"This homestay run by a leave in the family, and they go all out to make our stay comfortable. They can help you to book sharing a car to Dali or Lijiang at a very reasonable price. The homestay is just 2 mins walk from the taxi drop-off point, and you dont need to drag your luggage too far on the rubble road. Do note that inside the old town, vehicles are not allowed. The market and food stall is just 2 mins walk away, and you can find plenty of local food for breakfast and lunch. Next to the homestay you can find a cafe which serves good americano for just RMB9.90. Highly recommended to stay in this homestay."

This is a place I will miss after I leave!
1. It is quiet, unlike the noisy area near Sideng Street. I rested very well these days and was not woken up. The guests are also more qualified and there is no trouble of being woken up in the morning.
2. Cars and small yellow cars can drive directly to the door, and there is no need to drag the suitcase to find a place on the stone road.
3. It is only three or five minutes to walk from Sideng Street? Anyway, it is convenient
4. The room is very large, and the bed is Mousse, which is moderately soft and hard. It is great for my delicate waist! Finally, I will not wake up by back pain! From the courtyard to the room facilities, the decoration is very attentive! The quality of bedding and disposable products is also good!
5. The boss is very kind, and the rice noodles for breakfast are so delicious! It tastes better than what I have eaten outside these days! And buckwheat cakes? It seems to be called this. I ate 4 on the first day and I was embarrassed to ask for more hahaha! It is a very healthy and simple taste~

"The property is very close to one of the entrances into the old town, so it was very easy to alight the car and just walk over, as cars are not allowed in the old town.
First impression of the property was great, as there was a very well maintained garden filled with flowering plants, right when you entered the doors.
Eric and Joyce, the friendly and warm owners of this lovely place, were there to greet us too! Fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, it was a breeze chatting and learning more about Shaxi from the two of them! This is especially convenient for tourists who are from SG, MY, who may prefer to communicate in English or Cantonese!
Rooms were very clean and heaters were available. There is no air conditioning, but frankly, you will not require that at all!
The main street of the old town is just a casual walk away, perhaps just 5 mins from the property. But along the way, you would certainly stop by many spots to have pictures taken as the entire place is so scenic! The houses, the vibes, the courtyards etc, everywhere you turn and look, it's just beautiful.
There is no lack of places to dine at, once you are at the old town, so despite the fact that the property does not include food, you will never go hungry.
All in all, it was a great experience and we would highly recommend anyone who visits Shaxi to stay over at this awesome property!"

To create this balance, the original roof was lifted. Then, modern bathrooms with all amenities were installed. All the while, the finish of the wooden furniture reflects the history of the Bai people. The furniture itself was designed with clean lines to give them a modern feel. Each room lets in beautiful natural lighting alongside meticulous wood or granite flooring.
"We mistakenly came to Shaxi instead of Dali old town but this hotel made it all worthwhile visiting. The personal hospitality was exceptional, the 3 versions of breakfast was so delicious and plentiful, location was great within the pedestrian only area. Rooms were very clean and charming, the attention to detail is superb. We have traveled many places and stayed at nice grand hotels such as the Ritz Carlton before but the personal service to make you feel pampered is exceptional, from the evening offerings of hot goat milk before bedtime, afternoon tea reception, parting gift, and carrying our luggage’s to meet our taxi outside the pedestrian zone was greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend this hotel."

"This is a lovely little guesthouse well located between the old town centre and the river. The location is perfect for seeing the best of Shaxi and the guesthouse itself is spotlessly clean and well-renovated. The hosts went out of their way to help us out while we were there, arranging cars and transport and even shipping some clothes we left behind back to our house in Beijing. They had good recommendations and were generally welcoming and friendly. The room is spacious, clean and well-appointed. The lack of a door on the bathroom was a little odd but not a big problem. In general, a great place at which we would gladly stay again."

