"Would highly recommend. Comfortable 3 nights in a single room. All staff friendly, helpful, polite. Asked for more comfortable chair and it was up in my room before me ! All areas very clean. Great breakfasts and evening meals, piping hot and tasty ! Good selection of beers and spirits in both bars. Real Ale establishment about 20 yds from front door. Other bars, Indian restaurant, Chinese takeaway and fish and chip / pizza takeaways along High Street."

"Hotels was great service was fab and food in restaurant great. Only thing missing is a jacuzzi in the spa. Our trip was spoilt by the reception charging us twice for our accommodation. Already paid via trip.com and then got home to discover the hotel had also charged directly. Despite informing Hotel of this error on day of departure, a week later and multiple tel call we still haven’t the money returned to our account. As a result we will not be returning as very poor post trip customer care!"

"We had accommodation booked elsewhere, but due to my disability it was unsuitable, very steep , winding stairs, no railing.. Adrian really went the extra mile for us and gave us one of the garden lodges nr 18. It has a lovely disability friendly shower, much appreciated after the day we had, and we also had access to a lovely private garden. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and it was very quiet. The breakfast was amazing. One has to order in advance, a great idea to order exactly what you want, which leads to little food wastage. There was a good choice offered, and it was very tasty. We didn't have dinner in the hotel as we felt we wanted to explore our surroundings and not be bound by the clock. We loved the individuality of the hotel, a bit eccentric , yet charming owner.. A gem easily missed in these often sterile times, we will be back..."

"Stayed here over night, and the room was not very clean. Thick dust under the bed. Shower screen very dirty, shelf in the shower was disgustingly slimy. Very poor lights, 1 light in bathroom not working, bathroom fan didn’t work so steamed up the room straight away. Bathroom lock was broken. Extremely noisy from the bar. We stayed here last year for a night and from midnight there was trouble in one of the other rooms, got absolutely no sleep all night with this, wasn’t good as we had a 3 hour drive home. We couldn’t get car out of the car park in the morning because of all the police. We went for a walk for an hour to look for somewhere to get breakfast. We decided to try it again this year, but really disappointed in the room this time."

An absolute pleasure from arrival to departure and cannot fault anything in relation to our stay. The worst part was having to leave! The food was excellent in the restaurant and the Sunday lunch was divine. We are planning another visit soon and cannot wait to return! Great comfortable rooms and very relaxing. "Nice enough hotel good large clean room and bathroom. We didn't eat in the evening but did have an excellant breakfast. A couple of people we were talking to said their breakfast was slow service so we expected that but everything was great. Slight issue was slowish bar service as only one person working Played golf on a lovely course which is quite challenging but very enjoyable. Looking forward to heading there again later in the year"

"We were offered an upgrade to a suite at a much reduced rate and accepted the offer. The room was huge comfortable and well equipped for a pleasant stay. However the room and bathroom looked as if they hadn't been used for a while. In need of an update and tired it also could have been cleaner. A bit disappointing. On saying that the rest of the hotel was very clean, comfortable and welcoming. Staff were all helpful and friendly, and attentive. The food was excellent and the menus had a great selection to choose from. I would definitely visit again, but as the standard rooms are more modern and comfortable I would ask to view any room before agreeing to any update"

"We stayed here for just one night as part of a road trip, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our journey. The place was clean, tidy, and incredibly welcoming. The staff went above and beyond - from letting us hose down our cars after a long drive, to surprising me with candles in a cake for my birthday. It was such a thoughtful gesture that really made the stay special. The homemade food was delicious, and the scenery surrounding the hotel was absolutely beautiful. Most of all, the staff were amazing!Super friendly, helpful, and full of genuine warmth. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a peaceful, friendly place to stay.
