and I wasn't his passenger. I showed him my ticket, and he said I should have given it to him before getting in, but no one checked tickets beforehand, and the driver didn't ask me in the car. On the way from T1 to T2, the driver kept muttering and swearing in Korean. His attitude makes me reconsider whether I'll choose this hotel again next time. Poor review. Did the driver see me in the car from the beginning but think I was trying to get a free ride? His behavior is really concerning. There seems to be an issue of discrimination against Chinese people and a lack of proper procedures.

Cleanliness: Up to standard. Environment: Lots of amenities and services nearby.

This Howard Johnson and Wyndham Suites share a front desk. It's about 10km from Incheon Airport, and they offer a free one-way shuttle to the airport every morning, though there's no shuttle service from the airport to the hotel. Incheon Train Station is right across the street, and there are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The hotel facilities are pretty basic; the slippers are paper-thin, and the carpet isn't clean enough – it actually felt lumpy underfoot. I couldn't find any complimentary bottled water in the room, nor any disposable toiletries like toothbrushes. On the plus side, it was good to see that the important notices were also in Chinese.