"This homestay in Shaxi Ancient Town completely overturned my imagination of traditional inns! From the moment I stepped into the courtyard, I was surrounded by a strong classical aesthetic atmosphere - blue bricks and black tiles, wooden corridors, a pool of clear water in the middle of the courtyard, dozens of koi fish shimmering in the sun, like a dynamic landscape painting. What's more surprising is the subtle fragrance of calm lines in the air, which is elegant and not greasy, and instantly soothes the impetuousness of the journey.
The store manager is really super warm! He took the initiative to upgrade the room type for us for free. The original wood furniture is matched with simple and elegant fabrics. The bedding is as soft as sinking into the clouds, and the details are tasteful everywhere.
The favorite is definitely the private balcony! In the morning, make a pot of tea, and the green mountains in the distance are like ink and wash. Time is so slow here that you can hear the wind. At night, you can also listen to the sound of the pool water accompanied by the starlight, which is so romantic that you are at a loss for words~
It is definitely a dimensionality reduction strike in the same price homestay! Service, environment, and details are all online, and even a handmade gift was given before leaving. If you only want to stay in one hotel when you come to Shaxi, choose this one with your eyes closed and you won’t regret it!

GGuest UserThe B&B owner is super nice! We were upgraded to a bigger room because the room was not cleaned on the day we checked in. This B&B has no shortcomings in terms of geographical location, hygiene, facilities, etc. The proprietress will pick you up and drop you off at the ancient city and the farm. There was a particularly warm library, and we spent the entire afternoon there on our first day.
The room is very large and has all the necessary facilities. The entire homestay is so beautiful that it looks great no matter how you take photos of it. There are some small animals on the farm on the mountain. The calves and lambs all look very healthy. The whole homestay gives people a very relaxing atmosphere. You can take pictures of the stars from the rooftop of the restaurant. There is a large field at the door, and the view is super good without any obstruction. Because they are the first one at the entrance of the village, other B&Bs probably don’t have such a good view. The breakfast provided by the B&B is super delicious, with fresh milk that was just squeezed that day and a variety of fresh vegetables. If you don't want to go out for lunch or dinner, the B&B can also provide it. The meals are all fresh, and the vegetables just picked from the field will be super delicious if you just stir-fry them. The staff are also very friendly.
If I return to Shaxi Ancient Town for tourism, I will definitely stay at their place again.

Food: Everyone who takes the baby out knows that there are delicious foods on the trip. This proprietress will make Chinese and Western dishes, as well as Bai specialties. Ttravelbug123As I booked two rooms seperately, this is the same review as my first. This has got to be my most memorable stay while travelling around Yunnan. Operated by a lovely couple, this homestay is tasteful and thoughtful and has all the necessity you need for a great night sleep and more. I wished I stayed a few more days as it was such a peaceful and beautiful home to be in. Decked across two floors, I think the bigger rooms are on the second floor which they will help with carrying luggages. The smaller rooms seems to be on the ground floor. Location wise, while they are not located in the old town itself, that's the beauty of it. The environment is thus peaceful and quiet and they have offered to drive us into the main town if needed. Breakfast was thoughtful, nutritious, beautifully presented and served at the tea area. One cannot help but feel culturally transformed by the hospitality of this place. I truly wish them all the best in their new business adventure. Even my elderly parents were impressed. Hope to be back again.

GGuest UserA very exquisite treasure homestay. When you first enter the courtyard, the flowers everywhere make you feel happy. You can feel the care of the proprietress in every corner of the house, and every window view is a painting.
The homestay is about 10 minutes' drive from the ancient town, and the proprietress needs to pick you up in and out. If you want to go anywhere around, the proprietress can also send you, which is very suitable for people who come to Shaxi to rest.
In other aspects, it can be said to be customized service. For example, the type of breakfast, milk before bed, etc. I remember that there was a power outage on the two days we went there. In order to make coffee for me, the proprietress directly ground it by hand, which was so touching.
It took more than half a month to comment after I came back. I miss every day in Shaxi so much. Next time I will bring my children to play together, especially recommended for people who like quietness.

