Cao Su almost satisfied all my imaginations of a secluded countryside, with a quiet village, trickling water, stone walls and green tiles, and bamboo forests rustling in the wind. Unlike Beijing, where I live, the mild and humid countryside in the south of the Yangtze River touched me almost instantly. Back to Cao Su, the owner Shuicao is enthusiastic and gentle, the aunt in the store is kind and amiable, and the two dogs in the yard, Xiaohei and Heijian, are extremely smart and well-behaved. The best mornings and nights here are when you can stroll around the village or sit in the yard and read after eating the healthy breakfast prepared by the aunt in the morning. At night, you can listen to the chirping of insects and lie on a recliner to watch the stars in the sky. Returning to nature is really realized here. This morning, I left the store and returned to Beijing. Xiaohei and the aunt were not sent to the village entrance by me. I think I will come back, because Cao Su not only has scenery, but more importantly, it has human touch.

The family room we booked was spacious, clean, and hygienic. Since we drove from Wenling on our first day and arrived at the B&B at 11 PM, the owner even reserved a parking space for us. What a thoughtful touch! The next morning, we had a hearty and varied breakfast, and the owner was incredibly welcoming. Overall, I have absolutely no regrets booking this B&B, and I absolutely give it a thumbs up!

This hotel is quite charming—it’s a large, old house that has been nicely converted into several hotel rooms. Our room was very comfortable. However, a heads-up regarding the bathroom: there was no door on the toilet area, and the shower was an all-glass enclosure. Since I was traveling with my husband, it wasn't an issue for us, but if you are traveling with friends, you might want to be aware of this lack of privacy. The location is excellent! It’s right next to the City Wall and super close to several great restaurants and cool bars. We also liked the service; the staff were quite attentive. One thing I found confusing, though, was that they didn't register my address as per the usual government standard for foreign guests, which most hotels in China follow. As for cleanliness, it was standard for China—there were a few stray hairs in parts of the room (usually women's hair), but I find this happens in practically any hotel here. Overall, it was a good stay!

What surprised me the most was that the homestay was actually equipped with an elevator. We dragged two large suitcases and could go directly to the room without having to climb the stairs. It was too friendly to heavy passengers. Especially living on the 4th floor, if there is no elevator, it will really be tired, this configuration instantly improves the happiness of staying. The overall quality of the homestay is very high, the rooms are spacious and bright, the decoration is very warm, the details are spotless, and it can be seen that the owner is very careful to take care of . The facilities are also very complete, not only there is an elevator, but the supplies in the room are complete and intimate, and it is particularly comfortable to live in.

Travel in reverse during the May Day holiday, avoid the crowds and head to the mountains and seas. Led by Xiaohongshu, after screening and comparing many places, I chose Qihengshishe, which is inexplicably familiar from its name to its decoration style. I was worried about being deceived by Xiaohongshu at first, but after checking in, it is worth recommending. The boss should be a couple of young people. They added us on WeChat before we set off and gave us detailed reminders on various matters needing attention. They also sent us a large bag of disposable toiletries every day. The little doll that the child dropped behind when he left was specially sent back by SF Express. The service is very good. The suite for four large and one small is very suitable for family travel. The stone house is very distinctive and the bedding is of good quality. Compared with the same type of homestays in the town, it has a better price-performance ratio and a convenient location. It is adjacent to the Golden Sand Beach. Although it is not big, it is big enough for children to dig sand and play in the waves.
