"Friendly staff and and checked in was swift. The wear and tear of the hotel was a bother. Location wise made up to it. One of the dryer was not functioning during our stay so taking time to do the laundry."

Even in 38 degree you can explore many coffees and local food just after stepping out of hotel.They even have a bar on terrace.Special thanks to the staff as they supported a lot for cooking baby food for my 1y kid and also for late Checkout. Perfect location subway is just 5min walk and also you can take didi from 2 min walk. Street in front of hotel is very relaxing. Will come again ."

"This trip to Hangzhou, I was genuinely amazed by the Marco Polo Holiday Hotel (West Lake Branch)! This absolute gem, hidden right in the city center, actually made my dream of 'watching West Lake from bed' a reality! ✨ 📍 Prime Location The location at 38 Pinghai Road is simply unbeatable! It’s just a 10-minute walk straight to West Lake, meaning you can easily catch the sunrise in your slippers at 6 AM. Intime Department Store is right downstairs, so you can grab a %Arabica coffee, wander over to West Lake, and just chill – that's the quintessential Hangzhou experience!~ 🏨 Staying in an Art Museum Stepping into the lobby, I was mesmerized by the European-style domed ceiling! The smart toilet and bathtub combo in the room was a huge plus for me. My favorite was the color-changing ambient light, making my evening baths feel like a scene from a K-drama!🤣 The rooftop terrace, however, is the real hidden gem – offering unbeatable 360° city views. I took photos from sunset until the city lights came on, and my phone's photo gallery was absolutely bursting! 🍳 Breakfast: Deliciously Overwhelming Choices The freshly made Congbaohui (fried scallion pancakes) and Pian'erchuan (a local noodle dish) were absolutely authentic and superb! They even had over a dozen types of freshly squeezed juices; as a fruit fanatic, I drank three glasses of watermelon juice every day. I highly recommend grabbing a window seat for breakfast, where you can enjoy Ding Sheng Gao (a local sweet cake) while watching the plane tree shadows, and truly feel the vibrant pulse of Hangzhou.~ 💡 Hidden Tips • On a rainy day, definitely head to the rooftop! A misty West Lake on a rainy day feels even more like a traditional ink painting than on a sunny one. • Ask the front desk for a lake view room on the 8th floor or higher for an even better view. • After 8 PM, walk to Hubin Road to catch the musical fountain show, and remember to head to the rooftop of the post office for the best vantage point. The biggest surprise this time was bumping into a fellow guest, an architect, on the rooftop. We chatted about everything from Southern Song Imperial Street to I.M. Pei, watching the sunset fade into starlight, and I finally understood the true meaning of 'Above there is paradise, below there are Suzhou and Hangzhou' 🌆. "The location of this hotel is excellent for reaching by air or train as it’s 300m from the metro connecting the airport and central station lines. The hotel is new and well equipped although I would like to see buttons translated to English for easier access. 500m to Qing he fang street with multiple gifts stores and authentic restaurants. The front desk is very helpful with my luggage and providing me with a universal adapter when I requested. Overall if you want to stay somewhere in the center, near West Lake and easy to reach, I’d recommend you this hotel"

"I flew to Hangzhou and had a layover at this hotel for the night. The location is extremely convenient, with many restaurants and shops outside. It's close to West Lake, allowing me to fulfill my small wish of running a full lap along the most beautiful running route around the lake the next morning, despite my limited time. The room was clean and comfortable, the night was quiet, and the front desk staff were very friendly. Highly recommended!"

"Even though it's an older hotel, it's incredibly well-maintained. What really stands out is how clean and quiet it is, ensuring I got a fantastic night's sleep. The staff were consistently friendly and always offered a warm greeting. A special mention goes to the hotel's laundry room; the detergent dispenser was spotless! This level of cleanliness really highlighted the hotel's quality compared to others. They contacted me before check-in to confirm my arrival time and thoughtfully had the AC running in my room already. Such a considerate gesture! Service was excellent, and the breakfast buffet was wonderfully generous. The location is fantastic – a mere 5-minute walk to the night market, and even closer to West Lake's iconic Broken Bridge. Getting to Hangzhou East Railway Station is incredibly convenient too, with a subway station right at the hotel entrance – just 5 stops, approximately 21 minutes. This was, without a doubt, the most satisfying hotel of my trip. In fact, it was so comfortable that I decided to extend my stay in Hangzhou by an extra day just to enjoy it a bit longer!"

"The hotel is well-located, and the service was decent. However, we noticed some black marks on the walls, and there was a fly in the room when we checked in. These issues slightly detracted from our overall experience. On a positive note, my child loved the bathtub, and we enjoyed the view of mountains and a pagoda right across. I hope the rooms will be more thoroughly inspected before the next guest's arrival."

Perhaps my lack of high expectations made everything feel all the more satisfying. The staff handling both check-in and check-out were exceptionally professional and warm. The doorman consistently greeted us with a smile, always opening and closing doors, which truly made us feel at home. Overall, excellent! I hope they maintain this high standard. All the bathroom fixtures, hardware, and appliances were of high quality, making them convenient and comfortable to use. Cleanliness: The room was meticulously cleaned; I didn't find any noticeable flaws or imperfections. Ambiance: While the room itself and public areas like the restaurant weren't exceptionally large, they were tastefully designed, quite clever, and practical. The soundproofing in the room was excellent, ensuring a good night's sleep. My double room faced residential buildings that were quite close, so the window view was practically non-existent. If a view is important to you, please take note of the room type when booking. Service: The service deserves a special mention! The hotel offers laundry and drying services, which was a huge help during the summer heat and saved my family the effort of washing clothes. In the evenings, they also delivered sweet soups (like red bean soup and white fungus soup) to our room. The quality was superb, and the flavors were authentic – tasting genuinely freshly prepared. I really loved this thoughtful touch and hope they continue it. Other services were attentive and thorough; all reasonable requests were promptly fulfilled, such as providing extra bottled water and luggage storage. Overall, I'm very satisfied and hope they maintain their excellent standards. Highly recommended!"
