"When reversing in Beijing, you need to stay overnight for the transition. We arrived at nearly 11pm and there was still someone at the front desk. The room was clean, but too small. It was difficult to turn over in the bed with a child. There was no place to eat breakfast nearby. It took 12 or 13 minutes to walk to find a breakfast shop. Finally, we went to the West Station to eat."

Perfect
GGuest UserThe room is spacious, clean and hygienic. The interior decoration is wooden, very natural, no odor, the air conditioning is powerful, and the shower water is also hot. The welcome fruit is also nice, the coffee is rich in fat and tastes good The swimming pool looks good, but I didn't go in the water, so it's hard to comment Breakfast is in the hotel next door, and the environment is also very good It is a little far from the core of the ancient town, which has advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is quietness, the feeling of a paradise in the mountains, I like it very much, it is more spacious, comfortable and quiet than in the core area. The disadvantage is the stairs, which is not very friendly to the elderly, but children like it very much.

GGuest UserThe room is clean and tidy, the location is good, it is convenient to go anywhere, the proprietress is also very friendly, the children get up late, and it is already late for breakfast, but she still enthusiastically prepares breakfast for us. And the kimchi for breakfast is also very delicious. The family lives very comfortably, and will choose this homestay again in the future.

AAnonymous UserI booked the place after seeing good reviews from XHS and on this site. We were met with not the lady boss on day of arrival but a grouchy man with curt instructions. And no assistance was given to help us carry our luggage to the 3rd floor. Lucky, it was a single luggage. So both my sis and I were able to do it on our own. The room itself is clean but very basic with no place to hang our clothes though hangars are provided. As we were only staying for one night, it was ok. Towels are provided with shower gel and shampoo. The hotel location is good/central as it is near the Sun Moon Plaza. Did not get to see the drone show as there were thunderstorms that night. We were glad when we met the lady boss the next morning. Very warm and friendly personality. She also helped us with arranging our luggage pickup by the service centre. Breakfast was mainly Asian with also bread, porridge and the small dishes cooked on order by the lady boss were tasty. The homemade soya milk was great too. Overall, i think the hotels in Gubei Watertown are overpriced with such basic room amenities. I paid nearly the same rate for a 5star hotel in Beijing with much bigger room with better room facilities/service. Suggest to go for day trip if possible. But if you want to go for overnight stay and climb Simatai the next day, suggest to stay inside the scenic area so you pay half the price and enjoy flexibility to move within the scenic area anytime.

SSurajRA beautiful Chinese courtyard-style house with a charming rose garden, this stay was truly unforgettable. Our hosts, May and David, went above and beyond to make our visit to the Great Wall and our time in China as perfect as possible. They booked our entry tickets, guided us through the process at the ticket booth, and shared invaluable tips on using Chinese apps, something that was especially helpful since this was our very first hotel in China. May’s homemade rose tea and the delicious home-cooked meals prepared by David’s father were full of flavor and warmth. From the moment we booked about a month in advance, May stayed in contact with us, offering advice and assistance with apps and logistics. She and David also arranged a cab for us to the Water Great Wall and back to our hotel in the city, making everything seamless. More than just wonderful hosts, they have become good friends. We still keep in touch, and even now while we are in Guangzhou, they continue offering advice whenever we need it. For anyone new to China, this is not just the best place to stay, it’s also a connection to kind-hearted people who make your journey truly special.

DdabaituThis inn is located in the ancient town, and its location is excellent, right by Wangjing Street. It's quiet despite being in a bustling area, and the room is very comfortable. There's a tatami mat by the window for scenic views. It's convenient to walk everywhere from here, and you can also go hike the Gubeikou Great Wall. There are also many local snacks nearby.

GGuest UserIt was a little hard to find for someone who doesn't read Chinese characters well. I don't think the staff speaks English, I at least spoke Mandarin to them. But they were super friendly. Room was nice for the price. The breakfast was a little underwhelming but you can get freshly made egg dishes which is a plus. And eating next to the river was also a very pleasant experience (just make sure you bring or ask for bug spray).

MM244348****The room was really cozy, and the large *kang* (heated bed) was incredibly comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised that the tap water is drinkable here! The location is fantastic, right at the foot of the Great Wall and very close to Duanjia Hot Springs. It's perfect for a relaxing soak after a hike.

GGuest UserGood base for climbing the Simatai Great Wall - easy walk over to the trailhead in the morning. Also smack in the middle of the attractions, with short walks to the fountain show, drone show, and a boat ride pier. The place is themed as a traditional style guesthouse, and so the decor and layout may seem a little dated and rustic - but that might be part of the charm depending on how you look at it. They have their own in-house coffeehouse and restaurant, but there are also a lot of other food options around the vicinity depending on how far you're willing to walk. It's a little far from the town entrance, but the free luggage forwarding service will take your luggage straight to the premises for you. That said, because the rooms are spread around a fairly large compound, you may still need to carry your luggage a short walk - possibly including a bit of stairs - between the reception area and your room. We also got a discount ticket for hot springs - a facility of which is also nearby.

GGuest UserGreat location. Clean big rooms with private bathrooms and AC. They have restaurant with a lot of menu options and the food was well portioned (I had to finish my lunch for dinner) and tasty although it take them 1 hour to prepare it. They offer shuttle services in Gubeikou town as well as to and from Jinshanling wall, I went there for the sunrise hike and they picked me up after sunset at 9 pm

GGuest UserAn Excellent Hub for Business Travel and In-Depth Beijing Exploration! Choosing the Milean Hotel for my business trip turned out to be an excellent decision, largely thanks to its strategic location which offered immense convenience and was a pleasant surprise. Situated in Sidaokou, the vibrant core of Zhongguancun, it's an absolute godsend for those of us who regularly interact with internet giants. Its proximity to client headquarters dramatically reduced commute times and costs, making business meetings exceptionally easy and efficient. What's more, the transportation network here is incredibly comprehensive and simply perfect. Whether you're heading to Beijing North Station for high-speed rail or connecting at the Xizhimen transportation hub, both are just a short ride away, ensuring seamless transitions for your onward journey. For tourists keen on exploring the city, it also serves as an ideal base, offering easy access to Haidian District's many tech parks and prestigious universities. After a busy day, the hotel's comfortable and quiet ambiance provided the perfect retreat. The professionalism and friendliness of the front desk staff also added a significant touch of warmth to my stay. It perfectly marries the efficiency required for business with the convenience sought by travelers. I highly recommend it to all business travelers and tourists looking to explore Beijing efficiently. This truly was an outstanding value-for-money stay!