Equipment was is great condition, everything was clean.
The host was really nice and well organized; she helped us all along our stay to navigate around the city and find a transportation to Dali.
The hotel is conveniently located close to the center of the city.
This stay was the highlight of our trip. The city is so beautiful and peaceful. Shibaoshan is really worth the trip (count half a day to really enjoy the trip). We regret not staying longer both in the hotel and the city.

GGuest UserThe B&B is about 2 minutes away from the pedestrian street. It is easily accessible by car. It is convenient to unload luggage and there is no need to drag luggage along the stone road. It is very convenient. When traveling, I always hope that my accommodation will be clean, quiet and brightly lit. Lanyue B&B exceeded my expectations on these three points.
The rice noodles for breakfast at the B&B are particularly delicious, and hot fresh milk is provided in the evening. The room is spacious and the bed is very good to sleep on. There are almost no faults.
Shaxi is different from other ancient towns that have become commercialized and stereotyped. The scenery here is beautiful, and the shops have a literary style and are full of human touch. You will meet kind and cheerful people who are willing to help, such as the owner of Lan Yue B&B, the little yellow car (No. 50), The owner of Xi Farmhouse Farmhouse Cuisine and Riverside Fish Restaurant, stayed here for two days, and still lingered over it. It is worth coming back.

Hotel is located within minutes walk to Shaxi old town. Fresh fruits and flowers arrangement grace the halls & rooms daily, making it such a charming and cosy place for guests to enjoy. Rooms are superbly well appointed with modern amenities & well curated furnishings. Bed and pillows are so comfortable that we slept very well. Breakfast is wonderful and delicious and there’s always a plate of fresh fruits served to us in the afternoons. Throughout the hotel, we see beautiful collection of Yunnan decorative ornaments well put together by Sister Pan. She is someone who puts in heart and soul into managing this boutique hotel & caring for her guests. We enjoyed our delightful conversations and were gifted a guide book of Yunnan authored by her husband董增旭.

They are organized and have materials in both English and Chinese to ensure they cook the breakfast you prefer (they give you a choice of Chinese or Western breakfast). With our family of 4, we got 2 Chinese and 2 Western breakfasts and they all turned out well because they make them fresh as you sit down. They also have a balcony and tea room on the second floor which is so peaceful and calming to be in. Highly recommend! You can probably find cheaper lodging elsewhere (such as inside the ancient town itself) but the quality and proximity of this inn makes it worth it.

JJing.weiyangThe location of the inn is very good. Yujin Bridge and the ancient town market are just a few dozen meters away, and it is very quiet next to the ancient town. The room space is very satisfactory. The facilities are a little old, but very complete, and there are coffee machines. The small courtyard is very cozy, and there is a book bar on the second floor. It would be even better if there was coffee~ It is more primitive and there are insects at night... The breakfast is relatively simple, but the rice noodle tastes good; the only drawback is that you cannot drive in, and you need to pull a suitcase, and it is recommended to contact the owner before coming to communicate clearly. Our car took the wrong road and was in a dilemma, which was very embarrassing😅

ZZaidalideyinianLocation: Very close to the entrance to the ancient town, with convenient parking. The alley is quiet and within easy walking distance of the nearby snack street. I love Shaxi Ancient Town's leisurely pace and have enjoyed it several times. Staying here was a real win.
Environment: While the courtyard isn't large, it's well-maintained. There's a small garden on the first floor and a pavilion on the second. Sitting on the small terrace on the second floor, gazing at the mountains and listening to the breeze is an ideal getaway. This is the rhythm of life in Shaxi.
Room Facilities: The overall atmosphere is very comfortable. The house seems to have been renovated from an old local house. The room features solid wood tables and chairs, modern furniture, and comfortable bedding. They provide drip coffee, and the minibar is well-stocked. The breakfast is also quite varied.
Service: The hotel staff communicated promptly with relevant information. The owner said he had been visiting Yunnan for several years and finally settled in Shaxi. It is truly a perfect place for a relaxing vacation.
