Hotel Maintenance: Construction areas were unsafe, with open access to renovating rooms.Room Maintenance: The bathroom door was broken, and the toilet paper holder was unusable.Gym Facilities: Equipment was damaged and cleaning supplies were inadequate.Safety Concerns: A woman, apparently homeless, was harassing guests. The front desk was aware but did not act. Security Issues: The front doors were propped open at midnight, and the front desk agent was inattentive.Housekeeping: Service was limited to towel removal despite promises of more thorough cleaning.Odors and Cleanliness: Construction dust and moldy smells were prevalent, and bugs were found in the bathroom.

Run down Marriott property. Bad maintenance; unclean; water damage; bad drainage from in-room sinks; smells; random vagrants on property; shady. Reporting to Corporate Marriott. Unfortunate. No one EVER standing at front desk. This is a badly run property; and apparently they have no financial reserves to fix up.

The hotel was perfect for us. Out of way within the city. Right next to the Independence Center. The hotel was clean, breakfast was good, parking is very easy. They have loyal customers who stay here when in town. I rate hotels on whether I feel they are clean, safe, and responsive to what you need. This hotel fit those categories.

I had stayed at this hotel last year and had an excellent experience. It was very clean and comfortable. Unfortunately my experience was not as good this time around. They are doing a lot of renovations inside, which cannot be helped, but the workers were playing loud music that made it difficult to sleep. Also, the housekeeping staff did a poor job of cleaning. There was a lot of hair in my bathroom and the drain in the shower did not work. They even left a used towel from a previous guest in the bathroom. Finally, they charge a $10 parking fee, which I thought was a little unnecessary since this was a suburban area with plenty of parking options and not a resort, etc.

Property is not safe or suitable for guests. Major water damage from last month has not been resolved and management is placing people in rooms near hazardous material situations. Wallpaper is falling off, loose wires hanging out of ceilings with equipment and building debris littering the hallways. My room was surrounded by damaged rooms that had doors open and loud fans running constantly 24/7. These issues were discussed with the manager rep on duty who did not seem to be concerned, said she would take care of it but did nothing. Due to the extensive damage throughout, this facility should be closed until all repairs have been completed. I have pictures of all hazardous conditions. This is not the Marriott management response experience I would expect after 20+ years of using this brand.
